Monday Night Fantasy Football Start Decisions: Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Dalton Kincaid and More
Looking at some trending fantasy football start decisions from FantasySP's start/sit tool.
I usually do rankings for the fantasy football players participating in Monday games, but I wanted to switch things up a bit this week.
Instead of discussing everyone, I'm going to break down trending start/sit decisions from the FantasySP Who Should I Start Tool. Let's get right to it, breaking things down by position.
Also check out my weekly rankings at quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end for my thoughts on some other start decisions for the night.
Use the FantasySP start/sit tool for help with any last-minute lineup decisions.
Tight End Decisions
We will go over Zach Ertz, Dalton Kincaid and Kyle Pitts Sr. from tonight's two games.
Ertz has an average-or-so matchup against the Bears tonight. Kincaid and Pitts have the two toughest TE matchups.
I had Kincaid as my No. 12 TE for the week, but with him questionable with an oblique injury, things are a bit trickier. Pitts was 14th for me, while Ertz was 19th.
Fantasy owners like Kincaid over Ertz, but Pitts over Kincaid. If you have Pitts and Ertz, it's nearly 2-to-1 in favor of Pitts.
I'm sticking with Kincaid as my top fantasy option of the three, but if he doesn't play, then would prefer Pitts over Ertz. All three could deliver decent results tonight, but none are close to being must-start guys.
Wide Receiver Decisions
Deebo Samuel Sr., D.J. Moore, Rome Odunze, Khalil Shakir, Luke McCaffrey and Drake London are receivers in trending decisions.
McCaffrey kind of sticks out like a sore thumb here. He made a trending decision against Moore, but fantasy owners are taking Moore 61% to just 7% for McCaffrey. McCaffrey is at the bottom of my wideout rankings among the group of wideouts I mentioned in the previous paragraph, even with Terry McLaurin out.
Samuel is questionable tonight, so if he misses the game too, then McCaffrey would get a big boost, but still be a risky starting option in standard leagues. Ertz would probably be the biggest benefactor among the Washington pass catchers.
Anyways, I'm super high on Odunze, and had him as my No. 4 fantasy wideout for week 6. Samuel was 11th and London 15th, while no others from these games were mentioned in my top 30.
I'd still take those three guys in that order. Fantasy owners with Odunze and London are starting both guys 77% of the time, and that's the route I'd go. Owners like Odunze over Samuel, but a nearly 62% clip are starting both, which I agree with again.
The Bears' wideouts have the best matchup of any unit playing tonight - it's just above average. The Commanders' wide receivers also have an above-average matchup. The Falcons' wideouts have a pretty tough matchup, while the Bills' wide receivers have the toughest challenge of the night.
After Odunze, Samuel and London, I'd take Shakir, Moore and McCaffrey. If Samuel is out, McCaffrey still wouldn't move above anyone else.
Fantasy owners like Shakir over Moore as well. Samuel is the easy favorite over Moore, although many are starting both guys yet.
Running Back Decisions
Jacory Croskey-Merritt and James Cook are the only running backs among the overall trending decisions.
I had Cook as my No. 11 fantasy back for week 6, while Croskey-Merritt ranked 21st.
Croskey-Merritt has the much better matchup, as Cook has one of the toughest tests possible.
Croskey-Merritt has just one good game under his belt, so I'm not ready to take him over Cook. Fantasy owners agree, but are still starting them together most often. That's not a bad option, depending on who else you had to choose from this week.
I could see JCM outscoring Cook tonight because of the matchup, but I'm not ready to take the rookie over Cook.
Flex Decisions
There's several players from tonight's games in flex-level trending decisions.
Croskey-Merritt goes up against Samuel in one decision. Croskey-Merritt faces Odunze in another, and London in a third. Samuel and Cook go up against each other in another trending decision.
I personally like Samuel over Croskey-Merritt. Again, it's about trusting a veteran over a rookie with just one week of success. Fantasy owners agree, starting Samuel most often, but over 65% are starting both guys.
I'd also take Odunze over Croskey-Merritt, and that one isn't close in my eyes. Fantasy owners aren't in full agreement, but are trying to start both guys again if they can.
I also like London over Croskey-Merritt if I have to choose between the two. Fantasy owners agree, but are again starting both guys if they can, at a whopping 82% actually.
In the decision between Cook and Samuel, I'd take Samuel between the two given the tough matchup for Cook. Really though, I want to start both guys, which 88% of fantasy owners are doing.
Make sure to use the FantasySP start/sit tool for all your toughest decisions tonight.
