National League Prospects Who made the MLB Futures Game Roster: Andrew Painter, J.J. Wetherholt and More
Taking a look at all the prospects who will play in this year's MLB Futures Game.
One of my favorite things every MLB season is the Futures Game, where some of the brightest prospects all appear in the same game.
The rosters were just announced for this year's game. Let's look at stats from each player involved and discuss them as fantasy baseball assets as well. We'll start with the National League teams, then cover American League players in a separate story.

Braves
JR Ritchie and Hayden Harris will represent the Braves in this year's game.
Ritchie is ranked sixth in the Atlanta organization, while Harris is 29th.
Ritchie is pitching in Double-A right now and has a 2027 ETA. He's also pitched at High-A this season, accumulating 75 1/3 innings so far. He has a 2.51 earned run average, a .175 average against him and 71 strikeouts as well.
Ritchie has been stellar this season, and might debut before 2027 if he keeps things rolling the rest of this season.
Harris is pitching in Triple-A right now and should debut at some point in 2025. The 26-year-old has a 0.61 ERA over 29 2/3 innings in stops at AA and AAA this season. He's got a .147 average against him, along with 44 strikeouts.
Harris has a career 3.50 ERA in the minor leagues, and with the Braves needing help, Harris is a fantasy asset to keep tabs on this year. Harris isn't a big dynasty asset given his age, but he could be a help this year and the years to come if given the chance.
Brewers
Jesus Made is the Brewers' prospect who will play in the Futures Game.
He's the No. 18 prospect in baseball as just an 18-year-old. At A-ball, Made has a .283 average and .390 on-base percentage across 64 games this season.
He has the potential to be the game's No. 1 prospect in due time and could move his 2028 ETA up with more good production along his minor league stops.
Cardinals
J.J. Wetherholt will represent the Cardinals in this year's game.
Wetherholt is the No. 16 prospect in baseball. He's playing in Double-A for now and is expected to debut in 2026. He's hitting .305 and getting on base at a .430 clip over 57 games this season.
Wetherholt is a possible late-season call-up option depending on what the Cardinals do at the trade deadline. He's a great dynasty asset to have, and hopefully we get to see him in the big leagues soon.
Cubs
Owen Caissie and Jaxon Wiggins are the Cubs' prospects who were named to the Futures Game.
Caissie is the No. 42 prospect in baseball and is Triple-A right now. He's hitting .263 and has a .372 OBP over 65 games this season. He also spent all of 2024 in Triple-A, so he's bound to be called up soon.
It might take a change of scenery to get the outfielder to the big leagues. Chicago could include him in a trade package this deadline, so he's a name to track, as a rebuilding team would be more likely to call him up.
Wiggins is the team's No. 8 prospect right now. He's at Double-A and has a 2026 ETA. The right-handed pitcher has a 2.09 ERA over 60 1/3 minor league innings this season - he started the season in High-A.
Wiggins is on the rise as a prospect, and could eventually become a top-100 prospect before he's called up.
Diamondbacks
Slade Caldwell and Gino Groover are the top Arizona prospects who will play in the Futures Game.
Caldwell is ranked 90th overall right now. He has a 2028 ETA and is playing in High-A. Caldwell has a .267 average and .437 OBP over 66 games across two levels. He could move up the prospect list, while trimming his ETA with more strong results at the plate.
Groover is playing at Double-A as a 23-year-old. He has a 2026 ETA and is the team's No. 10 prospect. Groover has a .301 average and .377 OBP over 67 games, and could improve his stock with more positive results going forward.
Dodgers
Josue De Paula (No. 28) and Zyhir Hope (No. 38) are top-100 prospects from the Dodgers who made the Futures Game roster.
De Paula is 20 years old and playing in High-A - he has a 2026 ETA. He's hitting .269 and getting on base at a .409 clip this season. De Paula is already highly regarded, and could reach the big leagues quicker if he gets traded at the deadline this season.
Hope is also at High-A as a 20-year-old - he has a 2027 ETA. He's hitting .297 and has a .401 OBP over 72 games. Hope could move that ETA up, especially if he's traded this deadline.
Giants
Carson Whisenhunt will represent the Giants this year.
He's the team's No. 2 prospect and is expected to make his MLB debut in 2025. Across 89 Triple-A innings this season, Whisenhunt has a 4.55 ERA, a .262 average against him and 79 punchouts.
