A mix of injuries and declining production has opened the door to roster cuts—here are four fantasy baseball players you may be able to move on from.
After checking out several fantasy baseball waiver wire options, it's time to discuss some drop options. This will also serve as an injury update, as several players are being dropped after suffering injuries.
Here are waiver wire stories on pitchers and hitters, plus some more waiver wire/streaming options based on weekly projections.

Brendan Donovan - Seattle Mariners
Donovan is down to 75% rostered in fantasy baseball leagues after hitting the 10-day injured list. He has a left groin muscle strain and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks or so.
It's his second IL stint already this season, and some fantasy owners are over the injuries and are deciding to drop him today.
It's a bummer that injuries have slowed him, as he has a .274 average and .386 on-base percentage over 25 contests and 101 plate appearances this season.
Donovan has 23 hits so far, including four doubles, three home runs and a triple. He has eight RBIs, nine runs scored, a stolen base, 11 walks and 15 strikeouts.
He was playing third base for Seattle, which has struggled offensively for much of the season. Losing Donovan isn't going to help matters. Donovan should be eligible at other spots from past seasons, so he's a pretty valuable fantasy asset to roster.
If he's not playing or active, he's droppable, especially if you have limited IR spots to utilize. Keep tabs on Donovan, but don't be afraid to drop him, mostly in standard leagues, as he's out with his injury.
Ryan O'Hearn - Pittsburgh Pirates
O'Hearn is rostered in about 87% of fantasy leagues. He hit the injured list with a moderate right quad strain. It's an injury that is expected to sideline him at least four weeks.
Over 44 games and 182 plate appearances this season, O'Hearn has a .289 average and .368 OBP with his new team. Losing him is a blow to the Pirates' offense, and to his fantasy owners.
He has seven home runs and six doubles among his 46 total hits. O'Hearn has 29 RBIs, 27 runs scored, a stolen base, 19 walks and 34 strikeouts.
The first baseman and corner outfielder is at stacked fantasy positions, but delivering enough for ownership in most fantasy leagues. I'd do my best to keep stashing him through the injury, but the longevity of his absence will determine how many leagues he's kept/dropped in.
Keep tabs on his return, and stash him for his IL stint if you can, because O'Hearn has been stellar to this point of the season.
Jose Altuve - Houston Astros
Altuve is rostered in about 94% of leagues at the moment. He's trending down after sustaining a Grade 2 left oblique strain. Altuve is expected to miss at least one month.
He started the season red hot, but has regressed hard since. Altuve was being dropped prior to the injury, and now will be let go in more leagues as he misses a bunch of games.
Altuve has a .245 average and .326 OBP over 42 games and 185 plate appearances this season. He has four homers and 10 doubles among his 40 total knocks, plus 12 RBIs, 27 runs scored, a stolen base, 19 walks and 35 strikeouts.
The second baseman also should be eligible in left field from what he did in 2025. That bumps his fantasy value up, but he needs to produce at the plate to keep in all leagues. He wasn't doing that before the injury, so he was droppable, and he definitely is now that he's out several weeks.
Keep tabs on his recovery, but he could be dropped in standard leagues if you don't have enough IR spots to stash him in.
Eury Perez - Miami Marlins
Perez is rostered in 88% of fantasy leagues right now. He's not injured, but he's pitched poorly of late.
He allowed five runs over five innings in his last start. Perez has allowed three or more runs in three straight appearances, and only topped five innings once in the stretch.
In 10 starts overall, Perez is now 2-6 with a 5.33 earned run average. He has allowed 35 runs (31 earned) on 46 hits and 28 walks, while striking out 58 batters.
Perez has started the season pretty poorly, and is droppable now. He's a better standard league streaming option until he improves on the bump. Keep rostering him in all deeper leagues, and look into buying low on him in a trade if you believe in him improving as the season moves along. He's tough to trust right now.
