Anthony Seigler | Fantasy Outlook

Seigler seizes the leadoff spot with a torrid start since his June promotion

Seigler has been a spark plug for the fifth-place Red Sox since being recalled to replace the injured Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Over the last seven days, the 27-year-old has flourished in the leadoff role, batting .333 with a .407 on-base percentage and his first career Major League home run off Gerrit Cole. With Kiner-Falefa and Marcelo Mayer both on the shelf, Seigler has cemented himself as the everyday starter at second base for a Boston squad currently sitting at 37-48.

While his current .318 average through 14 games is a massive leap from the .190 mark he posted in limited 2025 action, there is evidence of growth in his approach. His elite .388 OBP this season is supported by a healthy walk rate, though our models expect some regression toward a .222 average as the sample size grows. Despite the potential for a cooling period, his consistent contact and status as the primary table-setter provide a safe floor in points leagues.

Boston continues their road trip with three remaining games against the Angels starting Friday. The matchups are highly enticing, specifically on Saturday and Sunday when Seigler faces Sam Aldegheri and his 4.85 ERA, followed by Ryan Johnson, who has struggled to a 7.40 ERA and 1.52 WHIP. Given his prime lineup real estate and these favorable upcoming pitchers, he is an excellent middle-infield streaming option. Start.
