Looking at a few waiver wire pitchers to consider adding in fantasy baseball leagues.

After checking in on some fantasy baseball waiver wire hitting options, let's now look at some pitchers.

We won't include anyone from Monday's pitching waiver wire story, or Tuesday's streaming article.

Check out the top fantasy baseball waiver wire options everyday on FantasySP.

Should You Add Chris Paddack?

Paddack is owned in 25.19% of fantasy leagues after a 3.6% increase today. He will start on Wednesday against the Guardians, but is being added in advance.

Paddack's season-long numbers are not the best, but he's been pretty good of late. He hasn't allowed over three runs in a start since his second start of the season. Paddack has a 2.06 earned run average over his past seven starts and 39 1/3 innings. He has 29 strikeouts over that span, while allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on 25 hits and 11 walks.

His first two starts of the season were rough. Paddack was tagged for 13 runs (12 earned) on 13 hits and six walks, while striking out four over 7 1/3 innings.

Paddack had a career 4.38 ERA coming into this season, so the numbers from his first two starts weren't going to last all year. He's pitching better this season now than he has in his career, and that's including his poor start.

One of Paddack's starts this year was against Cleveland. He went five innings and allowed a run on four hits and a walk - the run he surrendered came on a homer. He struck out two batters and needed only 76 pitches for that outing.

Paddack has worked at least seven innings in two straight starts, so you shouldn't be worrying about him not being able to pitch deeper into games. The matchup is solid enough, and with how he's been pitching of late, Paddack is a better option than a lot of fantasy owners think.

That being said, I'd really only want to stream him in deeper redraft leagues. His strikeout work isn't the best, and there is the potential for a five-inning start. I do think he deserves to be rostered and started in more deeper leagues than his current marks show though.

Should You Add Will Vest?

Vest is one of the late-inning relief options for the MLB-leading Tigers. He is owned in 40.49% of leagues after a 2.87% increase today.

Vest has worked the ninth inning in six of his seven appearances this month. He has two saves, two wins and a blown save this month.

Overall across 20 games and 21 2/3 innings, Vest has a 3-0 record, five saves, two blown saves and a hold. He has struck out 25 batters, while allowing five runs (four earned) on 15 hits and seven walks.

He's allowed just one unearned run in his 8 2/3 innings this month, so he's trending up as a fantasy asset. It's a nice bonus that Detroit is winning a lot.

It's been hard to judge the Tigers' late-inning relievers this season, because the save opportunities have been spread between three guys. Vest has emerged as the lead guy now, and while he might not always be utilized in save chances, I think he's the fantasy reliever to own in Detroit.

He's worth a fantasy roster spot in deeper redraft leagues, and if Vest keeps a hold of the closer role, he might eventually work into some standard leagues. Vest has delivered enough this month to trust in a fair amount of leagues though.

Should You Add Jameson Taillon?

Taillon will start Tuesday against the Marlins. I'm surprised he's not a bigger waiver wire add, as he's only up 2.02% and rostered in 42.22% of leagues.

In nine games and 49 2/3 innings so far in 2025, Taillon is 2-3 with a 4.53 ERA. He's allowed 26 runs (25 earned) on 46 hits and nine walks, while striking out 42 batters.

Taillon has allowed over three runs in two of his starts so far. He's surrendered two or fewer runs in five outings, so there's been a mix of good, average and bad.

His most recent start was against the Marlins. He took the loss, but posted pretty solid numbers. Taillon struck out seven batters and covered six innings. He allowed three runs on just four hits, but three homers did him in.

He's been tagged for eight homers over his past three starts. Miami isn't an offense that should be all that feared, but after getting him three times last outing, fantasy owners have the right to be skeptical.

I still have pretty high hopes for Taillon today, and think he'll be dialed in after the Cubs lost to the Marlins on Monday. I think he's worth a deep-league start in just about every setup, and depending on who else is available in standard leagues, I wouldn't mind using Taillon in those leagues as well.

A home start against the Rockies his next time out is a chance for Taillon to excel in back-to-back starts. That's another reason why I'd add him in deeper leagues.

Should You Add Emilio Pagan?

Pagan has emerged as the Reds' closer this season. He's up to 71.1% owned and was added in 2.05% of leagues today.

He got hit around a bit earlier in the month, but has delivered three straight scoreless appearances. Pagan has at least one strikeout in all eight relief appearances he's made this month.

Pagan has worked 23 innings over 23 contests this season. He's 0-2, but has a 3.52 ERA. He's got 12 saves, two blown saves and a hold as well. Pagan has allowed 11 runs (nine earned) on 13 hits and six walks, while striking out 26 batters.

He allowed five of his runs over a four-appearance stretch in May. He allowed two runs in two April outings as well. Pagan has 17 scoreless appearances on the season.

Pagan's strikeout work is good, and he's pitching enough, even on an average team, to have some fantasy relevance. He should be rostered in all deeper redraft leagues at this point, and can get some standard league attention too. He's not a must-own reliever, but he's a guy to keep tabs on in case he keeps delivering big results.

Should You Add Logan Evans?

Evans is rostered in just 7% of leagues. He has not topped 15% at any point in leagues synced here at FantasySP.

He will be starting next on Wednesday against the White Sox. It's obvious why he's being mentioned as a waiver option, even a day before his start.

Evans has made four big league starts this season, which are the first ones of his career. He has a 2-1 record and 2.57 ERA across 21 innings. He's allowed 11 runs (just six earned) on 24 hits and eight walks, while striking out 14 batters.

His ERA is really good so far, but all the unearned runs allowed has me a bit skeptical. Maybe that's holding him back from being rostered in more leagues?

Anyways, the matchup against the White Sox is a super favorable one, and Evans is definitely going to get some streaming attention in that one. He has made starts against the Marlins, Rangers, Blue Jays and Padres so far. Oddly enough, his best start was his last one against San Diego, where he went six scoreless innings, allowing seven hits and a walk and striking out three.

After that showing, I'd be all for starting Evans against the lowly White Sox. He should be utilized in most deeper leagues too, and I doubt he gets near that looking at his current own percentage. In a pinch, Evans might not be a bad option in standard leagues.

If he sticks in the big leagues after this start, another favorable matchup against the Nationals maybe awaits. Take advantage of his matchup against the White Sox at the very least though.
