Add Andrew Abbott Off the Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Before it's too Late
Looking at a few waiver wire pitchers to consider adding in fantasy baseball leagues.
It's time for another round of fantasy baseball waiver wire stories!
We'll start with pitchers today because there's some earlier games with potential streamers, but will not cover anyone who appeared in stories on Monday or Tuesday, or Wednesday's streaming article. Check back later for a hitter article.

Should You Add Patrick Corbin?
Corbin was added in 6.02% of fantasy leagues today, bringing his total mark to 12.4%. He will make a home start against the Rockies on Wednesday.
Corbin has been surprisingly good in his first season with the Rangers. Across six starts, he's 2-2, but with a 3.13 earned run average. He's allowed 11 runs on 32 hits and 12 walks, while striking out 20 batters over 31 2/3 innings.
He has a career 4.49 ERA, but has been above 5.00 in four straight years. Corbin's strikeouts are way down this season, so there's room for improvement there. His walks are also up, so more improvement could happen in that stat.
His WHIP is 1.39, which is also above his career 1.37 mark. While Corbin is likely to regress with his ERA, there's enough other areas he can improve in to still be a viable fantasy arm this season.
The start against the Rockies on Wednesday is a very favorable one. With it not being in Colorado, it's an even more appealing matchup for fantasy owners to take advantage of.
His next start is likely against the Yankees, which is much, much tougher. So Corbin is more of a one-and-done fantasy streamer today. I'd have no issues streaming him in a lot of deeper leagues, but think there's better options available in standard setups.
Should You Add Andrew Abbott?
Abbott started on Tuesday, so he's on the rise after a good start. He worked six innings against the White Sox, allowing a run on four hits and no walks. Abbott struck out seven batters.
Abbott is also up 6.02% today and is now sitting at 72.35% overall.
Across six starts so far, Abbott is 2-0 with a 2.10 ERA. He's allowed eight runs (seven earned) on 20 hits and 12 walks over 30 innings. Abbott has struck out 38 batters.
Those are fantastic numbers, and it's not crazy to expect Abbott to remain a good fantasy option. Across 46 starts the past two years, he's got an 18-16 record, but a 3.78 ERA. He has 234 strikeouts over 247 1/3 innings, and his WHIP is a 1.31.
He's improved his WHIP to 1.07 this season, so a little regression could be coming there. This is also his age-25/26 season, so it's possible he's just improving as an MLB pitcher.
I like the idea of adding and holding Abbott in all formats until further notice. He's got a pretty decent start against the Guardians next, before a test against the Cubs. If he puts up good numbers in those two starts, Abbott might be rostered in all fantasy leagues afterward.
Keep a close eye on him if you don't want to add him yet. I think Abbott is worth the gamble though, and I'd make that move now.
Should You Add Logan Henderson?
Henderson is getting called up to start against the Guardians on Wednesday. He's owned in 15.76% of leagues after a 4.28% increase today.
He made his MLB debut back on April 20 against the Athletics. All Henderson did was work six strong innings, allowing just one run on three hits and a walk. Henderson gave up a solo homer for the only run against him, and struck out nine batters along the way.
He's not a top-end prospect, but he's pretty highly regarded. Henderson has been great at Triple-A this season too.
In six appearances (five starts) there, he's 5-1 with a 2.40 ERA. He's allowed eight runs on 18 hits and 11 walks, while punching out 40 over 30 innings.
Cleveland is a decent matchup for a fantasy starting pitcher, and after what Henderson did in his debut, I'd have no issues streaming Henderson in deeper leagues today. He's got some strikeout upside, and if he can even work five innings, he should be able to deliver a good fantasy total.
It's unknown if he'll stick in the rotation after this start or not, so like the last time he pitched, you'll need to keep an eye on his roster status.
Should You Add Jameson Taillon?
Taillon has a favorable matchup against the Marlins on Wednesday evening. He's currently owned in 44.7% of leagues after a 3.88% boost today.
Across eight starts this season, Taillon is 2-2 with a 4.53 ERA. He's allowed 23 runs (22 earned) on 42 hits and nine walks. Taillon has 35 strikeouts over 43 2/3 innings. He's been bitten by the home run ball, surrendering 10 already.
He's coming off a rough outing, but that was against a tough Mets' offense. Taillon has mostly shut down the weaker-hitting teams he's faced so far, so there's hope he can do that again in maybe his best matchup of the season so far.
Five or six innings with only a couple runs allowed would be a successful day for Taillon, and there's a chance he shines in this favorable matchup. He's got a little strikeout upside, but really just needs to limit baserunners, and he's done that for the most part, with a season WHIP of 1.17.
I'd again be willing to stream Taillon in deeper leagues today. I'd consider him in standard leagues too, although I think the upside of Henderson is higher, and I'd prefer to add Abbott for the long run instead of streaming Taillon.
Assess your team situation and react accordingly. The matchup is good enough to test Taillon in most leagues though.
Should You Add Gavin Williams?
Opposing Henderson today will be Williams. He's owned in 42.89% of leagues after a 2.07% increase today.
He gets to face a Brewers' lineup that has struggled in May. The team hasn't scored in the first two games of the current series. Many of the Brewers in today's lineup have struggled in their few showings against Williams.
Williams has been solid this season, with a 4.38 ERA across eight starts and 37 innings. He's 3-2 and has struck out 45 batters along the way. Williams has surrendered 20 runs (18 earned) on 41 hits and 23 walks.
His 1.73 WHIP suggests his ERA should be much higher, but the big strikeout total has helped him limit some of the damage. Against a reeling Brewers' offense, there's a chance Wiliams could shine today.
Williams is coming off a five-inning shutout effort against the Phillies, who are a much better offense than the Brewers right now. Williams allowed four hits and walks, but punched out eight.
Williams might surrender some baserunners today, but if he can eat five or six innings and rack up several strikeouts, he could post a pretty big fantasy total by the end of his outing.
I'd be tempted to roll Williams out there as a streamer in deeper leagues. I'd be more skeptical of starting him in standard leagues, but the way the Brewers are hitting right now, I also wouldn't be totally opposed to streaming Williams in standard leagues.
His next start could be against the Twins, so this could be a two-for-one chance at a streamer in deeper leagues.
