Top Fantasy Baseball Pitching Streamers and Pickups for Tuesday
Tuesday's pitching slate offers several worthwhile fantasy streamers, from reliable options to deeper-league gambles.
Let's go over our second round of fantasy baseball waiver wire/streaming options of the week! We will look at pitchers here.
Be sure to check back for the waiver wire article on hitters.
Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Ian Seymour - Tampa Bay Rays
Seymour has been added in 6.32% of fantasy baseball leagues so far today. That brings his overall mark to 50.76%.
He will be facing the Yankees on Tuesday evening. That's not a great matchup on paper, but New York's offense has struggled a bit of late, with the absence of Aaron Judge hurting.
Seymour has worked five or more innings in three straight outings. He threw 6 2/3 hitless innings in one appearance, and has only allowed four runs on 10 hits and two walks in that stretch. Seymour has 19 strikeouts in that span.
Seymour is trending up as a fantasy asset, which makes him a streaming option in all leagues, despite a bit tougher test today. I like him for sure in deeper leagues, and would consider him in standard leagues.
J.T. Ginn - Athletics
Ginn has been added in 2.97% of leagues, which brings his overall mark up to 64.12%.
Ginn gets a start against the Tigers tonight. That's a solid matchup, but Detroit has improved a bit of late.
Ginn has started 16 of the 19 games he's appeared in this season. He is 7-4 with a 3.04 earned run average. Over 94 2/3 innings, he's allowed 36 runs (32 earned) on 75 hits and 41 walks, while also striking out 82 batters.
I like Ginn in deeper leagues, and the matchup is solid enough to try him in standard leagues too. He's pitched pretty well of late, so at least an average fantasy showing should be possible.
Trevor McDonald - Toronto Blue Jays
McDonald is up 5.75% so far today - he sits at 14.18% overall.
He will start against the Blue Jays on Tuesday night. That's an OK matchup on paper, but nothing too special.
McDonald has started 11 games this season, and is 3-6 with a 4.42 ERA so far. He's allowed 31 runs (28 earned) on 51 hits and 19 walks over 57 innings. McDonald has struck out 50 batters so far.
He has pitched pretty well over his past two starts, but was below average in the two outings before that. I'd only want to stream him in deeper leagues today, especially because the matchup isn't anything special.
Clayton Beeter and Andrew Alvarez - Washington Nationals
Alvarez is up 4.18% as he prepares for a start - he's owned in 8.78% of leagues overall. Beeter is rostered in roughly 15% of leagues overall. That's up from 11% back on June 22.
Alvarez is starting against the Astros. Houston has some big hitters, but has been a so-so offense most of the year.
Alvarez has started five times this season over 11 appearances. He's 2-1 with a 3.05 ERA over 41 1/3 innings, allowing 14 runs on 51 hits and 16 walks - he's struck out 48 batters.
He's allowed three or less runs in all his appearances this season, but has topped out at 4 2/3 innings. With so-so strikeout numbers too, his fantasy ceiling is kind of limited. I'd only trust him in deeper fantasy leagues today for those reasons.
Beeter has pitched well over the past month or so. Over 10 appearances, he's 1-0 with three saves, two holds and two blown saves. He's allowed one run on three hits and five walks over 8 2/3 innings, while striking out 12 along the way.
Beeter has a win, hold and save over his past three appearances. He's trending up, but with the Nats not winning enough close games, his fantasy outlook is a bit hampered. He's one to keep an eye on, but he's really only a legit fantasy asset in really deep fantasy leagues for now.
Taj Bradley - Minnesota Twins
Bradley is owned in 77.48% of leagues after being scooped up in 2.86% of leagues today.
Bradley gets the Guardians on Tuesday night. That's a pretty good matchup on paper. Bradley hasn't faced them yet this season.
Over 16 appearances, Bradley is 7-3 with a 3.86 ERA. Over 88 2/3 innings, he's allowed 38 runs on 76 hits and 38 walks, while also striking out 102 batters.
Bradley has pitched pretty well of late, so going into a good matchup, I like adding/streaming him. He is set to start later this week against the Angels, who are another good matchup, so I'd add and hold Bradley for both his starts this week - and I'd hold him for as long as he's pitching well.
