Breaking down the latest fantasy baseball waiver wire hitters, including top prospect Travis Bazzana and several bats on hot streaks.

After looking at some fantasy baseball waiver wire pitchers already, let's go over some hitting options.

Here is the waiver wire article we did on Monday. We won't cover anyone from that story.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!

Travis Bazzana - Cleveland Guardians

Bazzana is on the rise as he's getting called up today. He is up 22.68%, which brings his overall mark to 33.97%.

Bazzana is the No. 16 prospect in baseball, so him being called up is a big deal. The No. 1 overall pick from the 2024 MLB Draft is 23 years old and is a left-handed hitter.

He has 60 grades in hitting and running, a 55 in power, 50 in fielding and 45 for his arm. Bazzana has a 55-grade overall.

Bazzana had been so-so in his first two years in the minor leagues, but he's been great in Triple-A this season. In 24 Triple-A games, he hit .287 and got on base at a .422 clip. He had 27 total hits, including 11 doubles, two triples and two home runs. Bazzana had 10 RBIs, 18 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 21 walks and 25 strikeouts.

Those numbers show Bazzana has passed the minor league tests and is ready for the big leagues. It was only a matter of time before he was going to get the call, and Cleveland decided that now was the time to unveil its top prospect.

He's a second baseman, but has also played all over the field in his baseball career. Daniel Schneemann has been the MLB team's second baseman, but there's several platoons that Bazzana could take over.

Bazzana is a prospect that should have been added right away after being called out, and that's happening right now. I think he's immediately worth adding in all deeper leagues, and it might only take a couple days for him to get into standard leagues if he's delivering at the plate.

Keep close tabs on Bazzana, and be ready to add him to your team, if you aren't ready to add him today. He could be a high-end fantasy player in short order, so don't overlook him.

Moises Ballesteros - Chicago Cubs

Ballesteros is up 3.85% today, and sits at 32.38% overall.

He is on a five-game hitting streak, collecting seven hits over that time. Ballesteros has hit homers in back-to-back games, and he had extra-base hits in the three games before that, even though he didn't start two of them.

Ballesteros has played in 25 games, but gotten just 69 plate appearances. He's hit .387 and got on base at a .435 clip. Ballesteros has 24 hits on the season, including five doubles and five home runs. He also has 16 RBIs, 12 runs scored, six walks and 12 strikeouts.

Him not playing every day is an issue, and caps his fantasy outlook a bit. Ballesteros is hitting enough to still pick up in a lot of leagues.

I like adding Ballesteros in deeper leagues, and in time, he could maybe work into standard leagues. He'd need to start daily, and not sit so often, but he's worth watching in case the Cubs increase his role going forward. For now, he's a better deep-league asset.

Josh Jung - Texas Rangers

Jung has been added in 4.89% of leagues, and he's owned in 64.78% overall.

He has been on the rise for a few weeks. Jung is on a seven-game hitting streak, collecting nine hits over that span. He has six extra-base hits in that span, and has been stuffing the stat sheet otherwise.

In 26 games and 104 plate appearances, Jung has a .312 average and .375 OBP. He has 11 doubles and four homers among his 29 total knocks. Jung has 14 RBIs, 12 runs scored, a stolen base, nine walks and 17 strikeouts.

The third baseman is on the rise as a fantasy asset, and is worth adding in more leagues. He needs to be owned in all deeper leagues, and is sneaking into standard leagues right now. Treat him more as a short-term option in standard leagues, so be watching him in case his bat cools off soon.

Nathan Church - St. Louis Cardinals

Church is up 9.53%, which brings his overall mark to 23.68%.

He had a five-game hitting streak snapped on Monday. Church had eight hits over that span, plus seven RBIs and four runs scored.

For the season, Church has a .254 average and .295 OBP over 25 games and 78 plate appearances. He has five homers and a double among his 18 total hits, plus 13 RBIs, 12 runs scored, three stolen bases, four walks and 19 strikeouts.

He's starting daily and is a sneaky-good fantasy asset. I like adding him in deeper leagues, but he's just a short-term option in those leagues. Utilize him while he's hot at the plate, because it won't last forever.
