Andy Pages and Jeremy Pena Among Available Fantasy Baseball Hitters Trending Up

Looking at several fantasy hitters who have delivered big numbers over the past 14 days.

It's been nearly two weeks since we last took a look at fantasy baseball players who are trending up and down, so let's dive back into that series.

In this story, we'll look at hitters trending up over the past two weeks (April 26-May 10). We'll break things down by different stats (we won't cover every top hitter at each stat).

Explore the best in-season tool to manage lineup/start decisions including waiver pickups, projections, trade suggestions, trade value charts, rest of season rankings, power rankings, and tons more with Fantasy Assistant.

Most Hits

Philadelphia's Trea Turner led the league in that span with 25 total hits. He had a homer and three doubles among the knocks. Turner had 12 runs scored, seven RBIs, two walks, three stolen bases and six strikeouts as well.

Turner is a locked-in fantasy starter in just about every league. He doesn't hit for a ton of power, but strong overall numbers otherwise make him a good fantasy asset. Turner is outperforming his career marks, so he's also a sell-high candidate if you want to cash in on his top trade value.

LA Dodgers' Freddie Freeman and Boston's Rafael Devers each had 23 hits over that span.

Freeman had four homers, three doubles and a triple among his hits. He drove in 19 runs, scored 13 times, walked eight times and struck out on nine occasions.

Freeman is still one of the top fantasy hitters in the game, and an injury-hindered start to his season is way in the past. He's another must own and start player. He's hitting and getting on base way above his career marks, so if you see big regression coming, or are worried about him getting injured, now might be a good time to sell high - I'd prefer just to ride with a top-end fantasy hitter like Freeman though.

Devers has five doubles and four homers among his 23 hits over the past couple weeks. He has 15 RBIs, nine runs scored and walks, along with a stolen base and 11 strikeouts.

He might not want to play first base, but Devers can rack up the hits with the best of them. Strikeouts continue to be a nuisance, but Devers is performing close to his career marks after a shaky start to the season. I'd ride the surge with Devers instead of looking to sell high.

LA Dodgers' Andy Pages is a bit of a surprise name among the leaders in hits. He had 22 knocks over the past couple weeks, including three doubles, two homers and a triple. Pages also has 12 RBIs and strikeouts, 11 runs scored, two walks and four stolen bases in that span.

Pages was rostered in just 5% of leagues on April 27, but is way up to 62% now. He's posting way better numbers than he did in his rookie season, but this could be part of his improvement as a player, not just a hot start to the season. He's worth rostering in all deeper redraft leagues now, and is getting some standard league love now too. Assess your team situation and see if Pages is a better fantasy option than someone you currently roster.

Houston's Jeremy Pena and Athletics' Jacob Wilson have 20 hits each.

Pena had four doubles and two homers among his 20 knocks, along with seven runs scored, 11 RBIs, two walks, a stolen base and eight strikeouts.

Pena is producing better than any of his first three seasons in the big leagues. It could be improvement as a 27-year-old hitter nears his prime. Pena is owned in 78% of leagues, and would be more rostered if he wasn't at a stacked fantasy position. He's another case where you need to assess your other fantasy options at shortstop, because he might be outperforming them.

Wilson has three doubles among his 20 hits over the past couple weeks. He has seven runs scored, eight RBIs, six walks, a stolen base and just three strikeouts in that span.

Wilson has been a big early-season surprise to a lot of people. He only played 28 games in his first MLB season in 2024, and nobody saw the 23-year-old sitting with a .358 average and .386 OBP across his first 38 games this season. He might not hit for a ton of power, but his overall numbers are good enough to roster in most fantasy setups - he's still available to 18% of you, so again check his numbers against your fantasy shortstop's numbers to see if Wilson is a better option.

Most Runs Scored

LA Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts are No. 1 and 2 in runs scored over the past two weeks.

Ohtani has seven doubles, three triples and six homers among his 21 total hits, along with 12 RBIs, 13 walks, five stolen bases and 17 strikeouts. Ohtani has been on a tear of late, and is closing in on Aaron Judge for the top fantasy player in the game.

Betts has a double, triple and homer among his 16 hits over the past couple weeks. He also has 12 RBIs, five walks, a stolen base and seven strikeouts in that span.

Betts is still underperforming a bit compared to past seasons and his career marks. If you aren't super high on Betts, now would be a time to sell him, but I think better days are ahead and that his trade value is still down a bit. Wait it out and Betts should get back up there with the top-end fantasy hitters in the game.

Judge is tied with Betts at 14 runs scored over the past couple weeks. He has seven homers, three doubles and a triple over 19 total knocks in that span. Judge also has 11 RBIs, six walks and 12 strikeouts over that span.

While Ohtani has been great of late, Judge is still the clear No. 1 fantasy hitter in the game. He's tough to acquire, and an overpay is likely needed to make something happen.

Detroit's Trey Sweeney is a lower-level name on the top runs scored list. He's scored 13 runs over the timeframe we're using. Sweeney has a double and two homers among his 17 total hits in that span, along with seven RBIs and walks, a stolen base and 16 strikeouts.

Sweeney has upped his numbers in his second MLB season. He's a waiver wire option, not a huge trade asset. Sweeney is owned in just 10% of leagues, but with more strong results, that mark could grow in a hurry.

Most Stolen Bases

Chicago White Sox' Luis Robert Jr. leads the MLB with eight stolen bases over the past couple weeks. He has a double and three homers among his 12 total hits in that timeframe. Robert also has racked up 10 RBIs, six walks, eight runs scored and 14 strikeouts.

Robert is one of the more overrated fantasy hitters every season in my eyes. He's hitting just .186 and getting on base at a .293 clip this season, yet is still owned in 78% of leagues, and that was over 80% until a knee injury has held him out of action.

Robert is still a solid deep-league option, but I think the standard league owners who are rostering him are wasting a roster spot. It's fine to stream him when he's going well at the plate, but Robert had just two hits over the past four games going into Sunday.

Kansas City's Maikel Garcia, Cincinnati's Matt McLain and LA Angels' Zach Neto have seven stolen bases each over the past couple weeks.

Garcia has four doubles, a triple and two homers among his 10 knocks in that span. He also has seven RBIs, six runs scored and walks and nine strikeouts.

Garcia is producing career-high numbers in his fourth MLB season. He's up to 97% rostered after sitting around 67% on April 30. Until further notice, Garcia should be rostered and utilized in all leagues.

McLain has a homer among his eight hits over the past couple weeks. He's walked eight times and been hit by two pitches to reach base in other ways. McLain also has six runs scored, five RBIs and 20 strikeouts over the timeframe we are using.

McLain has been a fantasy disappointment to this point of the season, but he's been a bit better of late. He's capable of getting hot, and staying hot the rest of the season, so keep an eye on him. McLain is currently available in 16% of leagues.

Neto has three doubles and two homers among 16 total knocks over the past two weeks. He also has 10 runs scored, four RBIs and walks and 15 strikeouts in that span.

Neto got a late start to his season, but is currently producing career-best numbers. He's still available in 30% of leagues, which won't last much longer if he keeps producing at similar numbers.
