Fantasy Baseball Pitcher Waiver Wire Targets for Monday
A look at Monday’s top fantasy baseball pitcher streamers, including several strong short-term adds and a potential saves option.
We just went over weekly fantasy baseball projections and highlighted 10 players (five hitters, five starting pitchers) who are set for strong weeks. Now, we will turn our attention to daily waiver wire adds.
Here, let's discuss pitchers, mostly streaming options for Monday. Check back in a bit for a waiver wire story on hitters.
Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Justin Wrobleski - Los Angeles Dodgers
Wrobleski is up 8.78% today, which is the highest mark on FantasySP so far. He's owned in 25.21% of leagues overall.
Wrobleski will make a start Monday evening against the Rockies, who are a great matchup. The only downside is that the game is in Colorado, so Wrobleski's outlook is a bit lower.
He has made two starts over three big league appearances this season. Wrobleski is 2-0 with a 2.12 earned run average over 17 innings. He's allowed four runs on eight hits and five walks, while striking out six.
He was stellar in his last outing against the Mets, and has allowed just one run over 13 innings in his two starts. Wrobleski is a very good streaming option for Monday, and is at least a deep-league option - he's worth considering in standard leagues too.
Spencer Arrighetti - Houston Astros
Arrighetti sits at 45.27% rostered after a 4.53% increase so far today.
He will make a start against the Guardians this evening. That's a pretty solid matchup on paper.
Arrighetti made his season debut on April 15 against the Rockies. He worked six innings, allowing a run on three hits and four walks, while punching out 10.
The strikeouts appeal to fantasy owners, but the high walk total is a bit concerning - he also hit two batters, so he faced 27 batters over his six frames. I'd consider him in standard leagues, but would only feel really good about starting him in deeper leagues today - he just hasn't shown enough yet.
Seth Lugo - Kansas City Royals
Lugo is up over 2% already today, and sits near 73% owned overall.
Lugo will make a start against the Orioles on Monday night. That's a pretty good matchup, despite all the big names in the Baltimore lineup.
Lugo has been really good over his four starts, covering 24 1/3 innings. He sits with a 1-1 record, but has a 1.48 ERA. Lugo has allowed five runs (four earned) on 18 hits and six walks over 24 1/3 innings, while striking out 21 batters.
He's off to a good start in 2025, and that sets him up nicely for tonight. I like Lugo a bunch in deeper leagues, and he's worth a good amount of standard league starts too. The veteran should deliver at least solid results regardless of the matchup, and tonight's is a pretty good matchup, so fire Lugo up if you can.
Bryce Elder - Atlanta Braves
Elder is rostered in about 78% of fantasy leagues as he prepares for his next start.
Elder will make a start tonight against the Nationals. Again, that's a pretty good matchup on paper.
Across four starts, Elder has been outstanding, allowing just four runs (two earned) on 17 hits and seven walks. He's struck out 23 batters over 23 1/3 innings and is 2-1 with a stellar 0.77 ERA.
There's a lot to like about Elder after his fast start, and the matchup sets him up well to succeed tonight. Definitely start him in deeper leagues, and I'd also want to start him in nearly every standard league too.
Colin Rea - Chicago Cubs
Rea is owned in only 11% of leagues. He was barely owned a couple weeks ago.
Rea will start Monday night against the Phillies. That's not a very good matchup on paper, but the veteran hurler is capable of at least modest numbers against any opponent.
He's made one start and three relief appearances so far in 2026. Rea is 2-0 and has a save as well after working the final three innings in his first outing. In his start, he allowed three runs on four hits and no walks, while striking out five batters over six frames.
That game was against the Phillies, so streaming him tonight makes some sense. He's just a deep-league option in my eyes, but he could surprise, especially if he limits runs even more tonight.
Caleb Thielbar - Chicago Cubs
Thielbar is up 5.24% today, which brings his overall mark to 12.32%.
Closer Daniel Palencia was placed on the injured list late last week, and Thielbar appears to be the temporary closer now for Chicago.
Over nine appearances overall, he's 2-2 with one save and one hold. Thielbar had a save and win over the weekend, pitching the ninth inning in one contest, and the 10th frame in the other.
He has allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks so far. Thielbar has 11 punchouts over eight innings.
If you are desperate for some saves, or just fantasy relief help in general, then Thielbar is a solid pickup. He's just a deep-league asset, as Palencia isn't expected to miss much more than 15 days (the minimum stay for pitchers).
