Morgan gives his week 9 fantasy football rankings for running backs.
We just put together our week 9 fantasy football rankings for quarterbacks, and will now move on to running backs. Things will be covered from a PPR perspective.
Check back later for rankings for tight ends and wide receivers.

Taylor has been a fantasy superstar so far, and that's why I'm taking him first again this week.
His matchup against the Steelers is below average, but I expect Taylor to excel again and deliver the top fantasy RB score.
McCaffrey had a great case for the No. 1 spot this week.
His super favorable matchup against the Giants is why I could have ranked him first. I just trust Taylor more than him, so even in the better matchup, CMC ranks a spot lower.
Robinson has a tougher test against the Patriots lined up, but again, I'm not going to bet against a stud back like Robinson.
He's one to trust in all matchups, and this one is no different.
4. Jahmyr Gibbs
Gibbs will be taking on the Vikings in week 9.
Minnesota is another below-average matchup, but fantasy owners need to trust the top-end guys to get the job done every week, and I expect good things out of Gibbs.
I really could have ranked Achane as high as No. 2, but I trust each of the other back's offenses more.
Achane has a stellar matchup against the Ravens on Thursday. Being a short week, sometimes the RB workload is thrown off, and that's why I feel safest taking Achane fifth.
6. James Cook
Cook has a difficult test against the Chiefs in week 9, but I expect him to find the end zone a time or two, so he gets my No. 6 spot.
Cook could finish a lot higher than this, but the matchup is holding me back from ranking him higher.
7. Josh Jacobs
Jacobs still really hasn't gotten going yet this season, despite being a pretty solid fantasy asset.
His matchup against the Panthers is pretty average, and I'm expecting a score or two from him, which leads to a high-end fantasy finish and ranking.
Williams gets another pretty average test against the Cardinals.
I see the Cowboys' offense bouncing back from last week's down outing, which will help Williams to a top-10 fantasy RB finish.
Henry is trending back up as a fantasy asset, and would get a boost if Lamar Jackson finally returns.
A favorable matchup against the Dolphins is another chance for Henry to deliver, and I believe he will.
10. Kyren Williams
Williams has been a steady fantasy asset most of the season, but is coming off his worst showing.
I think he gets rolling again in a pretty average matchup against the Saints - the game flow should favor Williams and a good amount of Rams' touchdowns.
11. D'Andre Swift
Swift will look to continue his recent fantasy surge with another good outing in week 9.
He has the Bengals, who are a very favorable fantasy test for a running back. That should help Swift deliver again.
12. Kimani Vidal
Vidal gets a surprising spot at No. 12 going into a great matchup against the Titans.
The Chargers' offense has been led by the passing game, but Vidal could be the star this week, especially if LA jumps out to an early big lead.
13. Chase Brown
Brown is starting to re-emerge as a pretty good weekly fantasy option.
I like him delivering in week 9 in an above-average matchup against the Bears.
14. Ashton Jeanty
Jeanty struggled in his last game, but had been average or better in the three games before that.
He has the Jaguars in week 9. It's a tougher matchup, but I still expect the rookie back to do enough on his touches to deliver an average fantasy score, at least.
15. Jaylen Warren
Warren has a pair of single-digit fantasy outings that have sandwiched a 20-point game over the past three weeks.
I like him more in the middle of those marks against the Colts, who are another below-average test for a back.
16. Travis Etienne
Etienne has struggled to get going over the past couple weeks, but I'm a bit higher on him this week.
An average matchup against the Raiders helps, and in a game that sets up pretty well for the Jaguars' offense, Etienne could put up some fantasy points finally.
17. J.K. Dobbins
Dobbins still delivered a good fantasy score last week despite RJ Harvey breaking out.
I still like Dobbins as the lead Denver back, and think he posts a solid fantasy total against the Texans. Houston is a bit tougher fantasy test, but nothing too crazy.
18. Kenneth Walker
This is a pretty high mark for Walker, especially after a couple down performances.
An average test against the Commanders is a chance for both Seattle backs to deliver, and I think Walker leads the way in this week's coin flip.
19. Tyrone Tracy
Tracy is likely to lead the Giants' backfield after Cam Skattebo was lost to injury. I'm not all-in on him though, and think Devin Singletary could cut into his workload and fantasy production.
A test against the Niners is just above average, so that's why Tracy gets a top-20 spot this week.
Stevenson struggled last week, but I think he could get rolling again in a pretty nice matchup against the Falcons.
It would help his fantasy outlook if the Patriots took control of this game early.
21. Bam Knight
Knight lands my No. 21 spot, and that might end up being far too low by the end of the week.
He has a stellar matchup against the Cowboys, and should be the lead Arizona back. Dallas also struggles to stop the pass, so it'll be interesting to see where Arizona tries to exploit the defense.
22. Alvin Kamara
Kamara disappointed again last week - his poor offense is to blame for some of his shortcomings, but the veteran has struggled most of the season.
The Rams are the toughest fantasy matchup a back can have, so this might end up being too high of a ranking for Kamara.
23. Zach Charbonnet
Charbonnet lands just a couple spots after Walker - Charbonnet might be touchdown dependent, but with three double-digit outings over the past four weeks, I'm good to try him in week 9.
Even if he doesn't find the end zone, Charbonnet could end up finishing ahead of the rest of the backs on my rankings.
Croskey-Merritt has underwhelmed in three straight weeks, but it's hard to rank a team's clear No. 1 back much lower.
His matchup against Seattle is below average, but he could get a boost with Jayden Daniels back, and I'd be fine to start him in a final RB spot, or a flex spot.
25. Rico Dowdle
I really am not a huge fan of the Panthers' backfield right now, and a brutal test against the Packers isn't helping matters this week.
I am taking Dowdle over Chuba Hubbard based on their stats the past couple weeks, but neither are super confident starting options.
26. David Montgomery
Montgomery is my second Detroit back to make my top 30.
He hasn't done a ton over the team's past two games, but I still like him in week 9 despite a bit tougher matchup. Montgomery gets enough work every week to justify this ranking.
27. Woody Marks
Marks looks like the top Houston back, but Nick Chubb is still going to factor in and steal touches and fantasy production here and there.
A bit tougher test against Denver has me down on Marks, and I think they stifle the two Houston backs this week.
28. Aaron Jones Sr.
Jones returned last week and immediately was the top fantasy back again.
Jordan Mason is still going to factor in, but right now, I'm taking Jones over Mason. A tough test against the Lions has me down on both backs for week 9 though.
29. Kareem Hunt
It looks like Isiah Pacheco could miss week 9, but I don't think that necessarily means Hunt leads the backfield. I think Brashard Smith leads the way, but Hunt finishes as the top fantasy back with a score.
The test against the Bills is favorable, so if he does get a majority of the work and also scores, he could be a much better fantasy back than I have him ranked for this week.
30. Tyjae Spears
I don't know what to make of the Titans' backfield, but for week 9, I like Spears over Tony Pollard.
The matchup against the Chargers is pretty average, but I expect the Titans to be playing from behind, which usually favors Spears. We'll see if he can separate himself from Pollard a bit.
