Breaking down the top midweek waiver wire adds, streaming options and rising names to target now.
The middle of the work week is here, which means we are going over our third fantasy baseball waiver wire/streaming articles of the week.
We already took a look at some starting pitcher streamer options for Wednesday. Here, we'll take a look at some more waiver wire/streaming options. Here are waiver stories from Monday and Tuesday.
Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Robby Snelling - Miami Marlins
Snelling has risen 6.9% today, which brings his overall mark to 25.63%.
Snelling has a chance to start for the Marlins on Friday, and as a top-50 prospect, he's being added in hopes that he indeed starts. He would be replacing Chris Paddack, who was designated for assignment on Tuesday.
Snelling is the No. 32 prospect. He was the 39th overall pick in 2022 of the Padres. The 22-year-old has logged a 3.07 earned run average over 384 minor league innings in the four years since being drafted.
At Triple-A this season, he's 3-1 with a 1.86 ERA over 29 innings. There's nothing left for him to prove in the minor leagues anymore, and the Marlins may give the youngster a chance to start this week.
Miami takes on Washington on Friday. That's a good matchup for Snelling for his MLB debut, and it means he could be utilized in all leagues. Add him in some deeper leagues today, and be ready to pounce in standard leagues if he indeed gets the nod on Friday. He could be scooped up in a hurry, so don't wait if you are interested in Snelling.
Tony Santillan or Graham Ashcraft - Cincinnati Reds
Santillan is owned in about 41% of fantasy leagues, while Ashcraft is at 26%.
Emilio Pagan is hitting the injured list after suffering a left hamstring injury. Santillan and Ashcraft are a couple options to replace him as the Reds' closer.
In 16 appearances, Santillan is 1-1 with one save, two blown saves and nine holds. He's allowed five runs on 11 hits and nine walks over 15 2/3 innings, while striking out 16 batters.
Ashcraft has appeared in 17 games and has a 1-0 record, one save, one blown save and seven holds. He's allowed three runs (two earned) on 11 hits and walks, while striking out 19 batters over 17 2/3 innings.
You'll have to wait and see how the Reds approach things with the closer role while Pagan is out. I like Santillan most right now, but actual results will dictate the best fantasy options for the time being.
JJ Bleday - Cincinnati Reds
Bleday is up 2.99%, which brings his overall mark to 8.39%.
Bleday has logged just eight games on the season. Over his 29 plate appearances, he has seven hits for a .292 average. Bleday has five walks and strikeouts, six runs scored and five RBIs. He's hit four homers and a double among his hits.
The outfielder has started strong for Cincy, and should earn regular playing time as a result. He's definitely a player to keep tabs on, while adding today in deeper leagues.
Keep tabs on Bleday, as he could sneak into standard leagues if he keeps playing daily and is delivering big. I think he'll top out as a deep-league asset, but you just never know.
Xander Bogaerts - San Diego Padres
Bogaerts is rostered in 69% of leagues right now. He was at 55% back on April 23.
Bogaerts posted two hits and a walk on Tuesday to raise his average to .270 and OBP to .352 on the season. Over 34 games and 142 plate appearances, the shortstop has 20 RBIs, 16 runs scored, four stolen bases, 16 walks and 21 strikeouts. He has six homers and two doubles among his 34 total knocks.
He's at a loaded fantasy position, but delivering enough to utilize in all deeper leagues. Bogaerts is a pretty solid standard league option, but I'd only treat him as a short-term option in those leagues.
Don't overlook the veteran though. He's delivering enough to try now if you need some help at shortstop, or in the infield.
Brandon Marsh - Philadelphia Phillies
Marsh has been picked up in 4.02% of leagues, and he now sits at 41.48% overall.
Marsh had three hits last night to extend his hitting streak to seven games. He has a .322 average and .350 OBP overall this season in 32 games and 123 plate appearances.
Marsh also has 18 RBIs, 17 runs scored, three stolen bases, five walks and 25 punchouts. He has seven doubles and four home runs among his 37 total knocks.
The outfielder is part of another stacked fantasy spot, but Marsh is delivering enough now to utilize in deeper leagues, while being another short-term option in standard leagues. You might as well utilize him while he's hot, but only if you have a roster spot to play with.
