Friday is here! Let's go over our fifth set of fantasy baseball waiver wire stories.

We'll cover hitters first, then pitchers in another article. We won't cover any hitters who appeared in stories on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Also be sure to check out the Friday streaming article.

Check out the top fantasy baseball waiver wire options everyday on FantasySP.

Should You Add Kyle Teel?

Teel is up 2.61% today so far and sits at 7.22% overall.

He's reportedly being called up to the big leagues today, so you can expect his own percentage to keep rising. Usually I cover called-up prospects in individual stories, but the timing of this callup works to put Teel with the rest of the waiver pickups.

Teel is the No. 26 prospect in baseball. He's 23 years old, bats left-handed and throws right-handed, stands 6-feet tall and weighs 210 pounds. The primary catcher was drafted in the first round of the 2023 MLB Draft.

He's graded as a 55-overall player. Teel has 55 marks in hitting and for his arm. He's got 50 marks for his power and fielding, while having a 45 mark for his running, which isn't surprising seeing his position.

Across parts of three minor league seasons, Teel has a .300 average and .401 on-base percentage in 188 minor league games. He hit .295 and got on at a .394 clip across 50 Triple-A games this season.

Teel has logged 210 career hits in the minor leagues, including 23 homers, 39 doubles and a triple. He has 22 stolen bases, 130 RBIs, 137 runs scored, 119 walks and 192 strikeouts.

He's only played catcher in the minor leagues, along with serving as a designated hitter. Teel talked earlier this week about playing first base, so maybe he'll also get some starts there in the big leagues - the White Sox can afford to experiment looking at their poor record.

His minor league hitting stats are great though, and that's something that usually translates to the big leagues. It might not immediately all come together for Teel, but he's definitely a fantasy hitter to keep your eyes on.

Deep-league redraft owners should be interested in adding Teel to their teams, especially if they are looking for some catching depth. He could be stashed until he gets going at the plate, although he's done enough in the minor leagues to immediately add and start in some deeper setups.

Depending on how Teel fares early in his MLB career, his own percentage will either rise slowly or quickly. A week or so of strong hitting could get him owned in all deeper leagues, and considered in standard leagues.

Like I said before, everyone needs to keep an eye on Teel.

Should You Add Xavier Edwards?

Edwards just returned from a stint on the injured list. He's now rostered in 55% of leagues.

He has seven hits over three starts this month. Edwards has a double among those hits, along with an RBI, two runs scored and a walk and strikeout.

Across 46 games and 209 plate appearances this season, Edwards has a .283 average and .353 OBP. Those are solid marks, but well below his .328 average and .397 OBP he posted over 70 games and 303 plate appearances last season.

Edwards has 52 total hits on the season, including four doubles and a triple - he still hasn't homered, and only hit one last year. He has 12 RBIs, 11 stolen bases, 20 runs scored and walks and 35 strikeouts.

Edwards lacks power, but he makes up for it with some stolen bases. He's also hurt by the team he's on, as there's not many RBI chances.

He played shortstop early this season, but has been playing second base since he returned from the IL. That could add some fantasy value to his name in time. He's hit leadoff in his first three starts off the IL - he sat on Wednesday.

He might be starting to heat up at the plate, and if that's the case, Edwards will start working his way back into standard leagues again. Right now though, I think he's a better deep-league option. If he keeps hitting and getting on base, then we can consider him in standard leagues, even despite his lack of power.

Should You Add Chase Meidroth?

Meidroth just continues to rake for the White Sox. He's owned in 36% of leagues right now.

In five June games and 22 plate appearances, Meidroth has 10 hits, including a double. He also has three RBIs, a run scored, five walks and no strikeouts.

He's played in 40 games this season, getting 162 plate appearances. Meidroth has a .312 average and .401 OBP. Among his 44 total hits, he's got six extra-base hits (five doubles and a homer). Meidroth also has eight RBIs and stolen bases, 18 runs scored, 21 walks and 17 strikeouts.

He should have played enough games at second base and shortstop this season to be eligible at both spots (he's starting to sound a lot like Edwards). Meidroth has hit second in the lineup for three straight starts, which gives him a touch more fantasy value than if he was batting leadoff.

Meidroth continues to hit, and despite a lack of power, he's still putting up big fantasy totals. I'm really surprised he isn't owned in more deeper redraft leagues - he should be around 55%, like Edwards, especially because Meidroth has been better at the plate this season.

Don't overlook these contact hitters just because they don't possess a ton of power. Meidroth is a really good fantasy asset right now, and probably is outscoring a lot of fantasy middle infielders who are rostered in deeper leagues over him.

Should You Add Tyler Freeman?

Freeman is rostered in just 2% of fantasy leagues right now.

He's on a five-game hitting streak, collecting eight hits over his past 16 plate appearances. Freeman has a homer and double among those hits. He also has three RBIs and runs scored, a stolen base and no walks or strikeouts over that span.

He's played in 22 games and gotten 60 plate appearances for the Rockies this season. Freeman has a .283 average and .333 OBP, along with six RBIs, four stolen bases, nine runs scored, three walks and seven strikeouts. He has three doubles and a homer among his 15 total knocks.

Freeman has played second and third base and right field this season, and has appeared at first base, shortstop and left and center field in the past, so the team could always find a way to get him into the lineup if his bat is hot, like it is now.

Freeman has started four straight games, hitting eighth or ninth in each contest. That's not a good fantasy spot to be in, especially considering he's at the bottom of a weak Rockies' lineup.

Freeman has scored some fantasy points of late though. I don't expect that to continue all season, but he should get a good opportunity for the terrible Rockies' team.

He's worth adding in some really deep redraft leagues, at least until his bat cools off a bit. Freeman can maybe start at a few positions, and be a streaming option for several days at least.

I don't think he'd ever become a big-time fantasy asset, but he's at least tracking in deeper leagues for the time being. He might become an option to those of you in deeper leagues at least.
