Fantasy Baseball Injury Report: Stanton, Lindor Headline Key Updates
The latest on Stanton, Lindor and more, plus what their injuries mean for fantasy managers.
It's been a few days since we discussed MLB injury updates, so let's go over some here.
Check back throughout the season for even more injury updates.
Fantasy baseball injury news can be found all season on FantasySP.
Giancarlo Stanton - New York Yankees
Stanton is the latest Yankee on the injured list. He's going to hit the 10-day IL because of right calf tightness.
Jasson Dominguez was called up on Monday to help fill in for Stanton as he was missing games. Now, Dominguez has a clearer path to playing time, and can be added in more leagues - but just on a short-term basis.
Stanton has played 24 games and gotten 96 plate appearances so far. He has a .256 average and .302 on-base percentage, plus 14 RBIs, eight runs scored, a stolen base, six walks and 29 strikeouts. He has six doubles and three homers among his 23 total hits.
Stanton has been the team's designated hitter, so now New York could use that spot to give some of its top hitters some days off. That could mean Aaron Judge, Ben Rice, Cody Bellinger or others are the DH, and that in turn could help guys like Dominguez start and have fantasy relevance.
Hopefully Stanton is not out too long, as he'll be missed by the Yankees' lineup. It makes Stanton droppable in standard leagues, especially if you don't have unlimited IR spots to stash him in.
If he gets dropped in your league, be watching his status for when he's near a return. Consider adding Stanton at that time, as he can be a really good fantasy asset.
Toronto Blue Jays
There's several injury updates to discuss with the Blue Jays, so let's drive right in.
Trey Yesavage is going to be activated off the injured list today. He's been out all season because of a right shoulder impingement.
Yesavage is available in a few leagues, but only to a few of you reading. Stop reading this and add him immediately if he's a free agent in your fantasy league.
He was a great fantasy asset in 2025, and he could return to that level of pitching right away. Now is the time to buy into Yesavage if you want him on your team.
Max Scherzer was the latest starting pitcher to hit the injured list. He's on the 15-day IL with right forearm tendinitis and left ankle inflammation.
He isn't a huge fantasy asset at this point of his career, so now, he's droppable in all leagues. Watch for his return, and treat him as a streamer at that point.
George Springer is still out with his left big toe fracture, and he still hasn't run the bases, although he's ramped up his baseball activities.
Keep tabs on his return, and be ready to add him if he is available in your league. Now could also be a time to buy low on Springer in a trade.
Jose Berrios is nearing a return to the big leagues, and is slated to make potentially his last rehab start later today. Berrios is available in most leagues, so now is the time to add him in some deeper leagues.
He can be a good fantasy asset, like he has been in the past. So be watching his statlines after he returns, as he could work back into standard leagues with some good pitching.
Eugenio Suarez - Cincinnati Reds
Suarez is on the 10-day IL with a left oblique strain. The Reds are hoping it will be a short IL stint, but his absence is a blow to his fantasy outlook and the Reds in the real world.
He has played in 25 games and logged 100 plate appearances this season. Suarez has a .231 average and .300 OBP so far, plus 11 RBIs, 10 runs scored, nine walks and 30 strikeouts. He has three doubles and home runs among his 21 total hits.
Suarez is off to a bit of a slow start, so maybe this little break can help him get back on track after. He's worth tracking as he nears a return, as he's been dropped in some leagues.
He's at 88% rostered right now, and will drop even more as he's out. Suarez is addable when he's back on the field, and better days are likely ahead.
Francisco Lindor - New York Mets
Juan Soto was on the injured list for a bit for the Mets, and the day he returned, Lindor got hurt and is now on the 10-day IL. He's out with a left calf strain.
Lindor is going to miss more than 10 days, as he's set for a follow-up MRI in May, then maybe a ramp-up period over time. There's a chance Lindor is dropped in some fantasy leagues if he's out for several more weeks, so that's something to track.
He is sitting with a .226 average and .314 OBP over 24 games and 105 plate appearances. Lindor has two doubles, triples and homers among his 21 total hits. He also has just five RBIs, 14 runs scored, two stolen bases, 11 walks and 19 strikeouts.
Lindor missing time is a blow to his fantasy owners and the Mets, who have struggled mightily out of the gate. His fantasy owners will have to play the waiver wire until Lindor is back, and nobody on the wire is at the level of Lindor.
Keep tabs on his return, but do your best to hold him through the injury. His slow start means you'd be selling him really low in a trade right now. Of course, that means now is a perfect time to go get the Mets' shortstop for cheap.
