There were 15 MLB games played on Wednesday, May 15, so it’s time to discuss the day’s top performances.

We’ll check out pitching in this story after already going over the top hitters. There were some great starts, and several games that were determined late, so starters didn’t get a decision. Let’s break it all down and include some season stats for some pitchers.

Orioles 3, Blue Jays 2

Kyle Bradish started for Baltimore and pitched four innings. He allowed two runs on four hits and two walks, while striking out three batters. He’s got a 2.63 earned run average so far this season.

Danny Coulombe earned his first win after tossing a scoreless inning out of the bullpen.

Yusei Kikuchi allowed a run on six hits and one walk over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out nine and has a 2.60 ERA now.

Jordan Romano blew his first save and took his first loss after allowing a two-run, walk-off homer.

Marlins 2, Tigers 0

Trevor Rogers tossed five scoreless innings to earn his first win for Miami. He allowed three hits and two walks, while striking out six.

Tanner Scott picked up his fifth save after working around two hits in the ninth inning.

Casey Mize took the loss for Detroit after pitching six innings. He allowed two runs on two hits and a walk, while striking out six. Mize has a 3.50 ERA this season.

Brewers 10, Pirates 2

Robert Gasser improved to 2-0 after working five innings in his second career MLB start. He allowed a run on six hits and a walk, while striking out two. Gasser has a 0.82 ERA through two starts.

Martin Perez was tagged for nine runs on 11 hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four and fell to 1-3 overall.

White Sox 2, Nationals 0

Garrett Crochet improved to 4-4 after striking out six batters over five scoreless innings. He surrendered three hits and walks.

Michael Kopech earned his fifth save for Chicago after striking out two batters in the ninth.

Patrick Corbin fell to 1-4 after allowing two runs on six hits and two walks. Corbin failed to record a strikeout across 5 2/3 innings.

Diamondbacks 2, Reds 1

Brandon Pfaadt started for Arizona, striking out nine over seven strong innings. He allowed a run on two hits and walks.

Ryan Thompson got his first win out of the pen, and Paul Sewald locked down his second save.

Andrew Abbott also turned in a solid start for Cincinnati, allowing a run on four hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out four and has a 3.06 ERA for the season.

Fernando Cruz was tagged with his fourth loss after allowing a run in the eighth. 

Rockies 8, Padres 0

Austin Gomber got his first win after striking out five batters across six innings. He allowed two hits and walks and now has a 3.02 ERA for the season.

Michael King fell to 3-4 after giving up six runs on eight hits and two walks over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out seven along the way.

Mariners 4, Royals 2

Bryan Woo earned his first win after pitching the first 5 1/3 innings for Seattle. He allowed a run on three hits and a walk, while striking out five.

Andres Munoz got his seventh save after striking out three batters and getting the final five outs.

Alec Marsh fell to 3-1 after working five innings for Kansas City. He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk, while striking out seven.

Phillies 10, Mets 5

Ranger Suarez moved to 8-0 on the season after pitching five innings for Philadelphia. He allowed two runs (neither earned) on four hits and two walks, while striking out three. Suarez has a 1.37 ERA for the season.

Joey Lucchesi was dealt the loss in his season debut. He surrendered five runs on five hits and four walks over 4 1/3 innings. Lucchesi struck out two batters.

Rays 4, Red Sox 3

Taj Bradley picked up his first win after allowing two runs over five innings. He struck out six batters while giving up four hits and a walk. Bradley has a 2.45 ERA through two starts.

Kevin Kelly earned his first save after striking out two batters.

Tanner Houck took the loss and fell to 3-5. He allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks over 5 2/3 innings. Houck struck out seven and now has a 2.17 ERA.

Greg Weissert was charged with his second blown save after following Houck on the hill.

Cubs 7, Braves 1

Javier Assad moved to 4-1 after striking out seven over six scoreless innings. He allowed four hits and a walk and now has a 1.49 ERA for the season.

Charlie Morton took his first loss of the season, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks. Morton struck out four over three innings and still has a 3.52 ERA for the season.

Yankees 4, Twins 0

Marcus Stroman pitched six scoreless innings to improve to 3-2 on the season. He allowed two hits and three walks, while striking out a pair. He’s got a 3.33 ERA so far.

Pablo Lopez took the loss on the bump, allowing three runs on 10 hits over 6 1/3 innings. Lopez struck out three along the way.

Rangers 4, Guardians 0

Jon Gray moved to 2-1 after working 6 1/3 scoreless innings. He gave up four hits and two walks, while striking out three. Gray now has a 2.08 ERA.

Carlos Carrasco fell to 2-4 after allowing two runs over five innings. He gave up five hits and a walk, while striking out three.

Astros 3, Athletics 0

Framber Valdez improved to 3-1 after striking out eight over seven scoreless innings. He only allowed two hits and walks, and now has a 2.95 ERA.

Seth Martinez pitched the final two innings to get his first save.

Aaron Brooks started and took the loss for Oakland, allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out five along the way.

Angels 7, Cardinals 2

Griffin Canning improved to 2-4 after allowing just one run over six frames. He gave up five hits and three walks, while striking out five.

Lance Lynn took the loss and fell to 1-2. He surrendered four runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings. Lynn struck out five batters.

Giants 4, Dodgers 1

Logan Webb tossed six shutout innings to get the win and improve to 4-4. He allowed three hits and walks, while striking out five batters. Webb lowered his ERA to 3.03.

Camilo Doval eventually picked up the save, striking out two batters to work around a hit and walk. Doval has seven saves and a 3.18 ERA now.

Elieser Hernandez took the loss for Los Angeles after giving up three runs on four hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three batters along the way.
