Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings for Week 6: Where do Matthew Stafford, Bo Nix and Caleb Williams Fit In?
Morgan gives his week 6 fantasy football rankings for quarterbacks.
Let's go ahead and wrap up my week 6 fantasy football rankings for the offensive positions by looking over quarterbacks.
We already looked at PPR rankings for running backs, wide receivers and tight ends.
Check out week 6 fantasy football projections for quarterbacks on FantasySP as well.
Daniels was pretty good in his return to the field in week 5, and now I have him as QB1 for week 6.
He has a pretty favorable test against the Bears, who haven't been beaten by running quarterbacks much. Daniels will change that this week, and be the top fantasy finisher as a result.
2. Josh Allen
It's weird to not have Allen first, but the matchup against the Falcons is very tough.
I'd still have no issues playing Allen in week 6, just know he might not erupt like we've seen him do in the past.
3. Jalen Hurts
Hurts gets the third spot going into a Thursday night game against the Giants.
Hurts should excel in the average matchup, and might even take on more with Saquon Barkley banged up, so he should deliver a big fantasy score.
Mahomes is QB3 on average this season, so this might even be a low ranking for him.
The clash against the Lions is pretty average, and I expect Mahomes to deliver big results again.
Herbert has been underwhelming a couple weeks in a row, but a favorable test against the Dolphins should help him get rolling again.
With a lack of good running backs in Los Angeles, I see the Chargers passing early and often, which will help Herbert to a big fantasy day.
Stafford has been stellar this season, and now gets an elite matchup against the Ravens.
As long as this game isn't a blowout early, Stafford could finish even higher than sixth by the end of the week.
He's coming off two really good fantasy showings, and is actually QB4 on average this season.
In a tough test against the Broncos, I still expect Fields to get the job done.
8. Brock Purdy
I expect Purdy to be back out there this week, but you'll still need to watch his status as the week progresses.
Purdy has a top-end matchup against the Buccaneers, which is why I have him in the top 10, despite the injury and so-so results so far.
9. Bo Nix
At this point of the season, I'm going to start trusting the data more.
Nix has a very favorable matchup against the Jets, so he too gets a top-10 spot. He's been good over the past four games, so it's not that crazy of a pick.
10. Drake Maye
Maye lands in the top 10 again going into a favorable clash against the Saints.
He's QB10 on average so far, so this is the perfect spot for him.
11. Jordan Love
Love is fresh off his bye week, and has a pretty nice matchup against the Bengals to take advantage of.
The last time we saw Love, he was lighting up the Cowboys. I see him excelling in this one too.
12. Sam Darnold
I wrote in stories earlier this week that Darnold would rank pretty highly for me. How is No. 12?
He's been average or better in every week since week 1, so this isn't even that crazy a ranking. Darnold has the Jaguars in week 6, which is another above-average matchup for a QB to take advantage of.
13. Caleb Williams
Let's go with Williams at No. 13 this week.
He's coming off his bye week and has an above-average matchup against the Commanders. Washington looked better last week, so I'm a bit lower than Williams than most.
14. Baker Mayfield
Mayfield just continues to deliver week after week, so this ranking is probably too low again.
A tough test against the Niners is enough reason to rank him near the middle of the pack though.
15. Dak Prescott
Prescott has delivered back-to-back stellar fantasy outings, but I have him regressing to average this week.
He has the Panthers in week 6, which is a pretty tough matchup on paper, so that's why I'm down on him this week.
16. Jared Goff
Goff delivers most weeks, so it's hard to even have him ranked here.
He faces the Chiefs in week 6. It's a slightly above-average matchup, but with the team's backs likely to steal a couple scores, this seems like more than a fair spot to rank Goff.
17. Daniel Jones
Jones was above-average again in week 6, so he appears to be capable of leading the Colts all season.
He has a test against the Cardinals coming next. Arizona is one of the tougher fantasy tests for a quarterback, so that's why I'm a bit lower on Jones than most.
18. Kyler Murray
Murray has been so-so most of the season, and now has a foot injury to be a bit worried about.
Between that and a tough clash against the Colts, Murray's fantasy outlook isn't the best this week. I'd try to stay away from him in standard leagues.
19. Bryce Young
If you wanted to take a gamble on a quarterback with a good matchup, this is the guy.
Young gets the Cowboys, who are the most favorable fantasy matchup for a quarterback. He hasn't done enough this season to earn a higher ranking in my eyes.
20. Tua Tagovailoa
Tagovailoa looked pretty good in his first game without Tyreek Hill, so maybe that injury won't impact his fantasy outlook all that much.
He has a below-average test coming against the Chargers, so I'm a bit down on him in week 6. Let's see if he proves me wrong.
21. Spencer Rattler
Rattler has quietly been at least an average fantasy QB most weeks this season.
A slightly above-average test against the Patriots is a chance for Rattler to outperform my ranking yet again. This is the highest I've been on him yet.
22. Jaxson Dart
Dart has delivered some solid results through two games with the Giants.
He gets the Eagles on Thursday night in a pretty average test. With him a bit banged up, this is the safest place I feel for him.
23. Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers will take on the Browns after his bye in week 5.
That's a below-average test, so a below-average ranking seems more than fair.
24. Dillon Gabriel
Gabriel was solid in his first NFL start, and now gets a favorable matchup in his second start.
He will face the Steelers, who are a bottom-five defense when it comes to slowing opposing fantasy QBs. We'll see if the rookie can take advantage of things.
25. Trevor Lawrence
Lawrence is coming off a big fantasy showing, but two rushing scores propped that total up. He's been below-average more often than not this season.
He has an average test against the Seahawks in week 6, and I think he'll regress to a below-average QB again.
26. Michael Penix
Penix had his bye in week 5, but was good his last time out in week 4.
The Bills are a pretty average test for him, but with only a couple decent fantasy showings in four tries, I'm not super high on Penix yet.
27. Cameron Ward
Ward has failed to deliver even average fantasy scores yet, so I can't rank him any higher.
A clash against the Raiders is ever so slightly above average, but that's not enough to shoot him way up my rankings.
28. Joe Flacco
Flacco got traded to the Bengals this week, which was a plus for his fantasy outlook. He's going to start against the Packers this week.
It's a pretty average matchup upcoming, and with a better outlook, some fantasy owners are going to want to rank him higher. I need to see it from the aging QB before ranking him too highly.
29. Geno Smith
I'm out on Smith after he's delivered three duds over five weeks.
Tennessee is also a tougher matchup for Smith, so I'd do what I could to avoid him this week.
30. Cooper Rush
I expect Rush to start instead of Lamar Jackson again, and he takes up the final ranking in a week where two teams are on byes.
Rush was awful in his first start last week, so even in a pretty average test against the Rams, I'd be fully against starting Rush in week 6.
Final Notes
If Jackson starts for the Ravens, he'd rank between Mahomes and Herbert.
Jacoby Brissett is the Cardinals' backup quarterback and would start for Murray if he cannot go. I'd rank Brissett between Penix and Ward if he ends up starting.
If Mac Jones starts over Purdy, I'd rank Jones between Love and Darnold - he's proved enough to rank that highly.
