Jasson Dominguez Headlines Monday's Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters
A look at the best waiver wire bats to add, stream, or monitor heading into the new week.
Let's wrap up our look into fantasy baseball waiver wire/streaming options by going over some hitters.
We went over waiver wire/streaming pitching options, plus discussed some more potential adds based on weekly projections.
Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Jasson Dominguez - New York Yankees
Dominguez is up 5.94% so far today, and sits at 23.3% overall.
Dominguez started the year in the minor leagues, but is getting called up on Monday. He is replacing Luis Gil, who has struggled in his first four starts this season.
Dominguez had been a highly-touted player coming up through the minor leagues, but hasn't put it all together in the big leagues. Over 149 total games between 2023-25, he has a .248 average and .327 on-base percentage.
He had a .326 average and .415 OBP over 24 contests in Triple-A so far this season, so we'll see if he can keep things rolling in the big leagues. Now the question becomes: where will Dominguez play?
The outfield is pretty set, so Dominguez might have a hard time cracking the lineup most days. Cody Bellinger is in left field, Trent Grisham is in center and Aaron Judge is in right. Giancarlo Stanton was injured a couple days ago, so if he hits the injured list, then Dominguez could factor in more.
I don't love the idea of adding Dominguez in too many leagues until we know his role. He might not play enough to even be a deep-league asset. I get adding him in some deeper leagues, but until he's in the lineup a couple days, I don't like adding him in too many more leagues.
Carlos Cortes - Athletics
Cortes is owned in 27.51% of leagues after a 7.57% increase today.
The 28-year-old outfielder had some good MLB marks over 42 games in 2025, and Cortes has been even better in 2026. In 22 games and across 67 plate appearances, Cortes has a .377 average and .433 OBP.
He has 23 total hits, including five doubles, a triple and four homers. Cortes has 13 RBIs, eight runs scored, six walks and only four strikeouts.
Cortes is starting against right-handed starting pitchers, so he's in the lineup plenty. He was helped out by the absence of Brent Rooker (who was activated on Sunday), and is taking advantage of regular playing time. Cortes is worth adding/utilizing in deeper leagues, but there's better options out there in standard leagues.
Ildemaro Vargas - Arizona Diamondbacks
Vargas is up another 3.94%, which brings his overall mark to 63.75%.
Vargas continues to deliver hits for the D-Backs. He's got a hit in all 20 games he's played this season. Vargas has a .367 average and .383 OBP over 82 plate appearances.
He has six doubles and homers among his hits, plus two triples, 20 RBIs, 18 runs scored, two walks and 10 strikeouts. Vargas is a 10-year big leaguer, and is easily enjoying his best success right now.
What I really like about Vargas is that he's eligible at several fantasy positions. The more spots he's available at, the higher his fantasy value is in your league.
He's delivering more than enough at the plate, so he's worth adding and utilizing in more fantasy leagues. Vargas is a must-own guy in deeper leagues now, while being a pretty good option in standard leagues too. Add and utilize him, but be watching his numbers in case he starts to fade at some point.
Angel Martinez - Cleveland Guardians
Martinez is back on the rise, and he sits at 46.6% overall now. He's up 4.66% today.
Martinez was hitting .342 and had a .419 OBP back on April 11, but then dipped to a .262 average and .314 OBP by April 19. He's back up to a .289 average and .330 OBP as of today.
Martinez has played in 26 games so far, getting 89 plate appearances. He has 24 total hits, including five home runs and five doubles. Martinez also has 15 RBIs, 12 runs scored, five stolen bases, three walks and 17 strikeouts.
He's only played the outfield this season, but could be eligible at second base from last year - check into that, as his fantasy value is higher if he's eligible at several spots. Martinez is hitting well again, and is worth ownership in most deeper leagues, and even some standard leagues.
Based on what we've seen so far this season, Martinez needs to be watched closely. He is probably a better deep-league asset in the grand scheme of things, but he can be streamed/utilized for stretches in standard leagues, so be adding/dropping him as he goes in/out of hot/cold stretches.
