Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings for Week 4: Caleb Williams and Geno Smith Land in Top 10
Morgan gives his week 4 fantasy football rankings for quarterbacks.
Let's wrap up our week 4 fantasy football rankings by checking out quarterbacks.
We looked at running backs, wide receivers and tight ends on Wednesday.
Check out week 4 fantasy football projections for quarterbacks on FantasySP as well.
1. Josh Allen
I'm going with Allen as my top fantasy quarterback for week 4.
He has the Saints this week, which sets up as a pretty favorable matchup, giving even more reason to take him first.
2. Jalen Hurts
Hurts got going in week 3, and now has a pretty good matchup against the Bucs in week 4.
I see him throwing and running to a big fantasy score.
Jackson has been great in the early going, despite the Ravens being 1-2 so far.
He has a tougher matchup against the Chiefs, but I expect Jackson to shine and deliver a big-time fantasy score.
Herbert gets a top-five spot this week as he prepares for the Giants.
He's been stellar so far, and in another above-average matchup, I like Herbert to shine again.
5. Jordan Love
Love didn't play very well against a tough Browns' defense, but he's now got the most favorable fantasy QB matchup against the Cowboys.
I expect Love to go off in the team's dismantling of the Cowboys.
Mahomes slides to the No. 6 spot as he prepares for the Ravens.
It's actually a pretty favorable matchup on paper, so maybe Mahomes can deliver a vintage performance.
If Daniels plays, he has a tough matchup against the Falcons.
I'd be a bit down on him because of the injury concern, but passing on him any longer just doesn't seem smart.
Williams was stellar against the Cowboys last week, and now has an above-average clash against the Raiders coming.
Most will start Williams because of his last showing, and the matchup is good enough to give him a go.
9. Geno Smith
Smith was good in week 3, and gets another favorable test in week 4 against the Bears.
If this turns into a high-scoring affair, Smith and Williams could deliver elite fantasy numbers.
10. Brock Purdy
I think there's a decent chance Purdy plays in week 4.
He has a tougher test against the Jaguars, but I don't think you can pass on him any longer than this.
11. Justin Fields
Fields is another quarterback whose status is up in the air.
If he's cleared to play, he has a great matchup against the Dolphins. I rank him lower because of the injury concern.
12. Daniel Jones
Jones gets the No. 12 spot going into a pretty average matchup against the Rams.
Jones has been great through three weeks, and many fantasy owners are going to start him as a result. I'm not quite as high on him, but he's still in the conversation to start in standard leagues.
13. Baker Mayfield
Mayfield has a bit tougher matchup against the Eagles in week 4.
Mayfield has delivered time after time over the past couple seasons, so I'm not as worried about him in these tougher matchups.
14. Bo Nix
Nix still hasn't really gotten going in 2025, otherwise he'd rank higher than this.
He has the Bengals in week 4. Cincy is a pretty average matchup, so it's fair to have Nix near the middle of my rankings.
15. Carson Wentz
Wentz looked pretty good when last week's game was close, so I'm giving him a nice boost for week 4.
He has a great matchup against the Steelers, and with Jordan Addison now back, the Vikings' offense could hit a new gear.
16. Tua Tagovailoa
Tagovailoa has a pretty solid matchup against the Jets in week 4.
Tagovailoa has underwhelmed through three weeks, but I'm willing to give him one more chance in this matchup.
17. Jared Goff
The matchup against the Browns is pretty average for Goff, but there's just something about that Cleveland defense that scares me off quarterbacks through three weeks.
Detroit's offense might have its stiffest test yet, and I'm down on Goff as a result.
18. Drake Maye
Maye faces the Panthers in week 4. So far, Carolina is the toughest fantasy matchup for quarterbacks.
Maye has looked good through three weeks, but the matchup scares me off him quite a bit.
19. Kyler Murray
You won't usually see me this down on a dual-threat quarterback, but Murray just hasn't done enough this season to rank any higher.
He has the Seahawks on Thursday night. That's a pretty tough matchup, so in a lot of cases, I'm avoiding him in standard league setups.
20. Sam Darnold
Darnold is the other half of the Thursday night contest.
His test against the Cardinals is pretty average. I just haven't seen enough out of Darnold to rank him any higher.
21. Matthew Stafford
Stafford gets the No. 21 slot heading into a matchup against the Colts.
So far, Stafford has just been so-so, while the Indianapolis defense has been tougher on fantasy QBs. Add that all up and you have a below-average fantasy QB for week 4.
22. Bryce Young
I'm hesitant to put Young this high, but in an average test against the Patriots, there's a chance he performs fairly well.
We'll see if he can deliver a bit more this coming week.
23. Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers faces an old foe (Minnesota) in week 4.
He's been a bit underwhelming as a fantasy asset since a great week 1 showing. The Vikings will be a tougher test for him.
24. Jaxson Dart
Let's throw the first-time starter at No. 24. He gets the Chargers in his first start.
Dart is taking over for Russell Wilson, and is expected to start the rest of the season. He has some nice upside as a bit of a dual-threat guy.
It's a bit tougher matchup, so this feels like a fair spot to have him ranked.
25. Dak Prescott
Prescott takes a huge hit in the rankings this week going into a very tough matchup against the Packers.
He'll also be without CeeDee Lamb, so I'd shy away from Prescott if I could in week 4.
26. Trevor Lawrence
Lawrence hasn't impressed me much this season, so he falls toward the bottom of the weekly rankings.
He has a pretty tough matchup against the Niners that is scaring me off him some more.
27. C.J. Stroud
Stroud has a tough matchup against the Titans in week 4.
He hasn't looked very good this season, and in the tougher matchup, this ranking feels appropriate.
28. Michael Penix
Penix was awful last week, so he doesn't rank highly despite a pretty favorable matchup against the Commanders.
We'll see if he gets things turned around this week, or there's a QB controversy brewing if he plays poorly again.
29. Joe Flacco
Flacco is in a similar situation to Penix. He hasn't played well yet this season, but has a favorable clash coming against the Lions.
I just trust the Browns' offense less, so Flacco falls below Penix.
30. Cameron Ward
Wards gets the 30th spot going into a clash with the Texans.
That's a pretty tough matchup on paper, but he ranks higher than last week after showing a bit of promise in week 3.
31. Jake Browning
Browning wasn't good in week 3, and now has a tough matchup against the Broncos in week 4.
He could make this ranking look silly if he bounces back, but this is where I'd feel comfortable taking him.
32. Spencer Rattler
Rattler regressed in week 3, proving that week 2 was likely an outlier performance.
He has a pretty average matchup against the Bills, and I just don't trust Rattler to get the job done. Only start him in super deep leagues if you have to.
Final Notes
If Marcus Mariota starts again for Daniels, I'd rank him between Penix and Flacco because of that tougher matchup.
If Mac Jones starts for Purdy again, I'd put him between Young and Rodgers.
If Tyrod Taylor makes the start for Fields, I'd rank him before Young and after Stafford.
