Another day, another look at the top prospects at a baseball position. We will go over catchers here.

Yesterday, we covered right-handed pitchers and left-handed hurlers.

Top-10 Catchers

Baltimore's Samuel Basallo is the top-ranked catcher in the newest top-100 list. Kansas City's Carter Jensen and St. Louis' Rainiel Rodriguez are ranked second and third, while Cincinnati's Alfredo Duno and Detroit's Josue Briceno are fourth and fifth.

Chicago Cubs' Moises Ballesteros, Miami's Joe Mack, Minnesota's Eduardo Tait, Washington's Harry Ford and Kansas City's Blake Mitchell round out the top-10 catchers.

Basallo is 21 years old and could also play first base. He was signed by Baltimore back in 2021 and made his big league debut in 2025.

Basallo struggled to a .165 average and .229 on-base percentage over 31 games. He had a much better .283 average and .366 OBP in 401 minor league games, so we'll see if he can flash that upside in the big leagues, which would make him a good fantasy asset for sure.

Jensen is 22 years old and was drafted in the third round of the 2021 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut in 2025 as well.

Jensen had a .300 average and .391 OBP over 20 games. That gives him some fantasy value heading into the season, especially if he's regularly starting. Keep him in mind for your upcoming drafts.

Rodriguez is just 19 years old and has a 2028 ETA. He signed with St. Louis in 2024.

Rodriguez has a .298 average and .420 OBP over 125 minor league games so far. He could end up being a quick riser, but we are still a year-plus away from seeing him probably. Rodriguez is just a dynasty asset at this point as a result.

Duno is 20 years old and has a 2028 ETA. He signed with the Reds in 2023.

In three minor league years, Duno has a .287 average and .425 OBP over 190 games. He has a long way to go before reaching the big leagues, but he's off to a great start, and could keep rising quickly if he keeps delivering.

Briceno is another catcher who can also play first base. He's 21 years old, signed with Detroit in 2022 and has a 2027 ETA.

In four years, Briceno has a .276 average and .374 OBP over 239 minor league games. He made it to Double-A last year, and has a chance to get called up late in 2026 if he takes a step forward this coming year.

Ballesteros is 22 years old and was signed by the Cubs back in 2021. He made his MLB debut last season.

In 20 big league games, Ballesteros had a .298 average and .394 OBP. He had a .289 average and .371 OBP in the minor leagues, so if that translates to the big leagues, he has fantasy stud written all over him. We'll see where he's drafted, but he's probably the best fantasy catcher we've discussed in this article so far.

Mack is 23 years old, was the No. 31 pick in 2021 and should debut this coming year.

Across five minor league years, Mack has a .239 average and .332 OBP over 420 games. He has nothing left to prove in the minor leagues, so it's just a matter of time before he's called up. When that happens, we'll see if Mack can hit enough to be a fantasy asset.

Tait is just 19 years old and was signed by Philly in 2023. He's got a 2028 ETA.

In three years, he's played in 235 games, posting a .283 average and .341 OBP along the way. He has plenty of minor league seasoning left, but if he keeps delivering at the plate, maybe he could reach the big leagues a bit sooner.

Ford is 22 years old and was the 12th overall pick in 2021. He made his MLB debut in 2025.

Ford had just a .167 average and .250 OBP over eight MLB games. In 454 minor league games, Ford has a .266 average and .405 OBP. We'll see if he can take a step forward in the big leagues this season, but until his spot is secured, it'll be hard to have a ton of fantasy value.

Mitchell is another first-round pick - he was the eighth overall pick in 2023. He's 21 years old and has a 2027 ETA.

Mitchell has just a .223 average but a .379 OBP over 184 minor league games. We'll see if he can raise that average and maybe move up his ETA as a result. He's just a dynasty asset probably for the coming season though.

Other Top-100 Ranked Catchers

Just two other catchers are part of the newest top-100 list.

After Mitchell at No. 75, St. Louis' Leonardo Bernal (No. 98) and Cleveland's Cooper Ingle (No. 99) are the only other top-100 prospects.

Bernal is 21 years old and was signed by St. Louis back in 2021. He has a 2027 ETA.

Bernal has five years of minor league experience already, playing in 384 games - he's made it up to Double-A. He has a career .251 average and .338 OBP so far. He's got competition within the organization, but if he keeps delivering, he could force his way to the big leagues even later this season.

Ingle is 23 years old and has a 2026 ETA. He was a fourth-round pick of the team in 2023.

In three minor league years, Ingle has played in 230 games. He has a .281 average and .407 OBP. If Ingle can keep doing that, he'll force his way into the big league lineup. He's a player to keep an eye on in spring training to see if he makes the team.
