Taking a look at top-100 hitting prospects who are putting up big numbers this season.

It's time to check in on some top-100 MLB prospects.

We've been looking at prospects who are in Triple-A mostly, but are going to include prospects at any level in today's story.

Stats are pulled from the MLB's prospects page. We'll look at hitters in this story (with at least 25 at-bats), and pitchers in another article, so be sure to check back for that.

Batting Average Leaders

Chicago Cubs' Moises Ballesteros has the best batting average (.389) of top-100 prospects with at least 25 at-bats this season. He's got six doubles, a triple and two homers among his 28 total knocks in Triple-A.

The catcher and first baseman looks to be ready to get a call to the big leagues, but might need an injury for the call to be made, as Chicago has a good amount of first basemen and catches on the roster already.

St. Louis' J.J. Wetherholt has a .354 average at the Double-A level. He's got four doubles and a home run among his 16 total knocks.

Wetherholt has a 2026 ETA after being drafted seventh overall a season ago. The primary shortstop could be a callup later in the season depending on what the Cardinals do at the trade deadline.

Boston's Franklin Arias is carrying a .350 average in A-ball. He has three doubles among his 21 total hits so far.

The middle infielder was signed in 2023 and has an ETA of 2027. Arias has been great at each stop in the minor leagues, and could move that ETA up with continued success at the plate.

Seattle's Felnin Celesten has a .347 batting average so far in A-ball. He's got a double and home run among his 17 total knocks.

Celesten was also signed in 2023, but has a 2028 ETA. More strong showings at the plate could make the 19-year-old shortstop a fast riser, and in the big leagues a year or even two earlier than his current ETA.

Chicago White Sox' Braden Montgomery has a .345 average so far. He's posted four doubles and three home runs among his 19 total hits at Single-A.

Montgomery was the No. 12 overall pick in 2024, and despite being 22 years old already, he's got a 2027 ETA. A team like the White Sox could move a prospect up quickly given the big league team needs help, so he could contribute a lot sooner than he's currently projected.

Highest OBPs

Detroit's Max Clark leads minor leaguers with 25 or more at-bats with a .479 on-base percentage. He has 15 hits and 18 walks across 71 plate appearances at High-A.

Clark was drafted third overall in 2023 and has a 2027 ETA. He performed pretty well last season, and could rise another level or two before the end of 2025. He could make the big leagues a lot sooner if he keeps delivering at the plate.

New York Yankees' George Lombard Jr. has a .466 OBP across 58 plate appearances at High-A. The middle infielder has 13 hits and 12 walks so far.

He was drafted 26th overall in the 2023 MLB Draft, and has a 2027 ETA. It'd be tougher for a prospect of a good MLB team to reach the big leagues before his projected ETA, but more strong hitting or a change of scenery could get Lombard to the big leagues sooner.

Cincinnati's Edwin Arroyo has a .452 OBP across 31 plate appearances at Double-A. He has seven hits and five walks so far.

Arroyo is a 21-year-old shortstop who was drafted in the second round in 2021. He has a 2026 ETA and maybe could debut later this season if the Reds sell some MLB talent at the trade deadline.

Los Angeles Dodgers' Josue De Paula has a .435 OBP across 69 High-A plate appearances. He's collected 14 hits and also walked 16 times already.

De Paula is a 19-year-old outfielder who was signed in 2022. He's got a 2026 ETA despite being at a lower level of the minor leagues, showing he could be a quick riser. A change of scenery might be needed to get him playing in the big leagues with a prominent role sooner, so keep his name in mind at the trade deadline if the Dodgers use him to acquire an asset or two.

Home Run Leaders

Athletics' Nick Kurtz has the minor league lead in homers among top-100 prospects with seven. He is getting called up on Wednesday, and has been a big waiver wire addition since that news was made public.

Arizona's Jordan Lawlar has five homers, as does Boston's Marcelo Mayer.

Lawlar has big league experience already, and is just waiting for another opportunity. With a .325 average and .423 OBP at Triple-A as well, he's clearly passed the minor league test.

Mayer is at Triple-A as well. He has a .247 average and .284 OBP, so improvements in those areas would help in his cause to make the big leagues. All it might take for him to be called up is an injury to Trevor Story, or a need for another middle infielder.

Most Stolen Bases

Pittsburgh's Konnor Griffin leads all top-100 prospects with 10 stolen bases. He's gotten 12 hits and walked six times at A-ball.

The shortstop and outfielder was the No. 9 overall pick in last summer's draft and has a 2028 ETA. The 18-year-old has some minor league seasoning ahead of him, but if he can put it all together, he could also move his ETA up.

Lawlar is second in steals with eight. Philadelphia's Justin Crawford has also swiped eight bases.

Crawford has 24 hits and six walks across 89 plate appearances at Triple-A. The outfielder was a first-round pick in 2022 and has a 2026 ETA. I think there's a chance he could debut this season, especially if the Phillies lose an outfielder for an extended period.