He's trending down a bit over the past couple seasons, but has some time to turn things around as a 24-year-old yet.
Marlins
Miami's Thomas White and Joe Mack will play in the Futures Game.
White is ranked No. 29 overall right now. He's pitching in Double-A and has a 2026 ETA despite being only 20 years old. White has a 2.53 ERA across 42 2/3 innings in two minor league stops this season.
His career 2.83 ERA in the minor leagues catches your eye, and he could keep moving up the minor league ladder and be in the big leagues really soon.
Mack is ranked 94th and plays in Triple-A for now. He's 22 years old and has a .260 average and .343 OBP over 63 games at two minor league levels. Mack is expected to make his MLB debut this season.
Mets
Carson Benge (No. 81) and Jonah Tong (No. 92) are the Mets' prospects who made the roster.
Benge has a 2027 ETA and is playing at Double-A as a 22-year-old. He's hitting .299 and getting on base at a .418 clip over 65 games this year. He could move up his ETA with more positive results.
Tong is pitching at Double-A as a 22-year-old and has a 2026 ETA. He's got a stellar 1.73 ERA over 73 innings at AA this season. Tong could be called up before his ETA, especially if he's included in a trade this deadline.
Nationals
Travis Sykora and Marquis Grissom Jr. will represent the Nationals.
Sykora is the No. 54 prospect in baseball and pitches in Double-A for now. He's already pitched at four minor league levels this season, owning a 1.83 ERA over 44 1/3 innings. Sykora has a 2027 ETA, but I think he's in the big leagues before that, maybe even by the end of this season.
Grissom is the team's No. 21 prospect and pitches in Triple-A. The 23-year-old has a 2025 ETA. Grissom has a career 2.87 ERA in the minor leagues, but has a 4.70 mark so far in 30 2/3 innings this season. He could be called up by the end of this season, but likely won't be a big fantasy asset until 2026.
Padres
Leodalis De Vries is the lone Padre who will play in the Futures Game.
He's ranked third overall and has a 2027 ETA. De Vries is just 18 years old and plays in High-A for now. He has a .243 average and .357 OBP over 63 games so far, but is highly regarded for a reason, so he gets a chance to shine in a couple weeks.
Phillies
Andrew Painter and Eduardo Tait will represent the Phillies at the game.
Painter is ranked fifth overall right now. He's 22 years old, pitches in Triple-A, and is expected to debut this season. Painter has a 4.18 ERA over 51 2/3 innings, but he's highly regarded and owns a career 2.34 ERA over his minor league career.
Tait is ranked 69th overall. He's 18 years old and plays in Single-A. The catcher has a 2028 ETA and sports a .256 average and .328 OBP over 65 games this season. He's on the rise as a prospect and could move his ETA up if he figures things out at his minor league stops.
Pirates
Konnor Griffin and Esmerlyn Valdez are two Pittsburgh prospects on the NL roster.
Griffin is ranked 31st overall, plays at High-A as a 19-year-old and has a 2028 ETA for now. He's hitting .343 and getting on base at a .412 clip at two minor league stops this season. I think Griffin could move his ETA up, especially if the Pirates decide to push last year's No. 9 overall pick a bit.
Valdez isn't even a top-30 prospect for the Pirates, but his incredible numbers at High-A this season got him a roster invite. The 21-year-old is hitting .303 and getting on base at a .385 clip across 72 games - oh, and he's hit 20 homers already. He'll be ranked soon, not just in the Pirates' system, but maybe in the top-100 in time.
Reds
Sal Stewart and Alfredo Duno will play for the Reds at the Futures Game.
Stewart is ranked 62nd and plays at Double-A. THe 21-year-old has a 2026 ETA and is hitting .327 with a .390 OBP over 71 games so far. Stewart could be called up this season I think, but I'd think they'd want him to play some at Triple-A first - he's a name to keep tabs on.
Duno is the team's No. 7 prospect. He's playing in Single-A and the catcher has a 2028 ETA. Duno has a .269 average and .422 OBP over 64 games this season, and could move his ETA and prospect rank up with more solid results in the years to come.
Rockies
Charlie Condon is the lone Colorado prospect who made the roster.
Condon is ranked as the No. 22 overall prospect. He's 22 years old and playing in High-A, and he has a 2026 ETA. Condon has a .309 average and .418 OBP, but is still likely looking at an early 2026 call up, nothing this season.
