Notable Fantasy Football Injuries from Week 14: Daniel Jones, De'Von Achane, Zach Ertz and More
Looking at several NFL injuries that occurred on Sunday in week 14 of the regular season.
Week 14 in the NFL regular season was another tough one for fantasy football injuries. Let's go over some of them below.
Keep checking back to FantasySP to see what waiver wire options might be worth adding after some of these injuries.

Daniel Jones Out for the Year
If you haven't heard by now, Jones is done for the season with a torn Achilles.
It's a devastating blow to the Colts, who were pushing for a playoff spot. Rookie Riley Leonard is the only other quarterback on the Colts' active roster. Anthony Richardson Sr. is on the injured reserve list, while Brett Rypien is on the practice squad.
We'll keep an eye on who is expected to start at quarterback for Indy in week 14, but anyone is a downgrade from Jones. Richardson would probably give the team the best chance to win, but his status is up in the air as he hasn't been cleared for football activities yet.
Jones should be dropped in all redraft fantasy formats. Whoever ends up starting at QB for Indy will likely only be a deep-league starting option, at least for week 15.
The injury to Jones hurts the whole Colts' offense, which is led by running back Jonathan Taylor. You should still be starting him every week, but his upside will be hampered until a quarterback proves they can lead this team.
Michael Pittman, Tyler Warren and Alec Pierce are the team's other notable fantasy options, and all their fantasy outlooks take a hit with Jones now out. I'd pretty much write off Josh Downs after Jones' injury.
More QB Injuries
Las Vegas' Geno Smith, New York Jets' Tyrod Taylor and Washington's Jayden Daniels all left week 14 games with injuries.
Smith has a shoulder injury. Kenny Pickett would likely start if Smith cannot go in week 15 or beyond.
Smith's injury doesn't alter the team's fantasy outlook on offense all that much. Going from Smith to Pickett isn't a big change, and maybe it could even jumpstart the offense a bit.
Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers are the two fantasy assets you want to be starting on a weekly basis. Tre Tucker is a better deep-league option at this point. Jack Bech stood out a bit in week 14, but he's just a deep-league option as well.
Brady Cook replaced Taylor, who has a groin injury. Justin Fields could get more starts if Taylor cannot go in a coming game.
The Jets' offense is already a mess, and Taylor had been the team's top starting QB to this point. A change to anyone else would hurt every other offensive player on the Jets.
Mason Taylor, Breece Hall, Adonai Mitchell and John Metchie are all fantasy starting options in some capacity. All are risky standard league starters because of the state of the offense as a whole. All are decent deep-league options, but can still disappoint, like most of them did this week.
Daniels injured his left elbow again - I don't know why he was playing in the first place. Coach Dan Quinn said he was held out for precautionary reasons, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Daniels shut down for the season.
Marcus Mariota will start for the Commanders if Daniels cannot go in a game to come. He's not the fantasy asset that Daniels is, but it doesn't really alter the fantasy outlooks of other offensive players all that much.
Another Washington Injury
Tight end Zach Ertz suffered an ugly-looking knee injury and is likely to be done for the season (and maybe his career).
That could open the door for Ben Sinnott to finally emerge as the team's tight end, so that's a name to keep an eye on.
Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel Sr. will likely take on even more with Ertz out. Having Mariota back there doesn't hurt either receiver's fantasy outlook.
Chris Rodriguez looks like the best fantasy back in Washington for now, but he's more a flex-level option. Jacory Croskey-Merritt also might help out more with Ertz out, and Daniels banged up.
There's nobody else on the Commanders who is really worth a fantasy roster spot right now.
Ertz should be dropped, while deep-league owners add Sinnott. Everyone should keep Sinnott in mind for the closing games to the regular season in case he pops down the stretch.
Other Tight End Injuries
Cleveland's David Njoku, Pittsburgh's Darnell Washington and Seattle's Elijah Arroyo all left with injuries.
Njoku has a knee injury. At this point, he's out of the standard league fantasy picture, which opens the door more for Harold Fannin to deliver.
Fannin needs to be added after what he did in week 14. Check back for the tight end waiver wire article for week 15 for more explanation on that.
Washington has a concussion, so he likely will miss at least week 15. He might not be a huge fantasy asset, but his absence hurts the Steelers' offense a bit. It could help Jonnu Smith or Pat Freiermuth deliver more from the tight end spots.
Arroyo has a knee injury. His absence will help AJ Barner out. Barner is already the team's top fantasy TE, but if Arroyo were to miss games, then Barner could be even more involved than he typically is.
Running Back Injuries
Among the running back injuries in week 14 are Baltimore's Keaton Mitchell, Miami's De'Von Achane and Houston's Nick Chubb.
Mitchell isn't a huge part of the Baltimore offense, but if he misses time, it could help Rasheen Ali to a bigger role.
Derrick Henry will handle most of the backfield work, but in a high-scoring game, or in a game where receiving backs are set up better, Ali could be a sneaky good fantasy option with Mitchell out of the picture.
Achane has a rib injury, but was available to return, so hopefully he isn't forced to miss any time. His absence would be absolutely massive for the Dolphins' offense, and for Achane's fantasy owners.
Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II are the backs who would pick up the slack if Achane is out. If you are lacking at running back, or need to protect yourself in case Achane misses time, Wright is the guy to grab first.
If Achane is out, it will put more on the plate of Wright, Gordon, Jaylen Waddle, Tua Tagovailoa and others. Down Tyreek Hill already, Miami cannot afford to also be without Achane, who is their best player.
Achane is one of the top fantasy players in the game, so his fantasy owners need to prepare for a week possibly without him. Hopefully you are set at running back, and can reconfigure your lineup in case Achane misses week 15, or more.
Chubb lost his lead role in the Houston backfield to Woody Marks, but he was still somewhat involved since becoming RB2. Chubb being out, or hampered, boosts the fantasy stock of Marks moving forward.
Chubb has a rib injury as well. We'll see if it ends up sidelining him for the foreseeable future, or if he's able to remain in the backup role.
Marks ended up with 26 carries on Sunday night, which shows what his fantasy upside could be, especially in a good matchup. Marks needs to be owned in every fantasy league by the time week 15 kicks off.
Marks doesn't need to be starting in every league, but he'll be a very good fantasy option from here on out, even if Chubb doesn't miss any time.
