Update on Guardians' Prospects: C.J. Kayfus, Travis Bazzana and More
Taking a look at some Guardians' prospects as July winds down.
Let's continue our series looking at MLB organization's prospects by looking over the Cleveland Guardians.
We have looked at prospects for the Tigers, Dodgers, Astros, Cubs, Phillies, Blue Jays, Mets, Brewers, Yankees, Padres, Red Sox, Giants, Mariners, Cardinals, Reds, Rays and Rangers already. We'll focus on players age 25 or below.

Top Performing Hitters
C.J. Kayfus leads Cleveland with 90 hits on the season. He's the team's No. 5 prospect and is No. 71 on the top-100 prospect list.
The 23-year-old is in Triple-A and is expected to debut later this season. Across two minor league levels this season, Kayfus has a .304 average and .395 on-base percentage, along with 53 RBIs, 50 runs scored, 41 walks, four stolen bases and 89 strikeouts. He has 17 doubles, 14 home runs and eight triples among his hits.
Christian Knapczyk is at 84 hits this year. He isn't among the team's top-30 prospects right now.
Knapczyk is a 23-year-old playing in High-A. He's got 17 doubles, six homers and a triple among his hits, along with 43 runs scored, 40 RBIs, 35 walks, 11 stolen bases and 54 strikeouts.
Petey Halpin has recorded 80 hits so far. He's the team's No. 25 prospect. Halpin is 23 years old, plays in Triple-A and has a 2026 ETA.
Halpin has a .256 average and .333 OBP over 83 games this season. He has 18 doubles, 10 homers and four triples among his hits, along with 58 runs scored, 26 RBIs, 36 walks, five stolen bases and 106 strikeouts.
Jose Devers and Cooper Ingle are each at 76 hits. Ingle is ranked eighth, while Devers isn't ranked.
Devers is 22 years old and plays in High-A. He has 12 homers, 24 doubles and two triples among his hits. Devers has posted 47 runs scored, 44 RBIs, 19 walks, 12 stolen bases and 109 strikeouts so far.
Ingle is a 23-year-old catcher playing in Double-A - he has a 2026 ETA. He has a .273 average and .390 OBP over 77 games this year, while also having 50 runs scored, 42 RBIs, 54 walks, 60 strikeouts and no stolen bases.
Top Performing Pitchers
Among pitchers with at least 30 innings pitched, Sean Matson leads the way in earned run average with a stellar 1.21 mark. Matson isn't ranked among the team's top-30 prospects.
Matson is 3-2 over five starts and 20 appearances. In 59 2/3 innings, he has 70 strikeouts and 16 walks. Matson is 23 years old and has been in Single-A all season.
Rodney Boone has a 1.90 ERA over 71 innings. He also isn't ranked.
Boone is 25 years old and pitching in Double-A. He has a 6-3 record over 15 starts. Boone has 63 strikeouts and 19 walks.
Parker Messick has racked up 99 strikeouts on the season. He's ranked No. 12 in the organization. The 24-year-old is working in Triple-A and is expected to debut yet this season.
Messick is 4-4 with a 3.47 ERA over 17 starts and 80 1/3 innings. He's walked 38 batters and has a .216 average against him.
Matt Wilkinson has 87 punchouts so far. He's not ranked either.
He's 22 years old and working in High-A. Over 18 starts, Wilkinson is 3-8 with a 4.86 ERA. He has walked 37 batters over 74 innings.
Dylan DeLucia has 87 strikeouts so far. DeLucia is also not ranked.
DeLucia has pitched in High-A and Double-A so far this season, covering 80 1/3 innings. He's 5-6 over 16 starts and 18 total appearances, and has walked 28 batters.
Top-Ranked Prospects
Travis Bazzana is the team's No. 1 prospect and is No. 14 overall in baseball. The 22-year-old is in Double-A and has a 2025 ETA.
Across two minor league levels this season, Bazzana has played in just 43 games. He has a .268 average and .388 OBP, along with 39 runs scored, 20 RBIs, 28 walks, 46 strikeouts and nine stolen bases. Bazzana has 10 doubles, four homers and three triples across his 42 total hits.
Chase DeLauter is the team's No. 2 prospect and sits at No. 31 overall. The 23-year-old outfielder is in Triple-A and has a 2025 ETA as well.
DeLauter has a .264 average and .379 OBP over 42 games at two minor league levels this season. He has 39 total hits, including eight doubles, seven homers and a triple, along with 28 runs scored, 24 walks, 28 walks and strikeouts and one stolen base.
Angel Genao is the third-ranked prospect for Cleveland - he's No. 44 overall. The 21-year-old is in Double-A and has a 2026 ETA.
Across two minor league levels and 43 games, Genao has a .265 average and .344 OBP. He has nine doubles, four homers and a triple among his 43 hits, while also tallying 27 runs scored, 23 RBIs, 20 walks, 31 strikeouts and three stolen bases.
Jaison Chourio ranks No. 68 in baseball and is the team's fourth-ranked prospect. He's in High-A as a 20-year-old and has a 2027 ETA.
He has a .199 average and .384 OBP over 51 games at two minor league levels this season. Chourio has four doubles and a homer among his 33 total hits. He also has 28 runs scored, 10 RBIs, 50 walks, 52 strikeouts and eight stolen bases.
