Five starting pitchers with good matchups on Tuesday who are widely available in fantasy leagues.
Let's jump right in today and look at five starting pitchers in action on Tuesday who have good matchups and are widely available in fantasy leagues.
Most stats are from MLB.com, as are the probable pitchers. The full streamer rankings are listed at the bottom.

Andrew Alvarez, Washington Nationals @ San Francisco Giants
Alvarez has been working mostly as a reliever and a guy who comes in after an opener. I've talked about openers being bad fantasy players, but the guys who follow the opener get the added benefit of facing the top of the order one less time and not needing to go five innings to pick up a win, so there's a little boost from that. Alvarez has been average or better in most areas, including walk and strikeout rates and hits, runs, and home runs allowed. He only has 43 2/3 career innings to his name, but Alvarez has been good in that time.
The Giants still rank lower in full-season stats, but they have been much better over the past 30 days. Their true level of performance is probably somewhere between the putrid early season and the recent hot streak, but if they continue this way much longer, they will be off our target list completely. San Fran shows up here today more because of the pitcher they are facing than their own toils, though all is not perfect.
Alvarez is a low-to-mid-level streamer. If this was earlier in the season, when the Giants were struggling hard, he would be another level higher, but since San Francisco has figured things out recently, Alvarez doesn't have as good of an outlook.
Stephen Kolek, Kansas City Royals vs. Texas Rangers
In the same 30-day span referenced above, Texas has been right in the middle in about everything. They performed worse prior to that point, but they haven't had a big turnaround the way that the Giants have. Instead, the Rangers have huge home and away splits, looking like a bottom-10 offense in their home park and an average (or better) offensive team on the road. Globe Life Field, Texas' home park, is a major pitcher's haven, helping to skew their performance.
Kolek is very good with walks but well below average with strikeouts, leaving him with a lower fantasy ceiling than he would have otherwise. He was successful last year with the same profile, and Kolek has again had a good start to 2026, giving up just 29 hits and 16 runs (14 earned) in 38 innings. The only thing holding Kolek back from higher fantasy ownership is his lack of Ks.
Kolek is a low-to-mid-level streamer. His performance has been good, but the lack of strikeouts combined with this game taking place in Kansas City instead of Texas gives him a lower ceiling and floor than we might like.
Dustin May, St. Louis Cardinals @ New York Mets
After a rough start to the season, May has been better recently, though he is still giving up some runs. His strikeout, walk, and home run rates are all good, while his work limiting hits and runs has been around average overall. I was ready to give up on May as anything more than a lower-level pitcher after his first two starts, but he has turned things around enough to have real streaming value.
The Mets' season-long numbers are bad, but like the Giants, they look a little better over the past 30 days. They top out as middling in that time, but it's a real improvement over the moribund performance they put together at the beginning of the season. Unlike San Francisco, I still feel good about targeting New York as often as possible until they prove they can sustain average offensive numbers.
May is a mid-level streamer. He has looked at least decent in all areas after the bad start, and the matchup is still a positive one despite New York's modest improvements.
Trevor Rogers, Baltimore Orioles vs. Seattle Mariners
The Mariners are another group doing better over the past month; with most of our target teams, though, they couldn't have been much worse. Seattle also went on a winning streak, claiming victory in eight straight games with sweeps over the A's and Diamondbacks before losing three of four prior to Monday (they won again yesterday). This team was one game from the World Series last season, so it's not a surprise to see them improve, but I'm still cautiously optimistic about targeting them for now.
Rogers has been struggling fairly consistently, but he did have a good outing in his last start against Boston (when he was also listed here as a streamer): 5 2/3 innings with just one run and one walk, though his three strikeouts were a little too low. Rogers has been well below average with Ks all season on top of struggling to limit runs, hits, and home runs, and his fantasy value has cratered as a result.
Rogers is a low-level streamer. Despite coming off one of his best starts of the season, Rogers has shown much more bad than good in 2026, and his lack of strikeouts leaves him with a lower ceiling than we would like.
Kai-Wei Teng, Houston Astros @ Los Angeles Angels
Teng was working out of the bullpen until mid-May, joining a six-man rotation initially. In five starts, Teng has averaged around 4 2/3 innings, 3.8 hits, 2 earned runs, 2.8 walks, and 4.4 strikeouts. That's OK, but two back-to-back outings in the middle of that stretch combined for 11 shutout innings with 13 strikeouts, showing Teng's best. He is generally good with Ks while walking too many guys, leading to giving up too many runs, but there's some intrigue.
Los Angeles is another group that has been at least middling over the past month with worse overall numbers. Most importantly for our purposes, they keep striking out at a high rate, and they have the most batter Ks on the season, more than 10 ahead of the next-closest team. There are strong parts of the Angels' lineup but plenty of weak spots as well.
Teng is a low-to-mid-level streamer with some upside due to his good strikeout work. His control can be an issue, but Teng generally does fine limiting hitters when they make contact, giving him a decent outlook when everything is right.
