Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Targets: Rising Adds to Grab Now

A deeper look at trending waiver wire adds, including a top prospect debut, hot bats, and strong streaming options.

After taking a look at some fantasy baseball waiver wire/streaming options based on weekly projections, let's go over some more traditional waiver wire options.

Also be sure to check out Monday's starting pitcher streaming article.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!

Noah Schultz - Chicago White Sox

Schultz is up 20.12%, which brings his overall mark to 42.17%. He is being called up to the big leagues, and is a high-end prospect, so it makes sense to see him rising quickly.

He will be starting on Tuesday against the Rays. That's a pretty solid matchup on paper, but it's his high pedigree as a prospect that really has him surging.

Schultz is the No. 46 prospect in the MLB. The 22-year-old left-handed pitcher was the team's first-round pick back in 2022, and will be making his MLB debut on Tuesday.

He has a 55-grade overall as a prospect, with his best pitch being a 70-grade slider. Schultz has a 60-grade fastball and 45-grade changeup, with a 50 for his control.

In parts of four minor league years, he has worked 202 1/3 innings over 53 appearances. Schultz is 8-11 with a 2.94 earned run average. He has a .219 average against him, while striking out 248 batters and walking 77.

He's been a top-end prospect since being drafted, so we'll see if he can shine right away for Chicago. He's worth streaming in deeper leagues, and even some standard leagues because of his first matchup.

If he excels in the first start, you can bet he'll be added in more standard leagues, so be ready to pounce if he looks good on Tuesday.

Angel Martinez - Cleveland Guardians

Martinez is up 16.45% today, which brings his overall mark to 35.84%.

Martinez has a .310 average and .383 on-base percentage over 14 games and 48 plate appearances this season. He has three doubles and a home run amongst his 13 hits. Martinez has six RBIs, seven runs scored, four stolen bases, three walks and only six strikeouts.

There's a lot to like in those stats, and he's importantly playing daily. Martinez has moved up to the first or second spot in the order of late, but that's been because Cleveland has faced a bunch of left-handed pitchers. He was eighth against the last right-handed starting pitcher Cleveland faced.

He's delivering enough to add in deeper leagues today. If he's eligible at second base from past seasons, streaming him in standard leagues isn't the worst idea out there. I do think he'll be a better deep-league asset in the long run, but he's worth keeping tabs on in case he keeps delivering.

Grant Holmes - Atlanta Braves

Holmes has been added in 4.17% of leagues so far today, which brings his overall mark to 41.44%.

Holmes is another starting pitcher streaming option for Monday. He will be facing the Marlins, who are a pretty good matchup on paper.

In three starts so far, Holmes is 1-1 with a 2.55 ERA. He's allowed five runs on 11 hits and eight walks, while striking out 14 batters.

After those starts, and going into a good matchup, I like streaming Holmes on Monday. He's worth deep-league adds for sure, and is an option in standard leagues too.

Mauricio Dubon - Atlanta Braves

Dubon is hitting in the bottom half of the Braves' order, but is delivering so much that he's on the rise. He's up to 70% owned - he was at 5% a couple days into the season.

In 15 games and 59 plate appearances so far, Dubon has a .351 average and .373 OBP. He has 20 hits, including six doubles and two home runs. Dubon also has 11 RBIs, 10 runs scored, two walks and nine strikeouts.

Another thing working in his favor is that he could be eligible all over the place. That helps make up for him hitting lower in the Atlanta order. Dubon is already producing enough to own in all deeper leagues, and he's now a standard league option with some extended success.

Jeffrey Springs - Athletics

Springs is up another 8.59% today, which brings his overall mark to 55.42%.

Springs is another starting pitcher on the rise. His next start isn't until Tuesday though. He has a solid matchup coming against the Rangers.

He's coming off a stellar start and is 2-0 with a 1.47 ERA over 18 1/3 innings in his three total outings. Springs has allowed three runs on eight hits and six walks, while punching out 15 batters.

He's had great fantasy success in the past, and could be trending toward a bounceback year after some struggles in 2025. Get him added in all deeper leagues, and some standard leagues, before it's too late. Another good start or two could get him to 100% rostered.

Josh Bell - Minnesota Twins

Bell has been added in 3.79% of leagues so far today. He's up to 45.18% overall.

He typically hits in the heart of the team's order, which puts him in a good spot to do damage. Bell is most importantly playing daily.

Bell has a .275 average and .397 OBP over 16 games and 63 plate appearances. He has four doubles and three homers among his 14 total knocks, plus 12 RBIs, 14 runs scored, 10 walks and 17 strikeouts.

He strikes out a bit too much, but he's delivering enough elsewhere to offset the Ks. Bell plays first base, which is a loaded fantasy spot, but he's also among the fantasy leaders on the season, so he's deserving of more ownership. At least utilize him until his bat cools off a bit, especially if you need another 1B or infielder.
