4 Under-The-Radar Fantasy Baseball Starting Pitcher Streamers for Saturday
Four starting pitchers with good matchups on Saturday who are widely available in fantasy leagues.
The Chicago White Sox put a 22-1 drubbing on the Royals yesterday, including scoring 10 runs in the third inning against reliever Mitch Spence, who threw just 1 1/3 innings. Not only are the White Sox in first place in the AL Central, but their plus-18 run differential is by far the best in the division and tied for second best in the American League.
Chicago went through three abysmal seasons, but they added plenty of talent in the draft and through trades during that time, and in a weak division, they are a real contender for the playoffs. They might not have the upside to compete with the best if they make the postseason, but this is a huge turnaround for the worst team of the past half-decade.
Moving to fantasy baseball, let's look at four starting pitchers in action on Saturday who are widely available in fantasy leagues and have good matchups. Most stats are from MLB.com, as are the probable starters. The full streamer rankings are listed at the bottom.

Slade Cecconi, Cleveland Guardians vs. Seattle Mariners
Cecconi has followed the same script his whole career, holding a good walk rate and below-average strikeout rate while allowing a few too many hits, runs, and home runs. He's not much worse than average, but he's probably a little below that mark, still a useful starter but not a big fantasy performer. After having his best season last year, Cecconi is down a little in 2026.
The Mariners rank in the bottom 10 in many offensive stats, but they are closer to average than the bottom of the league. I've also talked often about how they perform much worse at home, as T-Mobile Park has been the best pitcher's park in baseball over the past three seasons (and it's back there this year). This game taking place in Cleveland lowers the fantasy value of the pitchers a bit, but Seattle still strikes out at a top-10 rate, giving a decent ceiling.
Cecconi is a low-to-mid-level streamer. The matchup is just good, not great, and Cecconi's below-average strikeout work and trouble limiting hitters keeps him down from being a reliable fantasy player each time out.
Jared Jones, Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Cincinnati Reds
I was way up on Jones heading into last season, but he had UCL surgery on his right elbow, missing the entirety of 2025. Rather than Tommy John, he had a less invasive brace surgery that has been gaining popularity recently, but he still missed a whole season and has made just five starts in his return this year.
In his time in the big leagues, Jones has been good with walks and better than average with strikeouts, but he's getting hit harder this year (23 hits, 13 runs, and four home runs in 20 1/3 innings) than he did in 2024 when he looked primed to break out. I'm holding out hope for his upside but remaining cautious as he works his way back.
Cincinnati isn't quite as lowly as some of our other targets, but they top out in the middle in most areas and rank in the bottom 10 in runs, hits, and all four slash categories. They were hitting for power early in the season, but their homers have also fallen to the middle of the pack. Most importantly for our purposes, the Reds are among the top four in most batter strikeouts, setting a big ceiling for opposing pitchers who miss bats (like Jones).
Jones is a mid-level streamer. I'm probably a little too optimistic, but Jones has struck out at least four batters in every start aside from Sunday, when he left after three innings when he was hit in the elbow with a comebacker. He looks ready to go, though, and I'm up on him again in this one.
Alan Rangel, Philadelphia Phillies @ New York Mets
The Mets finally did it: they fired their manager on Friday after starting 34-47, the third-worst record in the National League (the Rockies and Giants are worse). While they are performing poorly overall, their offense is probably the worst unit, ranking in the bottom 10 in most offensive box stats. They have improved a little from their dismal start, but New York is still one of our favorite fantasy targets halfway through the season.
Rangel has made just two appearances this season, a relief outing in April and then back on Monday, when he threw five innings after taking over from an opener. He only has 19 career innings, and he has been fine in that time, but it's impossible to tell what he'll be from such a small sample. He was OK in the minor leagues but not great; there's not a lot here pointing toward a guy who is going to be a high-level fantasy pitcher.
Rangel is a low-to-mid-level streamer. The matchup is right, and Rangel did good strikeout work in the minor leagues, but there's just not enough of a track record to expect anything great.
Kai-Wei Teng, Houston Astros @ Detroit Tigers
Teng has been a recent friend of the article, showing up here as a prospective streamer on our list before his previous two starts against the Guardians and these same Tigers. He did good against Cleveland (four hits and one run in six innings), but Teng struggled against Detroit on June 15, giving up six hits, five runs, and three homers in 3 1/3 innings, though he did strike out nine hitters in that game. Teng is a good strikeout pitcher but walks too many guys, and his performance has too often oscillated between good and bad, like the two starts mentioned above.
Detroit is another team that ranks in the bottom 10 in most offensive areas, a disappointing turn after looking like a real contender entering last year's playoffs. They have considerable ground to make up against both the Guardians and White Sox if they want to get back to the top of the division, but their subpar offense probably means that they will be looking to offload players at the trade deadline (Tarik Skubal, anyone?) rather than adding for a run.
Teng is a mid-level streamer with a little downside. He has been knocked around a bit in more than half of his starts but pitched better out of the bullpen, making his overall numbers look decent. The positive matchup and his strong K work give him hope here.
