Josh Morrissey | Fantasy Outlook
Morrissey remains questionable with upper-body injury ahead of matchup with Hurricanes
Josh Morrissey remains questionable heading into Saturday's home clash against the Carolina Hurricanes at Canada Life Centre as he continues to nurse an upper-body injury suffered earlier this month. His fantasy start rate has plummeted over 60 percentage points down to roughly 32% as managers await clarity on his return. Winnipeg enters as a home underdog against a first-place Hurricanes squad, with Carolina likely turning to Pyotr Kochetkov (unconfirmed) in net in what shapes up as a higher-scoring environment. If Morrissey can’t go, Neal Pionk will maintain quarterbacking duties on the top power-play unit.
Given his uncertain health, our projections assign Morrissey a low point expectation with light shot volume and minimal peripheral output for tonight. Across Winnipeg's three-game weekly schedule, which concludes tonight, our weekly models projected ~0.5–1.0 point and just under two shots on goal overall. Even if he receives clearance prior to puck drop, re-injury risk and limited practice time make deploying him a substantial gamble without confirmed activation. Fantasy managers should leave the veteran blueliner in reserve until he officially returns to the ice. Today’s action: Bench.
