6 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters to Target on Friday

We have one more fantasy baseball waiver wire story on hitters for this work week. Let's get right into it!

There aren't a ton of players who I haven't already covered this week, so I used hitting leaders from this month to identify the final four names in this article.

Luke Raley - Seattle Mariners

Raley is up 2.98% today, which brings his overall mark to 26.16%.

He has five hits over his past three contests, with homers in each of the past two games. Raley has nine hits, 14 RBIs, five homers and eight runs scored over 10 games this month.

Over 39 games and 124 plate appearances on the season, Raley has a .268 average and .333 on-base percentage. He has 30 total hits, including 10 homers, four doubles and a triple. Raley has 19 runs scored, 27 RBIs, eight walks and 43 strikeouts.

Raley is primarily an outfielder this season, but could have first base eligibility from past years, which would up his fantasy value. Raley is a sneaky-good fantasy asset, but only a deep-league option right now. He could sneak into standard leagues, but only if he were red hot at the plate.

Dillon Dingler - Detroit Tigers

Dingler has also risen 2.98%, and he now sits at 69.87% overall.

Dingler is riding a four-game hitting streak, with five knocks over that span. He's homered twice in that stretch. Dingler has 10 hits, eight RBIs, five runs scored and three homers over 11 games this month.

In 38 games and 152 plate appearances, Dingler has a .241 average and .307 OBP. He has nine doubles and eight home runs among his 33 total hits, plus 28 RBIs, 16 runs scored, nine walks and 29 strikeouts.

Dingler is starting to get rolling at the plate after a pretty slow start to the year. He has more in him, so he's an intriguing add today. Dingler is a very good deep-league asset, and could be someone to try in standard leagues, especially when his bat is hot, like it is now.

Jonathan Aranda - Tampa Bay Rays

Aranda is rostered in 81% of fantasy leagues at the moment. He was hovering around 66% back on April 24.

Aranda is on a five-game hitting streak, and has been stellar in May. In 12 games and over 49 plate appearances, Aranda has 18 hits, including a double and home run. He has eight RBIs and six runs scored and walks.

In 42 games and 181 plate appearances this season, Aranda has a .284 average and .387 OBP. He has eight homers and five doubles over 42 total knocks. Aranda also has 33 RBIs, 23 runs scored, 25 walks and 42 strikeouts.

His power numbers have lacked a bit this month, but he's still producing a ton at the plate. Him being at a loaded first base spot is what's holding him back from being 100% rostered. Don't be afraid to add and utilize Aranda in all leagues though, as he's doing more than enough to justify it. 

Josh Jung - Texas Rangers

Jung is owned in 76% of leagues now. He was only at 5% rostered a month ago.

He has 17 hits over 12 games this month. Jung has three RBIs, seven runs scored, no walks and seven strikeouts. A few of those numbers are holding him back from being owned in even more leagues.

The third baseman has a .325 average and .372 OBP over 40 games and 164 plate appearances this season. Jung has 13 doubles and five homers among his 49 total hits, plus 20 RBIs, 19 runs scored, a stolen base, 10 walks and 26 strikeouts.

Jung has been a really good fantasy asset of late, even though all his stats aren't top tier. He could be outplaying your fantasy 3B, so consider adding Jung today and rolling with him until his bat cools off.

Michael Busch - Chicago Cubs

Busch is rostered in 75% of fantasy leagues today. He's been between 70-75% over the past month.

He's slowed a bit of late, but still has 14 hits over 13 games this month. Busch has 12 RBIs and walks, three runs scored, a stolen base and six extra-base hits.

In 43 games and 187 plate appearances this season, the Cubs' first baseman has a .231 average and .348 OBP. He has 12 extra-base hits among his 36 total knocks, along with 23 RBIs, 17 runs scored, a stolen base, 27 walks and 43 strikeouts.

His stats are a bit of a mixed bag, but there's enough in there for usage in most leagues. Busch could be a nice short-term fill-in if you have a need at first base or in the infield. Don't overlook him because of a lower average, because between his OBP and additional stats, Busch is still a really good fantasy asset.

Sam Antonacci - Chicago White Sox

Antonacci is up to 32% rostered at the moment. He was under 10% on May 2. 

The rookie has been good since being called up mid-April. Overall in 26 games and 97 plate appearances, Antonacci has a .288 average and .389 OBP. He has eight extra-base hits among his 23 total knocks, plus nine RBIs, 14 runs scored, three stolen bases, six walks and 11 strikeouts.

Antonacci has been really good in May, with 14 hits, three RBIs and stolen bases, nine runs scored, two walks and just eight strikeouts over 12 games and 48 plate appearances.

He's played left field and second base so far this season, and that dual eligibility could up his fantasy value a bit. Antonacci is flying under the radar right now. I think he deserves more love in deeper leagues, so give him some consideration, and keep tabs on him for a possible standard league add down the line.
