We just went over some MLB injury news on Monday, and have a couple more notable injuries that have been announced since, so let's discuss those here.

We will go over real-world and fantasy baseball impacts of each injury.

Fantasy baseball injury news can be found all season on FantasySP.

Edwin Diaz - Los Angeles Dodgers

The big blow on Monday was Diaz hitting the 15-day injured list with right elbow loose bodies. He's expected to be out three or so months, and return in the second half of the season.

It's a huge deal that Diaz is injured for fantasy baseball owners. He was drafted as one of the top fantasy relievers coming into 2026, and now won't finish near the top-end relievers. He'll go down as a big-time draft bust as a result.

Stash him on an IR spot, and utilize the waiver wire to find some fantasy relievers to get you by until Diaz is back on the mound. Nobody you pick up will be nearly what Diaz is, but at least they'll be able to help you out a bit over the next couple months.

This takes a weapon out of the Dodgers' bullpen, and doesn't make them quite as daunting as they were coming into the season. The team still has several good relievers to turn to while Diaz is out, but closing out wins just became a bit tougher at the very least.

In seven appearances, Diaz was 1-0 with four saves and one blown save. He allowed seven runs on nine hits and five walks, while striking out 10 over six innings. Six of his runs allowed came across his past two outings.

Tanner Scott and Alex Vesia are the top options for saves in the meantime, and Blake Treinen could also get some save chances. Scott and Vesia were part of today's waiver wire article for pitchers, so check that out for more on them.

Really, you need to be watching who gets saves for the Dodgers for a couple weeks to see if any one guy is going to lead the way with Diaz out.

Raisel Iglesias - Atlanta Braves

Iglesias was placed on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday because of right shoulder inflammation. He reportedly slept on his shoulder wrong, and now has hit the IL.

Hopefully that means it will be a short IL stint for Iglesias, but we will have to wait and see how his body responds to some time off.

Iglesias was another good fantasy relief option for 2026, so this is another blow for fantasy owners. He's not on the level of Diaz, but had top-10 upside. You can find similar talents on the waiver wire in some leagues, but in most cases, the waiver adds are a level or two below Iglesias.

In eight appearances, Iglesias had five saves. He's yet to allow a run over 8 2/3 innings. Iglesias has surrendered five hits and one walk, while striking out 11.

He looked to be heading toward a high-end fantasy finish, but now this injury casts some doubts. Hopefully Iglesias can return after 15 days and get right back to pitching at a high level.

In the meantime, Robert Suarez should get the save chances in Atlanta. He's already owned in most fantasy leagues, so only a few of you reading are going to get the chance to add and utilize Suarez.

Suarez has closing experience in his past, but was signed to Atlanta to be a top setup man for Iglesias. Suarez is 2-0 with one save and four holds over his 10 appearances this season. He's allowed one run on seven hits and one walk, while striking out 11 over 9 2/3 innings.

Add and utilize Suarez while he serves as the Atlanta closer. He could be a high-end fantasy reliever until Iglesias is back in the mix.

Brendan Donovan - Seattle Mariners

Donovan hit the 10-day IL with a left groin muscle strain. There's not an exact timetable for his return yet, but the Mariners are hoping it's a short IL stint.

Donovan has played exclusively at third base for Seattle this season. In 18 games and over 71 plate appearances, he has a .304 average and .437 on-base percentage - so it's a big loss to not have him around either.

Among his 17 knocks, Donovan has three doubles and three homers. He also has eight RBIs, seven runs scored, a stolen base, nine walks and 12 strikeouts.

Not having him hurts the Mariners, who were already struggling a good amount at the plate. Now, Leo Rivas and Will Wilson are expected to split time at third base, so offense will be even tougher to come by in Seattle.

Neither of those guys are likely to be even deep-league fantasy assets while Donovan is out. Hopefully, he's just out 10 days, as much longer could really decimate the Mariners.

I'd find a place for Donovan on my IR, or deep on my bench, because I wouldn't want to drop him. He shouldn't be out super long, and hopefully he can come back and keep delivering in a couple weeks.

Jonathan India - Kansas City Royals

India is on the 10-day IL with a left shoulder subluxation. It's apparently an injury that's bothered him on and off all season, which is not great to hear.

He's not a huge fantasy asset, but his absence hurts the Royals in the real world. The second baseman is expected to be replaced by a platoon between Michael Massey and Nick Loftin.

I don't see either of those guys becoming big fantasy assets, and India might not be out long enough for either guy to truly settle in. India is only rostered in 17% of leagues right now, so he can be dropped in most fantasy leagues, if you don't have the roster space to stash him.

There's better fantasy 2B out there anyways, so look elsewhere for help. India was hitting just .167, but got on base at a .310 clip over his first 17 games and 58 plate appearances. He has two homers and a double among his eight knocks, plus eight RBIs, runs scored and walks and 13 strikeouts.
