Wednesday's Fantasy Baseball Pitching Streamers: Is Brady Singer Worth a Permanent Roster Spot?
Five starting pitchers in action on Wednesday who are widely available in fantasy leagues and have good matchups.
The end of the week starts to mean more before a long weekend. Many people will have Monday off for Memorial Day, so the end of the week is like a sprint to the finish line to get your ultimate prize: that extra day off. I prefer Friday off rather than Monday because it's something to look forward to all week, but any extra day off is cause for celebration.
Shifting to the world of fantasy baseball, let's look at five starting pitchers in action on Wednesday who are widely available in fantasy leagues and have good matchups. Most stats are from MLB.com, as are the probable starters. The full streamer rankings are listed at the bottom.

Logan Evans, Seattle Mariners @ Chicago White Sox
Evans is the lucky pitcher who gets to face the White Sox today. Seattle has a heralded set of pitchers, but injuries necessitated Evans's quick call to the big leagues, where his first 21 innings have been uneven: 25 hits and 11 runs allowed, eight walks, and 14 strikeouts. Evans didn't strike guys out in the minors, so we're unlikely to see a big improvement there, capping his ceiling.
Chicago is fighting for the worst offense in baseball and the worst team in the league. Colorado probably holds one or both of those titles, but there's a long time left for the White Sox to stake their claim on ineptitude.
Evans is a low- to mid-level streamer. He gets a slight bump because of how juicy the matchup is, but I don't trust him right now to put together high-level outings. He's more of a deep-league option.
Chad Patrick, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Baltimore Orioles
Patrick is just 48.1 innings into his career, all coming this year in nine starts and one relief appearance. He has been a little better than average with walks but worse than average with strikeouts. He was better with Ks in the minor leagues, so there's hope he can improve there, and he has only allowed 18 runs.
Baltimore is in the bottom 10 in most offensive categories. They rank 10th in home runs, but Oriole hitters have also struck out the seventh most, setting a high ceiling for opposing pitchers. Baltimore looks like a long-term target team, not just a group experiencing a slow start.
Patrick is a low- to mid-level streamer. It's a nice matchup, but Patrick hasn't done enough yet to show that he's a reliable fantasy player.
JP Sears, Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels
The Angels are like Baltimore in that they are inept in most areas offensively, but they hit home runs. LA ranks third in homers, but they don't get enough guys on base to make those big hits worth enough, pushing down their run and win totals.
Sears has been really good with run prevention, allowing just 18 runs and 44 hits in 49 innings. His strikeouts are below average (as they have been through his career), but he is also very good at limiting walks, helping make up a bit for the lack of Ks. Sears has been a good pitcher in 2025.
Sears is a mid-level streamer. The matchup is right for a nice day, but Sears is a little down with strikeouts, though his control helps.
Brady Singer, Cincinnati Reds @ Pittsburgh Pirates
Singer is owned in close to half of leagues, one of two guys on our list today who are owned in at least 50%. He is a must-start player on Wednesday because this matchup is so sweet: Pittsburgh is essentially the White Sox of the National League, among the worst in all offensive categories.
Singer is a little better than average with both walks and strikeouts. That's a good start, but it hasn't helped him be more than an average pitcher mostly, finding a few extended stretches of success. I trust Singer, but I don't expect huge things from him.
Singer is a mid- to high-level streamer. The matchup is pristine, and his work has been good, but he doesn't quite make it to that top level.
Ryan Yarbrough, New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers
Texas is another group that is bottom-10 with everything except for homers. Unlike the Orioles and Angels, who are top-10 HR teams, the Rangers top out as middling with power, lowering their ceiling even more. Texas is a daily target for fantasy pitchers.
Yarbrough has mostly been a reliever in 10 appearances, starting just two games. He has been decent, allowing 10 runs in 24.1 innings with both a walk and strikeout rate a hair worse than average. That's fine, though most of his work being out of the bullpen makes him a little shakier as a starter.
Yarbrough is a low- to mid-level streamer. This is another case of the matchup being right but the pitcher being just “meh,” leaving you with a better way to spend your fantasy innings, especially this early in the year.
