10-Team Fantasy Baseball Mock Draft: 10th Draft Slot, No Problem
Morgan drafts from the 10th slot in a 10-team mock draft and comes out enthused with his final roster.
During a down time for sports overall, let's conduct a fantasy baseball mock draft!
This time, I'm going to draft from the 10th position in a 10-team head-to-head points setup. There's one starter at catcher, first base, second base, shortstop and third base, plus three outfielder spots and a utility position. For pitching, there's two relief pitcher slots, and then the six other pitcher slots could be starters or relievers. There's five bench slots for this mock.
Here's a similar mock draft, but from the No. 1 position.

Rounds 1/2 - Cal Raleigh and Kyle Schwarber
The first round went about as expected, so I went with who I believed were the best players available, and it left me with two sluggers in Raleigh and Schwarber.
Raleigh will slot into the catcher slot, filling that spot for good. He's coming off an incredible 2025 campaign, and even if he regresses a bit, he still could live up to this draft slot. I still might grab another catcher, but I wouldn't need one after selecting Raleigh.
Schwarber is primarily a designated hitter, but he could have outfield eligibility too, which would make him even more valuable in fantasy leagues. He's another big-time slugger, so I've really started off big with two thumpers. If he's only a DH in your league, then that utility spot is used up, so keep that in mind.
Rounds 3/4 - Jackson Chourio and Chris Sale
I went with Chourio to end round three and then opened round four with Sale.
Chourio is a rising fantasy hitter, and a good option as a top fantasy outfielder. I think he's got a couple more levels to his game, and if he takes off in 2026, this will be a big-time draft steal.
After landing three really good fantasy hitters, taking a pitcher was a priority for me, and Sale is a great option. He's a fantasy stud, and he can be a top-10, or even top-5, fantasy pitcher if he stays healthy. Sale is a perfect guy to take to lead a fantasy rotation though.
Rounds 5/6 - Matt Olson and Dylan Cease
I went with another Brave in round five with Olson, then added another starting pitcher in Cease in round six.
Olson plays every day, making him a really good fantasy asset. His production has been up and down over the years, but coming off a good 2025 campaign, I'm willing to add him at this point of a fantasy draft. He could be another good draft value pick for me.
Cease is a bounceback candidate after a rough 2025 season. He's in Toronto now, and his fantasy outlook is higher. If Cease indeed bounces back, he has high-end fantasy potential, and gives me a great 1-2 punch alongside Sale.
Rounds 7/8 - James Wood and Jesus Luzardo
Wood is another option in the outfield for me, while Luzardo is my third starting pitcher option.
Wood is another rising player, so alongside Chourio, I have a great 1-2 punch that could break out and carry my fantasy team. I see Wood taking another step forward in 2026 and being another good draft value for me.
Luzardo is coming off a stellar season, and if he replicates that in 2026, he'll be another draft steal. As a third starting pitcher, I don't need him to excel, but if he does, I really like how my rotation is shaping up.
Rounds 9/10 - Bo Bichette and Corey Seager
I went with a couple infielders here in Bichette and Seager. Both are shortstops, but Bichette is going to be playing third base for the Mets, so my 3B and SS spots get filled with these picks.
Bichette is coming off a monster season, but missed some time due to injuries. If he stays fully healthy all season, he could be in for a career season hitting behind the likes of Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor. I love this draft value for Bichette, especially because he'll have multiple spots you can play him at.
Seager is a riskier pick as he's dealt with a multitude of injuries over the past few seasons. When healthy, he can be an elite hitter and fantasy asset, and that's obviously what I'm hoping for in 2026. I'll definitely need to add another shortstop or third baseman to make sure I'm covered in case Seager gets injured again.
Rounds 11/12 - Jacob Misiorowski and Nathan Eovaldi
After skipping pitchers at my last picks, I doubled up here with Misiorowski and Eovaldi.
Misiorowski had a good rookie season, but was inconsistent. I'm intrigued by what he can become, but there's definitely some risk taking him here. If he excels, I have another draft steal on my hands.
Eovaldi is a more sure thing, so he's a perfect choice after taking Misiorowski. Eovaldi was stellar last season before an injury derailed his season. He's healthy coming into the season, and if he regains his 2025 form, my starting rotation is likely going to carry me to fantasy greatness.
Rounds 13/14 - Teoscar Hernandez and Ozzie Albies
I went back to a couple more hitters here in Hernandez and Albies.
Hernandez is a good third fantasy outfielder, and really is quite underrated in my eyes. I think he's a great value pick near his current ADP. Anytime I can add a hitter in that great Dodgers' lineup, I'll jump at the opportunity.
Albies fills the second base spot, which was previously unoccupied. He's fallen off the past couple seasons, but is still in his prime, so I'm hoping he bounces back. I'll likely grab another 2B to protect myself though.
Rounds 15/16 - Trey Yesavage and Daniel Palencia
I switched back to pitchers here, getting a starter in Yesavage and reliever in Palencia.
Yesavage flashed some high-end fantasy upside in his brief time in the big leagues in 2025. I'm surprised he's going this late in fantasy drafts, because if he keeps excelling like he did in 2025, he's going to blow his ADP out of the water.
Palencia is the first reliever I decided to take - I normally ignore fantasy relievers. He is projected to be the Cubs' closer yet, and that's enough for me to give him a chance this late in a fantasy draft.
Rounds 17/18 - Dennis Santana and Jacob Wilson
I grabbed my second fantasy reliever in Santana, then got a Seager insurance policy in Wilson.
Santana is projected to close for Pittsburgh, which should be improved in 2026. Even if he can add a few saves and decent results, I'll be happy with this pick.
Wilson had a good rookie season before injuries slowed him a bit. I like his hitting ability, which makes him a nice fill-in should Seager go down with a long-term injury again.
Rounds 19/20 - Aaron Nola and Luis Arraez
Nola and Arraez were my next two fantasy picks for this mock draft.
Nola is another starting pitcher option, and helps fill out my rotation. He's a big bounceback candidate, and if that happens, I could use him as a trade chip for a position that's lacking.
Arraez is another good backup hitting option, as he can hit well and get on base consistently, while not striking out much. He's eligible at a couple spots and could be in for a good season in his first year with San Francisco.
Rounds 21/22 - Sal Frelick and Ryan Walker
I ended my draft by taking Frelick and Walker.
Frelick is another option in the outfield for me. I've already taken him twice, showing you what I think of the Brewers' outfielder and his draft value.
Walker is the projected closer in San Fran, and if that happens, I like this draft value for him. If he doesn't work out, it won't hurt to drop him, but I think he could bounce back and serve as a good fantasy reliever for me.
Final Thoughts
I'm really pleased with the final product of this mock draft.
I feel like I got a good balance of contact hitters and sluggers, then a good crop of starting and relief pitchers. I don't see a big weakness on the squad to kick off the season.
I have depth at most hitting spots, but could definitely be in a world of hurt if Raleigh regresses hard or gets hurt. I have enough talent elsewhere that I think I'd be able to absorb several injuries throughout the season though.
I was graded as an A- for this mock, but still feel super confident about this bunch. This just shows that regardless of where you are picking in a 10-team league, you can come out with a good squad in the end.
