5 Fantasy Baseball Players You Can Drop Tuesday: Multiple Red Sox, Stott and More

Several recognizable names are trending toward the waiver wire as fantasy managers make their playoff pushes.

Let's now turn our attention to some fantasy baseball drop candidates.

More droppable player data can be located on the waiver wire trends most dropped tab, which can be found on any fantasy baseball page here at FantasySP.

Bryson Stott - Philadelphia Phillies

Stott is rostered in 82.21% of fantasy baseball leagues right now. He was at 90.87% a couple days ago.

He had a foot injury he was dealing with, but he didn't miss a game. On Monday, he had a hit, but also struck out twice. That hit was his only one over the past five contests.

Over 126 games and 494 plate appearances this season, Stott has a .259 average and .336 on-base percentage. He has 113 total hits, including 25 doubles, nine homers and six triples, plus 59 RBIs, 57 runs scored, 23 stolen bases, 50 walks and 82 strikeouts.

He should now be eligible at third base, along with second base, and maybe shortstop - the more spots he's eligible at, the better. He's struggled a bit at the plate of late, so he's droppable in some standard leagues, but be ready to add him back if his bat heats back up ever.

Pete Fairbanks - Miami Marlins

Fairbanks is owned in 63.59% of leagues, but is trending down of late. He also left Monday's game with nerve irritation, so he could be headed for the injured list.

He was tagged with a loss in that game after allowing a run. Fairbanks has allowed a run in two of his past three appearances.

Overall this season, Fairbanks is 4-5 with 18 saves, four blown saves and two holds. Over 40 1/3 innings, he's struck out 57 batters and owns a 6.02 earned run average.

Those are lackluster numbers, so it's a bit surprising to see him owned in as many leagues as he is. With him battling an injury, he's droppable in any standard leagues he's held in. If he hits the IL, he can be dropped in some deeper fantasy leagues as well.

Ranger Suarez - Boston Red Sox

Suarez was sitting at 89.91% after his last start, but a poor performance in that one has him being dropped today.

He only allowed one run in that outing, but he gave up four hits and four walks, so his pitch count was at 93 and he was pulled. He also hit two batters, so his control was poor, to say the least. Suarez had four strikeouts to work out of more danger.

Over 118 1/3 innings this season, Suarez has a 3.35 ERA, so he's actually limited runs pretty well overall. He's got 117 strikeouts as well, while walking 37. Over 23 appearances, he's got a 5-3 record.

Most fantasy owners are treating him as a streaming option in standard leagues, and I'd be doing the same. He's not worth holding between starts, especially if he isn't pitching that well. Be ready to add him before his next starts, but also don't be afraid to drop him between his outings too.

Willy Adames - San Francisco Giants

Adames is rostered in 53.88% of leagues at the moment. He's trending down because he's on the injured list.

Adames hit the injured list with a left elbow sprain. The team expects him to miss more than 10 days too, so that's a bit more concerning.

He's reportedly going to play again this season, but with the fantasy season winding down, it makes it hard to justify holding Adames. He can definitely be dropped in all standard leagues, and a handful of deeper leagues. Be ready to add him back in deeper leagues, at least, if he returns late in the season.

Over 121 games and 505 plate appearances this season, he owns a .230 average and .289 OBP. He has 21 homers, 25 doubles, a triple and 107 total hits. Adames has tallied 51 RBIs, 62 runs scored, 37 walks, five stolen bases and 139 strikeouts.

Adley Rutschman - Boston Red Sox

Rutschman sits at 85.02% rostered at this moment. He was at 87% just three days ago, so he's starting to be let go in a few leagues.

He has just one hit over his past five games played. The hit was a single, and while he also scored a run, he has no RBIs or walks in that stretch, plus three strikeouts.

Rutschman has just a .146 average and .255 OBP over his first 12 games and 47 plate appearances with the Red Sox. He has a .236 average and .320 OBP overall this season, and he's bound to get rolling at the plate again soon.

For now though, he's droppable in some standard leagues. Be ready to scoop him up if he heats up later this season, but for now, you can avoid him.
