Pecko has settled down nicely over the past two weeks, posting a sharp 1.94 ERA and 0.97 WHIP across 9.1 innings. The rookie right-hander stepped into Houston's pitching staff during a tight playoff push, with the 76-76 Astros tied atop the AL West standings. However, Pecko currently slots into the bullpen as the primary long reliever rather than an everyday starter, capping his fantasy upside despite his recent momentum.

While his recent run prevention is encouraging, Pecko's 4.58 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across his first five career appearances tell a more realistic story. A strikeout rate of only 6.25 K/9 paired with 12 walks in 21.2 total innings indicates that his recent results are riding unsustainable batted-ball luck. Without improved command and swing-and-miss stuff, regression toward his mid-4.00s baseline is imminent.
