Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire: Friday’s Best Adds & Streamers
A final look at this week’s top waiver wire adds, including streamers, hot bats and emerging bullpen options.
It's time for our final fantasy baseball waiver wire story of the work week.
Check out Friday's starting pitcher streaming article. Here's waiver stories from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Jake Bennett - Boston Red Sox
Bennett is rostered in 6.92% of fantasy baseball leagues after being added in 2.81% of leagues so far today.
Bennett is the No. 6 prospect for Boston. The 25-year-old lefty was a second-round pick in 2022.
He has a 2.43 earned run average over 159 1/3 innings in the minor leagues so far. Bennett had a 0.86 ERA over five Triple-A starts this year.
Bennett has pitched well this season, and will be facing the Astros tonight. That's an OK matchup, but definitely holds him back some. Bennett is streamable in deeper leagues, but I'd look elsewhere for a standard league streamer today.
Nathaniel Lowe - Cincinnati Reds
Lowe is up to 9% owned today. He was barely rostered as of April 24.
He had a double and homer on Thursday, and has nine hits over his past seven contests. Lowe has five homers, seven RBIs, eight runs scored, three walks and two strikeouts in that timeframe.
Lowe has a .288 average and .373 on-base percentage over 20 games and 59 plate appearances this season. He has five homers, four doubles, 15 total hits, 12 RBIss, eight runs scored, seven walks and eight strikeouts.
The first baseman is at a loaded fantasy spot, so that's keeping his own percentage lower. Lowe is a deep-league option, at least until his hot bat cools off some.
Jack Perkins - Athletics
Perkins is up 3.1% and he is rostered in 18.87% of leagues overall.
Perkins picked up his third save of the season on Thursday night. His other two have come since April 21.
He is 2-0 and has a 2.70 ERA over 13 1/3 innings pitched in his eight appearances so far - Perkins allowed all four runs in one outing. Perkins has allowed 11 hits and three walks, while striking out 17 batters.
Perkins is worth adding in some deeper leagues, especially if you need some saves. Take advantage of things while Perkins is excelling.
Adley Rutschman - Baltimore Orioles
Rutschman is owned in 88% of leagues. He was at about 80% on April 24.
He returned on April 21, and has 11 hits in the six games since. Rutschman has four homers, 14 RBIs and six runs scored over that span.
Rutschman has played in 16 games and gotten 64 plate appearances overall. He has a .356 average and .406 OBP. Rutschman has six doubles, four homers, 21 total hits, 17 RBIs, nine runs scored, five walks and eight strikeouts.
Rutschman should be rostered in more fantasy leagues than he is right now - I'd be thrilled to add him in any standard league, even if it was to utilize him as a utility hitter, or secondary catcher. He's excelling at the plate and deserves more fantasy love.
Grant Holmes - Atlanta Braves
Holmes sits around 38% rostered right now as he prepares to make another start.
Holmes will be making a start against the Rockies on Friday night. The matchup is stellar, but it's in Colorado, so his outlook is a bit lower than it otherwise would have been.
In six starts, Holmes is 2-1 with a 3.62 ERA over 32 1/3 innings. He has allowed 13 runs on 25 hits and 14 walks, while striking out 25 batters.
Holmes is worth trying in all deeper leagues because of the matchup, and I also wouldn't mind trying him in some standard leagues. He's not a must-add pitcher in standard leagues because he's more of a so-so fantasy asset.
Jeremiah Jackson - Baltimore Orioles
Jackson is rostered in 57% of leagues. He was at 55% yesterday.
He went hitless in the second game of a doubleheader on Thursday, but had two hits (a double and a grand slam), five RBIs and a run scored in the first game.
Jackson has a .270 average and .288 OBP over 29 games and 104 plate appearances this season. He has six homers, three doubles, 27 total hits, 24 RBIs, 10 runs scored, a stolen base, two walks and 24 strikeouts.
He's played second base in the absence of Jackson Holliday, but he can also play other positions, so I expect Jackson to stick in the starting lineup when Holliday is back. Until we reach that point, utilize Jackson in all deeper leagues, and some standard ones.
