Rising Trade Values Create Sell-High Opportunities for Fantasy Baseball Managers

Recent hot streaks and strong performances have boosted the trade value of several fantasy stars, creating intriguing sell-high discussions.

Let's continue our fantasy baseball trade coverage this week by looking at risers and fallers on the FantasySP trade value chart. We'll look at players who have risen over the past week first.

We will look at players with falling values in another story, so check back for that.

Here are some trade articles from earlier this week: hitters trending up and down and pitchers trending up and down.

Use the FantasySP trade value chart and trade analyzer as you propose and accept fantasy baseball trades all season!

Dylan Cease - Toronto Blue Jays

Cease was out for a couple weeks with an injury, but returned and made a start on Tuesday. He had his fantasy value rise after he was activated again, and he looked good in his first start back, so he rose more.

In six innings, he allowed a run on three hits and a walk. He struck out 11 batters along the way.

He started 12 games, and has a 3-3 record with a 2.91 earned run average over 68 innings. Cease has allowed 25 runs (22 earned) on 52 hits and 27 walks. He's struck out 103 batters along the way.

Cease is a good fantasy pitcher when healthy, but has been inconsistent over his career. He's pitching super well this year, and off a good start, it's a time to maybe sell Cease high in a trade. That depends on your overall opinion on Cease, and the state of your fantasy team overall.

Jake Bauers - Milwaukee Brewers

Bauers struggled in his last game, striking out in all four at-bats, but he's been on the rise, and is up, so let's discuss him.

In 58 games and 234 plate appearances, Bauers has a .277 average and .376 on-base percentage. He has 12 doubles and homers among his 56 total hits, plus 43 RBIs, 39 runs scored, five stolen bases, 30 walks and 55 strikeouts.

Bauers is having a career season, and there's a chance he regresses in time. That makes him a sell-high candidate right now.

He's not owned in all leagues, so he's a better deep-league trade asset. See if anyone is interested in adding Bauers, as first basemen and outfielders are easy to find, so he's replaceable if you don't expect him to keep delivering this well all season.

Jung Hoo Lee - San Francisco Giants

Lee is in a similar boat to Bauers, just eligible in the outfield though. He's a better deep-league trade option, as he's not even owned in all standard leagues.

He is on an 18-game hitting streak, and has his average up to .338 and OBP up to .372. Over 61 games and 250 plate appearances, he has 79 total hits, 24 RBIs, 34 runs scored, three stolen bases, 11 walks and 25 strikeouts. He has 15 doubles, three homers and two triples among his hits.

Lee is a contact hitter, and he flies under the fantasy radar most times because of that. He's producing a ton at the plate right now, so he's a fantasy asset in all leagues.

He will regress in time (he has to), so selling him high in a trade makes sense to me. See if you can land a more well-rounded fantasy hitter in return, especially if you don't need to start Lee every day in the long run.

Bryce Harper - Philadelphia Phillies

Harper is a high-end fantasy asset, and is trending up of late. He has five hits over his past four games, and also has walked five times in that span.

He has a .267 average and .376 OBP over 78 games and 282 plate appearances. Harper has 12 doubles, 15 homers and a triple across 63 total hits. He has 38 RBIs, 45 runs scored, five stolen bases, 43 walks and 52 strikeouts.

Harper is producing similarly to last year, and he's a good fantasy asset, especially right now. There's a ton of fantasy first basemen out there, so it makes Harper one to sell high on right now.

If you have another first baseman to replace Harper, then I wouldn't mind flipping Harper for a player at a position of need.

Drew Rasmussen - Tampa Bay Rays

After allowing five runs over four innings on May 30, Rasmussen has allowed no runs over his past two starts. He's covered 14 innings in that span, giving up three hits and a walk, while striking out 22 batters along the way.

Rasmussen is pitching close to how he has over the course of his career, but after two elite starts, he's a sell-high trade candidate. If you have enough pitching and could use help elsewhere, then look into selling Rasmussen high.

At least see what return you could get for Rasmussen. If you don't like the return, just keep Rasmussen and hope he keeps delivering big.

Randy Arozarena - Seattle Mariners

He was hitless in his last game, but had 10 hits in the five games before that. Arozarena is trending up as a fantasy asset as a result.

Arozarena is having a career season so far, and that makes now a perfect time to sell high on the Seattle outfielder. He's due to regress in time, so I'd be inclined to trade him away after his hot stretch of hitting.

Especially because he's an outfielder, it makes him tradeable. At least see what kind of return he'd net you, because he's bound to lose value as the season moves along.
