Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters to Add Before the Weekend
Looking for offense? These trending hitters can provide a late-week fantasy baseball boost.
Let's continue looking at fantasy baseball waiver wire options by discussing some hitters.
Here is the starting pitcher streaming article for Friday, plus waiver wire stories from Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday and Monday that included hitters (and a couple pitchers).
Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Willi Castro - Colorado Rockies
Castro is owned in 59% of fantasy baseball leagues right now. He was only at 19% back on June 14.
He had three hits in his last game and has seven hits over a four-game hitting streak. Castro has been a better fantasy asset this month, and now sits with a .282 average and .356 on-base percentage for the season.
Over 69 contests and 270 plate appearances, Castro has 68 total hits, including 13 doubles and six home runs. He also has 33 RBIs, 36 runs scored, six stolen bases, 25 walks and 68 strikeouts.
He can play all over the field, so he's a pretty valuable fantasy asset, especially when he's hitting well. He's worth a roster spot in all deeper fantasy leagues at this point. I wouldn't mind utilizing him in standard leagues too, even if it's just a short-term stint.
Brandon Marsh - Philadelphia Phillies
Marsh is up another 5.35% today, which brings his overall mark to 88.01%.
He has three multi-hit games in a row, and nine total hits across a four-game hitting streak. Marsh has three homers and a double in that span, plus six RBIs and runs scored, a walk and three strikeouts.
Marsh has played in 76 games, getting 297 plate appearances. He owns a .324 average and .357 OBP with 90 hits and 14 walks. Marsh has 14 doubles, 12 homers and two triples among his hits, plus 41 RBIs, 46 runs scored, eight stolen bases and 74 strikeouts.
Marsh is part of a loaded fantasy outfield spot, but is trending up and producing a ton this season. At some point, he's likely to regress a bit, but until then, he's worth utilizing in all leagues. Add him today if you still can.
Dylan Crews - Washington Nationals
Crews is trending up and sits at 27% rostered right now. He was closer to 15% on June 14.
He has three multi-hit games over his past four appearances. Crews has a double among the seven hits in that span, plus an RBI, six runs scored, no walks and four strikeouts.
Crews has played in 32 big leagues games so far, and he has gotten 128 plate appearances. He owns a .230 average and .266 OBP, with 28 knocks and two walks. Crews has five homers and four doubles among the hits, plus 17 RBIs, 19 runs scored, three stolen bases and 26 strikeouts.
The outfielder was a highly-regarded prospect, but hasn't put it all together at the big league level yet. He's starting to trend up, so there's a little promise with him. He's worth adding in some deeper leagues now, and he's one to watch for a possible add down the line in more deeper leagues, and maybe standard leagues too.
Jung Hoo Lee - San Francisco Giants
Lee is now rostered in about 85% of leagues, so only a handful of you could add him today. This could be the last time we discuss him this season.
He has five hits over his past three games, with a double, triple and home run among the knocks. Lee has four RBIs, two runs scored, a walk and one strikeout in that span, plus has stolen a base.
Lee now owns a .332 average and .365 OBP across 72 contests and 293 plate appearances this season. He has 91 hits, including 19 doubles, five homers and three triples, plus has 30 RBIs, 41 runs scored, five stolen bases, 13 walks and 27 strikeouts.
The outfielder is more of a contact hitter, but he's producing enough to add and utilize in most fantasy leagues. If you are lacking in the outfield, consider adding Lee today.
Brooks Lee - Minnesota Twins
Lee has been added in 2.01% of leagues. He's sitting at 61.05% overall now.
He has a hit in each of the past two games. One was a homer, and he also has two walks, an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in those contests.
Lee owns a .240 average and .299 OBP over his 78 games played and 309 plate appearances this season. He has 11 doubles, 13 homers and two triples among his 68 total knocks, plus has 45 RBIs, 38 runs scored, four stolen bases, 22 walks and 48 strikeouts.
Lee should be eligible at second and third base and shortstop too, so that ups his fantasy value. He's worth a spot in all deeper leagues, especially while his bat is hot. Lee could even be utilized in standard leagues, but probably should just be viewed as a short-term option.
