Sell High or Buy In? Fantasy Baseball Hitters Trending Up
Recent production can reshape a player's trade value quickly. We examine several hitters whose stock has risen over the past two weeks.
Let's turn our attention to fantasy baseball trade options. Here, we'll look at fantasy baseball hitters trending up over the past two weeks.

Jung Hoo Lee - San Francicso Giants
Lee has the most hits (27) in the league over the past two weeks (May 25-June 8). He has seven more hits than any other player.
He has four doubles and a triple among those hits, plus 12 runs scored, five RBIs and two strikeouts. Lee hasn't walked in that stretch - he's been hit by a pitch and stolen two bases.
Lee is more a deep-league fantasy trade option, as he's owned in just 67% of leagues right now - add him in standard leagues if he's available. Even with his red-hot hitting of late, he'd be one to trade in deeper leagues, because there's no way he keeps hitting this well the rest of the season.
Yordan Alvarez - Houston Astros
Alvarez has seven homers among his 18 total hits over the past two weeks. He has two doubles among the hits too.
He has 17 RBIs, 11 walks, 15 runs scored and 14 strikeouts. Alvarez has been hit by a pitch and a sac fly in that span too.
Alvarez has been a high-end fantasy asset all season, and he's a sell-high trade asset now with how he's hit of late. He has some injury concerns in his career, so I'd at least hear what offers others had for Alvarez.
You should get a king's ransom for Alvarez, and it could improve your fantasy fortunes the rest of the season. At least entertain the idea of trading Alvarez.
Jeremy Pena - Houston Astros
Pena has scored the most runs (16) in the league over the past two weeks.
He has 18 hits, including three doubles and three home runs in that stretch. Pena also has nine RBIs, seven walks, four stolen bases, two HBPs and six strikeouts.
Pena is owned in 89% of leagues, so he's a better deep-league asset, but he's still a trade option in standard leagues. There's a lot of fantasy shortstops out there, so his trade value isn't super high, but he's producing enough (especially now) to acquire and utilize him.
You could get a startable fantasy asset in return, so at least float his name on the trading block.
Matt Chapman - San Francisco Giants
Chapman has driven in a league-high 18 runs over the past two weeks.
He has 14 knocks in that span, including three home runs and three doubles. Chapman has seven runs scored, seven walks, two HBPs, two sac flyouts and seven strikeouts in that stretch.
Chapman is rostered in 70% of leagues, so he's another better deep-league trade asset, while being addable in standard leagues. If you don't believe in him in the long run, then now is a good sell-high time.
Tyler Soderstrom - Athletics
Soderstrom has the second-best on-base percentage (.528) in the league over the past two weeks, only trailing Lee's .596 mark.
He has 17 hits in that span, including five homers and three doubles. Soderstrom has seven runs scored, 10 RBIs, 11 walks and six strikeouts.
Soderstrom is on the rise as a fantasy asset, and is sitting at 91% owned right now. He could still be traded in standard or deeper leagues though.
He was a much better fantasy asset in 2025, so if you believe in him getting back to that level, now is a time to buy into Soderstrom, even though his fantasy value is up. If you don't believe in him, then selling him high now makes sense too.
Oneil Cruz - Pittsburgh Pirates
Cruz has a .510 OBP over the past two weeks, so he's another guy on the rise.
He has 13 hits and 12 walks over that timeframe. Cruz has three homers among those hits, plus 10 RBIs, eight runs scored, five stolen bases, a HBP and 14 strikeouts.
The outfielder can be a good fantasy asset at times, but is kind of an up-and-down hitter. That makes now a time to sell high on Cruz, especially because he's part of a stacked fantasy outfield spot, where there's plenty of other options.
Tristan Peters - Chicago White Sox
Peters has a .474 average over the past two weeks. He has 18 knocks in that span, including nine doubles - the rest of the hits are singles.
Peters has five runs scored, six RBIs, three walks, a HBP and three strikeouts. He has no stolen bases, but has been caught stealing twice in that span.
Peters is not a trade asset outside super deep leagues. He's only rostered in 5% of leagues, so he's more of a waiver wire option than anything. Look into adding him before it's too late.
