Wednesday Waiver Wire: Key Fantasy Baseball Adds for Today
A midweek look at the top fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups, including streaming pitchers and emerging bats.
In the middle of the work week, let's go over another batch of fantasy baseball waiver wire options.
Here are our stories from Monday and Tuesday, plus a starting pitcher streaming article for Wednesday.
Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Spencer Arrighetti - Houston Astros
Arrighetti is up 4.96% and sits at 22.26% overall now.
Arrighetti will make his season debut tonight as the Astros continue to try to find healthy arms to make starts. He gets a stellar matchup against the Rockies, and the game is in Houston, helping Arrighetti's outlook even more.
He's pitched 36 big league games over the past two years. Arrighetti has an 8-18 record and 4.69 earned run average. He has 202 strikeouts over 180 1/3 innings, so that's a nice boost for his fantasy value. He's also walked 85 batters, and sits with a career WHIP of 1.41, which isn't very good.
It's all about the matchup for Arrighetti today. Colorado is a great matchup, especially away from home. I still only like trying Arrighetti in deeper leagues, and think there's better standard league streamers out there.
Eduardo Rodriguez - Arizona Diamondbacks
Rodriguez has been added in 5.28% of leagues, bringing his overall mark to 51.34%.
Rodriguez has been stellar to start 2026. In his first three starts, Rodriguez is 1-0 with a 0.50 ERA. He's allowed two runs (one earned) on 13 hits and five walks, while striking out 11 over 18 innings.
He will make his fourth start of the season on Wednesday against the Orioles. That's a pretty solid matchup on paper, but Rodriguez is more on the rise because of what he's done to this point of the season.
He's worth streaming in all deeper leagues at least. I also don't mind trying him in standard leagues, but think there could be some better options out there. Assess several options before determining if Rodriguez is worth the add today.
Jorge Soler - Los Angeles Angels
Soler has been picked up in 3.66% of leagues and now sits at 51.32% overall.
Soler is up to a .231 average and .342 on-base percentage over his first 18 games and 79 plate appearances of 2026. He has three doubles and five home runs among his 15 total knocks, plus 18 RBIs, 13 runs scored, 10 walks and 26 strikeouts.
He's mostly been the team's designated hitter, but should be eligible in the outfield from past seasons. Soler has three hits over the past two games, and two of his homers over the past five contests. He has seven RBIs and five runs scored in that five-game span.
Soler is at a stacked fantasy position, but he's worth more fantasy usage. I really like him best in deeper leagues, and only would try him in standard leagues on a short-term basis. He's just not consistent enough for full ownership in standard leagues.
Randy Vasquez - San Francisco Giants
Vasquez is up 2.55% to 76.45% overall.
Vasquez is another streaming option on Wednesday. He gets the Mariners.
Vasquez has been a star early on, going 1-0 with a 1.02 ERA over 17 2/3 innings so far. He has allowed two runs on 15 hits and four walks, while striking out 19 batters.
The matchup tonight is solid, but it's his work so far that has fantasy owners adding Vasquez today. At his ownership mark, he should be owned and utilized in all deeper leagues, and he's a good standard league option, and can be held until his numbers dip.
Jake Bauers - Milwaukee Brewers
Bauers is up to 23.24% today. He was below 15% owned on April 11.
He has a line to a lot of playing time with Andrew Vaughn, Christian Yelich and Jackson Chourio out for Milwaukee. Bauers has been starting against right-handed pitchers, while hitting in the heart of the team's lineup - both solid things for his fantasy outlook.
In 15 games and across 55 plate appearances, Bauers has delivered some too. He has a .240 average and .309 OBP, but 13 RBIs, 10 runs scored, two stolen bases, five walks and 11 strikeouts. He has five homers and a double among his 12 hits so far.
Bauers is producing enough to add and utilize him in deeper leagues. Him being eligible at first base and the outfield hold him back (as those are loaded positions), but deep-league owners could benefit from rostering/starting Bauers for the time being. Do it while his playing time is steady, as it could drop when Milwaukee is healthier.
