We're going to jump right in today and look at four starting pitchers in action on Tuesday who have good matchups and are widely available in fantasy leagues. 

Most stats are from MLB.com, as are the probable starters. The full streamer rankings are listed at the bottom.

Adrian Houser, San Francisco Giants vs. Cincinnati Reds

Houser struggled a little earlier in the season, but he has been much better recently. In his past three starts, Houser has combined for 16 innings with 12 hits and just one run allowed, walking four and striking out 12. He hasn't given up a run in his past 15 innings. Houser is good with walks but far below average with strikeouts, limiting his fantasy ceiling. He's an OK guy to consider given his recent success, but don't expect anything big out of the veteran pitcher, just some decent innings.

I keep saying the same thing about Cincinnati every day, so much so that it's getting a little boring: they hit home runs and draw walks, but they are very poor in every other area, including striking out as much as any other team in the league. Only two hitters with at least 250 at-bats are hitting over .250, and no one at that threshold is over .263. Sal Stewart and Elly De La Cruz are having good seasons, both with over 20 doubles and 20 home runs, but the rest of the team is mostly faltering consistently. We'll keep going after the Reds as often as we can.

Houser is a low-to-mid-level streamer. He has been really good recently, and the matchup is right, but Houser is painfully low with strikeouts, leaving a lower ceiling.

Anthony Kay, Chicago White Sox vs. Texas Rangers

The Rangers rank in the bottom 10 (or very close to it) in essentially every offensive box stat over the full season; that's enough to put them on our streaming list. After a bit of a successful stretch, though, they have been especially bad over the past month, ranking in the bottom five in most areas, including scoring the fewest runs per game in that time. Throw in a top-10 strikeout rate, and Texas is one of the best targets we can go after right now.

Kay has been very average this season, something that wasn't guaranteed after spending a few seasons in Japan when he couldn't break through into a regular big-league role. He is good with walks but below average with strikeouts, a common type we find on the streaming list. There isn't a big ceiling here, but Kay is a guy worth considering when the matchup is right, and this is one of those days.

Kay is a low-to-mid-level streamer. The outlook would be a little better if this game was played in Texas (a big-time pitcher's park), but since it takes place in Chicago, it's not quite as enticing. Still, Kay is worth consideration, especially in deeper leagues.

Aaron Nola, Philadelphia Phillies @ Seattle Mariners

Nola was formerly an ace-level pitcher owned in every fantasy league. He is now owned in a little over 50% of leagues, making him a fringe streamer but still a guy with enough availability to make it worth checking to see if you can pick him up. Nola was doing well with walks and strikeouts but getting hit too hard earlier in the season. He has done much better lately, allowing two or fewer runs in each of his past three starts with at least eight strikeouts in each game. Nola is looking much more like he did in past seasons, and he might be worth keeping if you're able to pick him up.

The Mariners are one of the best streaming targets around, hitting like a clear bottom-five team that has scored the fewest runs in the league. They sit in the middle in home runs but strike out at a top-10 rate, setting a high ceiling for opposing pitchers. Seattle has continued their woeful ways recently, so it's not like they have any reason to give us pause. We will keep targeting the Mariners every day that we can. (Just ignore their outburst yesterday and the fact that Cal Raleigh might be finding his swing after three home runs in that game...)

Nola is a mid-to-high-level streamer. I might be pumping him up a little too much given his earlier struggles, but Nola has been much better lately, and we've seen him pitch like an ace in the past. With a great matchup, Nola should be in a lineup in pretty much every league today.

Walbert Urena, Los Angeles Angels vs. Cleveland Guardians

Cleveland is another team with many bottom-five stats over the full season that has also been struggling recently. They do well drawing walks, but the Guardians otherwise top out in the middle in any other category, not doing much to scare opposing pitchers. Along with the walks, Cleveland doesn't strike out much; that leaves the ceiling a little lower when facing them, but there's also a nice floor against a team that has struggled offensively all season.

Urena has had a very good debut season, racking up 112 2/3 innings with just 81 hits, 35 earned runs (2.80 ERA), and seven home runs allowed and a strikeout rate a hair better than average. He has walked too many hitters, and that can cause some issues and shorten his starts at times, but Urena has been able to overcome those concerns to put together a sparkling rookie year at just 22 years old. He will be a much more popular fantasy player next season if he continues to pitch like this (and could even improve).

Urena is a mid-level streamer. Cleveland doesn't present the highest ceiling, but Urena has been very good, and we're running out of reasons to not trust him. His fantasy ownership has risen throughout the year to fringe streamer status.
