Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire: Hot Hitters to Add Thursday
Breaking down the best waiver wire bats to target, from deep-league options to rising standouts.
Let's continue looking over fantasy baseball waiver wire/streaming options by checking out some hitters.
We just went over pitching options for Thursday. Here are the hitter stories from Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Daylen Lile - Washington Nationals
Lile has been added in 2.1% of fantasy baseball leagues already today, which brings his overall mark to 65.24%.
Lile had a homer and three RBIs across his two hits in his last game. He has eight hits over his past six contests.
He's up to a .282 average and .333 on-base percentage over 24 games and 111 plate appearances this season. Lile has seven doubles and three homers among his 29 total hits, plus 13 RBIs, 15 runs scored, a stolen base, eight walks and 16 strikeouts.
Lile still sits against left-handed pitching, so that caps his fantasy ceiling a bit. If the Nationals are in a string of facing right-handed pitchers, then Lile can be scooped up. He's a very good deep-league asset, and is worth some standard league utilization while he's going well at the plate.
Ronny Mauricio - New York Mets
Mauricio is owned in just 1.14% of fantasy leagues, but is back on the rise after being recalled. He's taking the place of Francisco Lindor, who got hurt on Wednesday.
He got in two big league games earlier this season, and had a single across four plate appearances. Mauricio starred in Triple-A across 15 games and 63 plate appearances. He had six homers and two doubles among his 17 hits, plus 13 RBIs, 12 runs scored, five stolen bases, four walks and 12 strikeouts.
He should get some playing time for a Mets' offense desperate for hitting. Mauricio hasn't put it all together at the big league level yet, but maybe he stays as hot as he was in Triple-A, so he's worth some adds in deeper leagues now. He could be added in more and more leagues if he indeed delivers at the big league level.
Nolan Arenado - Arizona Diamondbacks
Arenado is rostered in 19% of leagues at the moment. That's up just a bit from yesterday, which was his season-low own mark of 18.86%.
Arenado has six hits over his past two games, including a homer and double. He has three RBIs, four runs scored, two walks and no strikeouts in those two games.
The veteran has a .263 average and .286 OBP over 22 games and 84 plate appearances so far. Arenado has four homers and two doubles among his 21 total knocks, plus 14 RBIs, 11 runs scored, three walks and 17 punchouts.
He's past his prime, but can still deliver in stretches at the plate. Arenado is just a deep-league asset, and probably tops out as one, but he is heating up and worth more fantasy utilization.
Carter Jensen - Kansas City Royals
Jensen is up to about 49% rostered right now. That's up about 1.3% from yesterday, and about 15% since the start of the season.
Jensen is on a four-game hitting streak, and has collected seven knocks over that stretch. He has two homers and a double in that stretch, plus four RBIs, five runs scored, three walks and just two strikeouts.
The young catcher has a .275 average and .354 OBP over 23 games and 79 plate appearances this season. Jensen has six homers, two doubles, 19 total hits, 14 RBIs, 11 runs scored, eight walks and 22 strikeouts.
At a position lacking consistent fantasy assets, I like the idea of adding Jensen. He plays often, serving as the designated hitter for a lot of games he isn't catching. Jensen has good numbers too, so add him in any fantasy league if you need catcher help.
Michael Harris II - Atlanta Braves
Harris is rostered in 89% of leagues, so he's only available to a few of you. He was near 100% owned to start the season, but is back on the rise a bit.
Harris is another player on a four-game hitting streak. The outfielder has seven hits in that span, including three homers and a double. Harris has six RBIs, four runs scored, a walk and no strikeouts in that span.
He has a .296 average and .337 OBP over 23 games and 86 plate appearances this season. Harris has six homers and two doubles among his 24 total hits. He also has 14 RBIs, 11 runs scored, two stolen bases, five walks and 15 strikeouts.
The veteran outfielder is trending up, and has pretty good season-long marks. He seems to be back on track with numbers he posted early in his career, when he was a high-end fantasy asset. I'd add and hold Harris for as long as he's excelling at the plate - you might add him today and never drop him.
