Late-Round Target Option With Deep League Appeal
Jonnu Smith enters the season looking to build on a high-volume 2024 campaign where he hauled in 88 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns. Although his production fluctuated at times throughout his career, including a quieter stretch last year, his ability to command targets out of the tight end position keeps him on the fantasy radar as a potential sleeper option in deeper formats.
Given his minimal roster ownership and zero draft market traction, fantasy managers can essentially treat him as a late-round flyer or waiver wire target. There is clear pass-catching upside if he carves out a consistent role, but his volatility makes him difficult to trust as an every-week starter out of the gate.
Our models suggest keeping expectations modest as a secondary tight end option on rosters, banking primarily on matchups and bye-week coverage rather than locked-in weekly production. Monitor how his usage shapes up early in the year before committing significant bench space.
