Rangers' Prospect Check-In: Sebastian Walcott, Cody Freeman and More
Taking a look at some Rangers' prospects as July winds down.
Let's continue our series looking at MLB organization's prospects by looking over the Texas Rangers.
We have looked at prospects for the Tigers, Dodgers, Astros, Cubs, Phillies, Blue Jays, Mets, Brewers, Yankees, Padres, Red Sox, Giants, Mariners, Cardinals, Reds and Rays already. We'll focus on players age 25 or below.

Top Performing Hitters
Cody Freeman leads the organization with 99 hits on the season. He was recently called up to the big leagues, but isn't ranked among the team's top-30 prospects.
Over 79 games and 350 plate appearances at Triple-A this season, Freeman had a .315 average and .367 on-base percentage. He had 20 doubles and 12 homers among his hits, along with 54 RBIs, 60 runs scored, eight stolen bases, 28 walks and just 31 strikeouts.
Freeman has a double, RBI and two runs scored across his first three MLB games. He hasn't walked, while striking out once over five plate appearances.
Maxton Martin has 87 knocks in 2025. He's the team's 30th-ranked prospect.
Martin is 20 years old, plays in Single-A and has a 2028 ETA. He's got a .264 average and .333 OBP over 81 games this season, along with 60 runs scored, 49 RBIs, 29 walks, 10 stolen bases and 78 strikeouts. Martin has 21 doubles, eight homers and six triples among his hits.
Keyber Rodriguez, Cameron Cauley and Sebastian Walcott all have 78 hits so far. Walcott is the team's top prospect and is ranked No. 4 overall in baseball. Cauley is ranked 16th, while Rodriguez isn't a top-30 prospect.
Rodriguez is a 24-year-old playing in Double-A. Across 73 games, he has 27 RBIs and runs scored, along with 24 walks, nine stolen bases and 54 strikeouts. Rodriguez has 14 doubles and two triples and homers among his hits.
Cauley is a 22-year-old playing in Double-A - he has a 2026 ETA. Along with a .248 average and .319 OBP over 83 games, Cauley has 51 runs scored, 31 RBIs, 33 walks, 24 stolen bases and 86 strikeouts. Among his hits, he has 18 doubles, eight home runs and eight triples.
Walcott is playing in Double-A as a 19-year-old - he has a 2026 ETA as well. He's hitting .248, but getting on base at a .344 clip. Walcott has 16 doubles, 10 homers and a triple among his hits, along with 49 runs scored, 43 RBIs, 44 walks, 23 stolen bases and 79 strikeouts.
Top Performing Pitchers
Josh Trentadue has a 1.24 earned run average over 50 2/3 innings this season. He isn't a top-30 prospect for Texas.
Trentadue is a 23-year-old pitching in High-A. Over eight starts and 14 appearances, he has 64 strikeouts and 16 walks.
David Davalillo has posted a 1.96 ERA over 69 innings. He's the team's No. 26 prospect.
The 22-year-old is working in Double-A and has a 2027 ETA. He's 5-2 over 14 starts and 15 total appearances. He's struck out 86 batters, walked 16 and has a .168 average against him.
Mitch Bratt has struck out 100 batters over 80 innings. He's ranked 18th in the organization.
The 22-year-old has a 2026 ETA and pitches in Double-A. Bratt is 5-2 with a 2.70 ERA over 15 starts and 16 appearances. He's walked 13 batters and has a .246 average against him.
Kohl Drake is up to 82 strikeouts over 67 2/3 innings. He's the 10th-ranked prospect for the Rangers.
The 25-year-old is in Triple-A, but still has a 2026 ETA. He's 5-4 over 14 starts and 15 appearances at two minor league levels this season. Drake has a 2.93 ERA, 26 walks and a .189 average against him.
Jose Gonzalez has 81 punchouts over 73 1/3 innings. He isn't a top-30 prospect for the team.
He's 23 years old and working in High-A. He has a 3-7 record and 3.19 ERA over 15 starts and 16 appearances. Gonzalez has walked 18 batters so far.
Top-Ranked Prospects
Malcolm Moore is the team's No. 2 prospect. The 21-year-old catcher is playing in High-A and has a 2027 ETA.
Moore has a .182 average and .323 OBP over 29 minor league games at two stops this season. He has a .195 average and .311 OBP over 54 career minor league games.
Winston Santos is the third-ranked prospect for Texas. The 23-year-old pitcher is in Double-A and has a 2026 ETA.
He's worked just 5 2/3 innings this season. Santos has a 4.30 ERA across 356 career minor league innings. He's struck out 381 batters, walked 101 and has a .241 average against him.
Emiliano Teodo is the team's No. 4 prospect, while Alejandro Rosario is No. 5.
Teodo is 24 years old, pitches in Triple-A and is expected to debut later this season. Across 18 1/3 innings this season, he has a 8.84 ERA, but he's got a career 3.47 ERA over 280 career minor league innings. He's struck out 381 batters, walked 162 and has a .199 average against him.
Rosario is a 23-year-old who hasn't pitched this year - he has a 2027 ETA. In 2024, he was 4-5 with a 2.24 ERA over 17 starts and 18 appearances at two minor league stops. Rosario covered 88 1/3 innings, striking out 129 and walking just 13. He had a .207 average against him.
