Fantasy Football Week 10 Expert Picks: Kyle Monangai, Rico Dowdle, and More
The experts at FantasySP answer five questions in advance of Week 10 of the NFL season.
We have passed the midpoint of the NFL season. Fantasy football playoffs are going to start within the next two months, meaning that owners are running out of time to put together wins and build the strongest roster possible. The holidays start in earnest in three weeks, and the momentum will roll right through the end of the year before you know it.
In the fantasy world, more questions are only arising each week, as injuries build up and depth charts shift. The trade deadline gave us even more movement, and teams who fall out of the playoff race will begin to give time to younger players, offering new fantasy opportunities.
Luckily, the experts at FantasySP are here to help. Brant Tedeschi, Morgan Rode, and Daniel Hepner answered five questions relating to fantasy football as we head into the weekend of Week 10.

Which quarterback are you staying away from in Week 10?
Morgan: I'd be skeptical to start Daniel Jones this week. He struggled last week and now has a tougher test against the Falcons. Check out your other options and see if there's a QB with a better matchup available.
Daniel: Mac Jones is again set to start for the 49ers with Brock Purdy progressing but not ready to return. The Rams have allowed the fifth-fewest yards per pass attempt and the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. With San Francisco still struggling to get healthy everywhere, their QB isn't set up for success in Week 10.
Do you have a flex-level running back that you're expecting things from?
Morgan: Kyle Monangai would be my pick regardless if D'Andre Swift plays or not. The matchup against the Giants is stellar, so both Bears' backs could shine as fantasy assets. If Swift is out again, Monangai would be a no-brainer start.
Daniel: Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones Sr. have split the snaps and touches the past two games since Jones returned from injury. Neither did anything when they were blown out by the Chargers in Week 8, but Jones outplayed Mason last week, turning nine carries into 78 yards while Mason had 10 for 36. Both players have a good matchup against the Ravens, who have given up the fourth-most fantasy points per game to running backs. Both Jones and Mason have some flex value, with Jones having more pass-catching prowess.
How about a wide receiver who is going to surprise fantasy owners this week?
Morgan: Wan'Dale Robinson is the first one who comes to mind for me. His matchup against the Bears is fantastic, and he has been an underrated fantasy asset already all season. I see him being a top-20 fantasy wideout this week with top-10 upside.
Daniel: Jameson Williams had a good game last week after his offensive coordinator said he was going to make sure Williams got more touches. This week, the Lions face the Commanders, who have given up the most yards per pass attempt and the fifth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Williams is likely to get the ball on a few plays specifically designed for him, and against a team so susceptible to the pass, he has a good chance to break a big play.
Give us a tight end likely to struggle due to a tough matchup.
Morgan: Most of the high-end tight ends have favorable fantasy matchups this weekend. One top-end option who has a tough matchup is Tyler Warren, but I'd think most fantasy owners are going to trust him regardless. Just don't be surprised if he underwhelms a bit.
Brant: George Kittle. The Los Angeles Rams are very tough against tight ends, and Kittle has yet to have a breakout week this season. I don't think it will happen this week either, and fantasy owners should expect very modest production.
Daniel: Warren and Kittle are the two guys of note who owners should be wary of. If we're looking more at the lower tier, the three Pittsburgh tight ends, Jonnu Smith, Pat Freiermuth, and Darnell Washington, all have a really tough matchup against the Chargers, who have given up the fourth-fewest yards per pass attempt and the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends.
Who will be the fantasy MVP of Week 10?
Morgan: When Puka Nacua is healthy, I expect him to be the top fantasy player most times. He looks like he'll be good to go this week, and I think he will deliver another big fantasy score against the Niners.
Daniel: Rico Dowdle just keeps having big games. Head coach Dave Canales said the team was going to start leaning more on Dowdle if he kept succeeding, and that was the case in Week 9, as Dowdle carried the ball 25 times for 130 yards with two touchdowns. Chuba Hubbard only took five carries for 17 yards. Dowdle matches up with a weak Saints team this week and has a chance at another big performance.
