Facing an Uphill Battle for Backfield Touches

Kaleb Johnson enters his second NFL campaign fighting for relevance after a quiet rookie year where he averaged just 2.5 yards per carry across 28 attempts. Pittsburgh's backfield is led by Jaylen Warren and Rico Dowdle, leaving Johnson battling for depth work while camp reports note difficulty creating beyond what is blocked.

In draft markets, Johnson's ADP has climbed from 321 in early July to roughly 271, even as his roster share slid down to 4%. In full PPR leagues, our models view this market movement with skepticism, projecting him for only 25 carries, 100 rushing yards, and two total touchdowns as a reserve.

Barring unexpected injuries ahead of him on the depth chart, Johnson holds minimal standalone fantasy utility. Managers in redraft leagues can comfortably leave him on waiver wires until he carves out meaningful offensive snaps.
