Let's keep the dynasty fantasy football overviews coming by taking a peek at the Miami Dolphins.

We already looked at the Eagles, Chiefs, Lions, Bills, Ravens, Vikings, Commanders, Chargers, Packers, Texans, Rams, Steelers, Buccaneers, Broncos, Bears, Colts, Cowboys and Jaguars. I plan to cover every NFL team, so keep checking back for more!

Quarterbacks

Tua Tagovailoa is the team's quarterback. He's had health issues over his career, so his long-term outlook is murky.

He's not a top-10 dynasty quarterback as a result. Tagovailoa being 27 years old also works against him.

Tagovailoa only played in 11 games last season, and he has only topped 13 games in one of his five total years in the league. He has great upside if he can stay healthy, but the risk is too great for a lot of fantasy/dynasty owners.

I'm fine utilizing Tagovailoa on a contending dynasty team, otherwise I'd move him for a younger asset or picks. I'd make sure to have a backup plan in case Tua gets hurt again though.

Really, if you have Tagovailoa as one of your starting QBs, you probably aren't a top-end contender, unless the team around him is rock solid. Tua can still help fantasy teams for as long as he can hang in the league though.

Zach Wilson is the top backup, while rookie Quinn Ewers is also on the roster. Wilson has some dynasty value left as a 26-year-old, and especially now as the top backup to an oft-injured QB. Protecting Tagovailoa with Wilson in deeper dynasty setups makes a lot of sense.

Ewers was a seventh-round pick of the team this offseason. Usually those guys have uphill climbs, but Ewers landed in about as good of a spot as he could have. If Tagovailoa's injury woes continue, Ewers could maybe become the starting QB in a couple years. He's only 22, so he's worth stashing in some deeper leagues for sure.

Running Backs

De'Von Achane is the team's top back going into 2025. He's my No. 4 dynasty back right now.

Jaylen Wright and Alexander Mattison are a couple veteran backup options, while rookie Ollie Gordon II is also worth mentioning.

Achane took off in his second year, totaling 1,499 yards and 12 scores over 17 games. The most important number there might actually be the games played mark.

He proved he can get through a season, and took massive leaps forward in his redraft and dynasty values as a result. Achane is just 23 years old, and he's going to be the centerpiece of this offense for years to come.

Achane has top-five fantasy upside for the next several years, and because he's not a bruising RB, he might be able to last a bit longer in the NFL. He's a dynasty asset to build around, whether you are contending or building a team up.

Wright had 257 yards and no scores across 15 games in his rookie season. He's set to take on a larger role this season after being a fourth-round pick in 2024.

He is worth stashing in some dynasty leagues, especially if Achane is your top back. Wright has dynasty value, but likely would only be a big-time fantasy asset if he's moved, or Achane gets hurt. Miami has produced a couple notable fantasy backs in the same season in the past, and fantasy owners are hoping Wright and Achane can do the same someday.

Mattison is 27 years old, so he'll be the old guy in the RB room. He has at least 700 total yards and combined for eight scores over the past two years in Minnesota and Las Vegas.

He could compete for the No. 2 role in Miami, but I think the younger backs will have the advantage. Mattison would benefit most from an injury ahead of him, or getting a change of scenery to a team with less established backs. Mattison has some dynasty value left, but should only be viewed as a secondary option. Some might want to sell him high, because I only see his dynasty value dropping from here.

Gordon was a sixth-round pick of the team this offseason. He enjoyed a strong collegiate career, and really was only heavily used in two seasons, so he's got some tread on his tires yet.

Gordon is 21 years old, and has the chance to settle into that backup role to Achane eventually. He's worth stashing in a good amount of dynasty leagues, but you might have to hope for some luck in order for Gordon to eventually be a weekly fantasy starting option.

Wide Receivers

Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are still around to lead the wide receiver room. Malik Washington is the other projected starter, while Erik Ezukanma, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Tahj Washington are some backup options.

None of those guys are top-10 dynasty wideouts right now, and I don't see any of them ever getting there again.

Hill is the best of the bunch, but is 31 years old now. He regressed last season, with an injury impacting him all season.

Hill is still a good fantasy asset, and is underrated going into this season. He has dynasty value too, but should only be rostered by contending teams, otherwise I'd sell him while he still has some value.

Waddle is 26 years old, but functions best as a team's No. 2 receiver, so he's not top-10 material. He dealt with injuries last season (and over his career) and also regressed without Tagovailoa around.

Waddle is still a good dynasty asset even as his team's No. 2 wideout. He'd be best on contending teams, but rebuilding teams could roster him and hope he regains some value before looking to sell him high.

Malik Washington is 24 years old and produced 248 yards and a score over 14 games in his rookie season. He's more of a depth receiver in fantasy leagues, but is young enough to still have dynasty value and be appealing for all owners.

The rebuilding teams are a better fit for Washington. He isn't likely to erupt, so contenders aren't going to benefit much from him this season.

Westbrook-Ikhine had a breakout season in 2024, but that was mostly because he caught nine touchdowns. He only had 497 yards, and has still failed to go over 500 yards in any of his five NFL seasons.

The 28-year-old is more a No. 3 or 4 receiver in the real world, while being a depth piece in deeper fantasy setups. It'd take an injury to thrust him into a prominent role. His value isn't likely to ever be higher, so now is a sell-high time.

Ezukanma has just 25 yards over his first three NFL seasons, in which he's played just five games. He has very little dynasty value right now, and I don't foresee that changing.

Tahj Washington didn't play a game in his rookie season. He was a seventh-round pick last year, so it's a big year for him. The 24-year-old needs to show something in order to hold on to the little dynasty value he has.

Tight Ends

Darren Waller is the new top tight end in Miami after unretiring. Pharaoh Brown, Julian Hill and Tanner Conner are some additional options at the position. None of them are near my dynasty top 10, and nobody ever will be.

Waller didn't play last season, and has seen his production drop off dramatically since 2020. He's 32 years old and is unlikely to be more than an occasional starting option.

His dynasty value isn't very high either. Only roster him on a contending team, but don't expect a ton from him.

The team has been looking into adding Noah Fant, so Miami clearly isn't satisfied with its TE room. That says a lot, and fantasy owners should take heed when looking at Waller.

Brown is 31 years old and has just 751 yards and three scores over seven NFL seasons. He's joining his sixth team and won't be a big fantasy asset ever, even if he were starting or playing most of the snaps.

Hill is 25, but only has 148 yards and no scores over 31 NFL games in two years. Conner has 16 yards and no scores over three years and 24 games. They are just bodies for the TE room, and have miniscule dynasty values.
