Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire: Donovan, McLain and 3 More Hitters to Add

These five hitters are trending up on the waiver wire and could help fantasy managers down the stretch.

Let's keep checking out some fantasy baseball waiver wire/streaming options by discussing a few hitters.

Here are the hitter waiver wire articles from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, plus a pitching waiver wire/streaming article for Friday.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP! The Fantasy Sports Assistant now can answer questions you have after doing team breakdowns or waiver wire analysis!

Matt McLain - Cincinnati Reds

McLain is up 1.75% already today, and that brings his overall mark to 16.89%.

He has four hits over his past two contests. One of those hits was a homer, and he's also drove in four runs, scored four times, drawn a walk and stolen a base across those contests.

McLain has just a .200 average and .298 on-base percentage over 104 games and 385 plate appearances this season, so he's mostly underwhelmed. He has 17 doubles and 12 homers, plus 67 total hits, 33 RBIs, 46 runs scored, 15 stolen bases, 43 walks and 104 strikeouts.

He's had much better seasons in his career, and maybe he is trending toward a better finish to the 2026 season. Right now, McLain is a better deep-league fantasy asset. The second baseman and shortstop would only be worth adding in standard leagues if he's red hot for a week or longer in a row.

Brendan Donovan - Seattle Mariners

Donovan is owned in 43.38% of fantasy leagues, which is up over 2% from a couple days ago.

He had five hits over a three-game series against the Brewers this week. Donovan had two doubles, three walks, two RBIs and two runs scored as well.

Donovan has been plagued by injuries in 2026, playing just 38 games so far. Over 154 plate appearances, he has a .273 average and .370 OBP, plus 14 RBIs, 12 runs scored, 15 walks, a stolen base and 23 strikeouts. He has seven doubles, a triple and three homers among his 36 total hits.

It's been a disappointing year for Donovan with all the injuries, but he's delivered pretty well at the plate when healthy. He should be eligible at a couple spots, and he could be a sneaky-good fantasy hitter to roster down the stretch. Add him in deeper leagues, and consider him in standard leagues, at least until his bat cools off some.

Javier Sanoja - Miami Marlins

Sanoja sits at 11.42% rostered at the moment. He was at 8% earlier this month.

He has a four-game hitting streak going right now, with seven knocks over that stretch. Sanoja has two home runs and a double among the hits, plus six RBIs, two runs scored, a walk and just two strikeouts.

In 110 games and across 348 plate appearances this year, Sanoja has a .278 average and .317 OBP. He's got 26 doubles, six homers and two triples among his 91 total hits, plus 48 RBIs, 32 runs scored, 19 walks, six stolen bases and just 29 strikeouts.

Sanoja is a sneaky-good fantasy hitter, but a lack of pop holds him out of most leagues. He too can play all over the field, so he could be a good short-term add in deeper leagues. Consider him, even if it's just until this hot streak ends.

Kody Clemens - Minnesota Twins

Clemens is at 49.32% owned at this time. He's trending back up after mostly being dropped of late.

He too has a four-game hitting streak going - Clemens has seven knocks in that span. Clemens has a homer and a double among the hits, plus five RBIs, three runs scored, a walk and just one strikeout.

Clemens has 449 plate appearances over 111 games played in 2026, and he sits with a .236 average and .293 OBP. He has 21 homers and doubles, plus five triples, among his 97 total hits, plus 61 RBIs, 58 runs scored, 28 walks, eight stolen bases and 101 strikeouts.

The versatile defender has been a solid fantasy asset here and there all season, and he's trending up now. That makes him worth more fantasy ownership/usage, so feel free to consider him in standard leagues. I'd be rostering him in deeper leagues, maybe even through the end of the season.

Corey Seager - Texas Rangers

Seager has risen to 81.28% today. He was at 71.07% 10 days ago.

He has four two-hit games in a row. Seager has two doubles and a homer among the hits, plus two RBIs, three runs scored and four strikeouts.

Seager has played in just 68 games, so he's been a draft bust again due to injuries. Over 286 plate appearances, Seager has a .218 average and .315 OBP, which are also disappointing marks. He's got 13 homers, 10 doubles, 54 total hits, 31 RBIs, 38 runs scored, 34 walks, a stolen base and 71 strikeouts.

He's been hitting better of late, and that makes him worth owning/utilizing in more fantasy leagues. Try Seager in all leagues while he's healthy and producing, and just hope he can avoid injuries the rest of the way.
