Fantasy Baseball Sell-High Trade Candidates: Players to Flip After Hot Streaks

It's time to discuss some fantasy baseball trade options. We will come up with trade options based on recent performances.

Hitters Trending Up

Chase DeLauter - Cleveland Guardians

DeLauter has a .538 average over his past seven games. He has five RBIs, four walks, 14 hits, three runs scored and just two strikeouts over that span.

DeLauter is back up to 93% rostered right now. He was briefly under 80%.

He might not be a trade asset in all leagues as a result of being added/dropped this season, but he's a trade asset for sure in deeper leagues. If you can flip him in a standard league right now, I'd do it.

DeLauter just is a bit too inconsistent, so while he can be a high-end fantasy asset, he's a sell-high trade candidate after his recent hot streak.

Jordan Walker and Alec Burleson - St. Louis Cardinals

Walker has enjoyed a good season so far. He's especially hot of late, with a .429 average and .452 OBP over the past seven games. Walker has 12 hits, 11 RBIs, seven runs scored, two walks and stolen bases and six strikeouts in that span.

Again, Walker has been good/great all season, so I'd understand not wanting to bail on him. He's bound to cool off at some point though, and he hasn't been at this level over his career, so regression could be coming.

Sell Walker high if you are set otherwise on your team, or if he's at a position of strength and could help you address a position of weakness. 

Burleson has a .321 average and .406 OBP over his past seven games. He has 11 RBIs, nine total hits, seven runs scored, four walks and eight strikeouts.

He's been solid for parts of this season, but now that he's red hot, he's a sell-high trade candidate. Burleson is a valuable fantasy asset, and he could help land you a notable fantasy asset or two.

Burleson is worth throwing on the trade block. See what kinds of offers float in for him, and pull the trigger on a deal if something intrigues you, otherwise just hold him.

Ozzie Albies - Atlanta Braves

Albies has a .385 average and .452 OBP over his past seven games. He has a .397 average and .431 OBP over his past 15 contests, so he's been trending up for a while.

Albies has 23 hits, 13 RBIs, 15 runs scored, four homers and five walks and strikeouts over the past 15 contests. Those are stellar numbers, both in real life and fantasy baseball.

Albies is capable of high-end play, but he won't produce like he has this season. That makes him a sell-high candidate, especially after a red-hot stretch of hitting.

Cody Bellinger - New York Yankees

Bellinger has a .444 average and .484 OBP over his past seven contests. He has 12 total hits, 12 RBIs, four runs scored, two homers, three walks, a stolen base and four strikeouts in that span.

Bellinger is a good fantasy asset, but is a sell-high candidate after his past week of games. He's a big name too, so you can get a good haul for Bellinger.

Bellinger is enjoying a good season so far, but I still like the idea of at least throwing his name on the trading block. Definitely consider it if you have other options at positions Bellinger can play.

Pitchers Trending Up

Nick Martinez - Tampa Bay Rays

Martinez has been really good over seven starts this season. He has a 1.71 earned run average over 42 innings. Martinez has 28 strikeouts and a 3-1 record.

Martinez is now owned in 72% of fantasy leagues. He is a better trade candidate in deeper leagues, but he's also an option in standard leagues.

If you scooped Martinez up, see if you can flip him for a better asset, maybe a more proven one. Martinez is going to regress at some point, so try to capitalize on his great start before it ends.

Clay Holmes - New York Mets

Holmes has been really good over his seven starts so far this season. He's 4-2 with a 1.69 ERA over 42 2/3 innings. Holmes has 31 strikeouts so far.

Holmes is owned in 84% of leagues, so he's another better deep-league trade option. He could be flipped in a standard league too, especially to a pitcher-needy team.

At least throw Holmes' name out on the trade block. You might be surprised to see the offers that come in.

Cam Schlittler - New York Yankees

Schlittler has been stellar all season, and he continues to dominate on the hill. Over eight starts, Schlittler is 5-1 with a 1.52 ERA over 47 1/3 innings. He has 53 strikeouts so far.

Schlittler is a trade option in all leagues. He has made a name for himself, so acquiring him won't be cheap.

That makes it a perfect time to sell high on Schlittler. You could get the world for him. He's due for a little regression as the season progresses, so flip Schlittler now before that regression hits.
