More Fantasy Baseball Week 25 Waiver Wire Adds: Tommy Edman, Luke Raley, Lane Thomas, Parker Meadows
Discussing the most-added fantasy baseball players in the last half of week 25 of the fantasy baseball season.
The weekend is here, which means it’s time for another fantasy baseball waiver wire story.
Typically, there’s a bunch of solid options among hitters or relief pitchers (as the top starting pitchers on the wire are all named in streaming stories), but today, there’s only a few really solid options.
I try to stick with players who got at least a 2% own increase, but had to expand that even to get to four names. Let’s break these guys down!

Tommy Edman Fantasy Outlook
Edman hasn’t played a ton this season, but is starting to really heat up for the Dodgers down the stretch. His own percentage is 52 after sitting around 35 just a week ago.
Over the past five games, Edman has nine total hits, including a double and four home runs. He’s got eight RBIs, five runs scored, a walk and three strikeouts over that span.
Edman has posted good numbers in his 21 games in the big leagues this season. He sits with a .300 average and .321 on-base percentage, and has seven extra-base hits among his 24 total knocks.
Because there’s not a lot of good hitting options now, and Edman is playing every day and providing some pop, he’s a waiver wire target in all league types. At this point, it’s about adding the hottest hitters, and Edman is one of those guys. Add him and start him until he cools off.
Luke Raley Fantasy Outlook
Raley went hitless on Thursday, but had four hits across the previous three games, so it’s no surprise to see his own percentage on the rise. He’s only rostered in 14% of leagues though.
In that little three-game span, he hit a homer and two doubles, while also driving in five runs, walking three times, striking out once and scoring four times. He cooled off Thursday, striking out twice across four at-bats, but he did reach and steal a base.
Raley is only a waiver wire option in deeper leagues, and his little hot streak might have already passed. With a lack of other options available, Raley is definitely at least worth considering in deeper leagues. He should have some position versatility as well, so he’s not a bad pickup for the last couple weeks, even if it’s only to serve as depth.
Lane Thomas Fantasy Outlook
Thomas was part of some recent waiver wire stories, and remained hot this week, so his own percentage continues to go up. He’s at 63% now.
He’s got a hit in eight straight games, and has 16 hits across 11 September games (10 starts). Thomas has five doubles and three home runs among the hits, along with 14 RBIs, six runs scored, no walks, 15 strikeouts and a stolen base.
I was skeptical of adding Thomas just a couple days ago, but now I’m all in on adding him. There’s just not many good waiver options now, and Thomas is doing enough at the plate to add in any league format. He’s a better starter in a deeper league, but I’d be fine rolling with him in a standard league for the time being - at least until he cools off a bit at the plate.
Parker Meadows Fantasy Outlook
Meadows also went hitless on Thursday, but had five hits across the previous three contests. His own percentage sits at 25, after sitting around 13 just a couple days ago.
In his three-game hot streak, Meadows had a home run and double, along with five RBIs, three walks, four runs scored and just two strikeouts. He walked once on Thursday, and avoided a strikeout, so his “off game” was still not too bad.
Meadows is yet another deep league waiver wire option. Because of his lack of strikeouts recently, I like him a little bit better than Raley at this point. If there’s no better options out there, you might as well give Meadows a roster spot for a couple days.
Keep checking the Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pickups page over the weekend, as the list updates every day, and better waiver wire options might appear. Hopefully by Monday (the next waiver wire story), I have some better options to bring you!
