After putting together top-30 fantasy football rankings for wide receivers and running backs for week 5, let's do the same with the tight end position.

We'll again approach things with a PPR perspective.

Check back later for the quarterback rankings for week 5.

Check out week 5 fantasy football projections for tight ends on FantasySP as well.

1. Trey McBride

McBride remains as my No. 1 fantasy TE going into week 5.

He has a matchup against the Titans upcoming. It's a below-average matchup, but I'm going to continue to trust the top-end tight end to get the job done.

2. Jake Ferguson

Ferguson gets the No. 2 slot after his recent surge in production.

He has the Jets in his week 5 matchup. New York is a pretty average fantasy matchup, and with CeeDee Lamb likely out again, I see Ferguson getting the job done.

3. Brock Bowers

Bowers falls to the No. 3 spot, which is pretty low for his standards.

He has a week 5 test against the Colts. That's just below average for a matchup, and with how Bowers has performed over the past three weeks, that's why he doesn't rank any higher.

4. Tyler Warren

Warren has been pretty good to open his NFL career. Now he gets a tougher test against the Raiders, so I'm excited to see how the youngster responds.

He's been good enough to trust in all matchups, and that's why he ranks as high as he does for week 5.

5. Sam LaPorta

LaPorta has struggled a bit since week 1, but has a fantastic matchup coming against the Bengals. He has the chance to be the No. 1 fantasy TE this week, but based on what we've seen from him overall, this is where I felt most comfortable ranking him.

The matchup is a top-five matchup, so this week would be an ideal time for him to get back on track.

6. Hunter Henry

I wanted to rank Henry higher, but a very tough matchup against the Bills is telling me otherwise.

I still have Henry sixth, and that's because of what he's done to this point of the season. The matchup may be tough, but I'd still be happy to start him in week 5.

7. Juwan Johnson

Johnson had a bit of a down showing in week 4, so he'll look to get rolling again against the Giants.

The matchup is ever so slightly below average, but I still like Johnson in this lacking Saints' offense.

8. Travis Kelce

Kelce continues to provide just so-so numbers, but on a week where byes kick in, he still ranks in the top 10.

He has a below-average matchup against the Jaguars coming up, so things might look similar to how they have all season. With Xavier Worthy back, Kelce's ceiling isn't as high anymore.

9. Darren Waller

Waller caught a couple touchdowns on Monday, which was his first game of the season. It led to Waller being a waiver wire option for week 5.

He now gets a favorable matchup against the Panthers, so this is a chance for Waller to really establish himself as a weekly starting option. We'll see if he can deliver.

10. Dalton Kincaid

Kincaid also gets a top-10 spot going into his week 5 test against the Patriots.

It's an above-average matchup for Kincaid, who has three touchdowns on the year, but not a ton of other production.

11. Dallas Goedert

Goedert continues to shine, despite not doing much outside of catching touchdown passes.

He has the Broncos in week 5, which is a below-average matchup. Goedert might be a little touchdown-dependent, which is why he falls outside the top 10 for me, but at a weak position overall, you should still trust Goedert in a lot of fantasy leagues.

12. T.J. Hockenson

Hockenson didn't do too much in week 4, but he's been involved enough to rank him here.

He has a clash against Cleveland coming up. The Browns are a bit tougher matchup on tight ends, but nothing too crazy.

13. Brenton Strange

Strange continues to fly under the radar a bit, but that just means he's streamable every week.

He has a tough, tough test against the Chiefs coming up next. Strange has done enough in three of the four games he's played in to trust enough with some fantasy starts this coming week though.

14. Mark Andrews

Andrews is another big-name tight end who has underwhelmed so far this season.

He too has a tougher matchup coming, so that makes it even harder to trust him - not to mention it will probably be Cooper Rush throwing him the ball, not Lamar Jackson.

15. Zach Ertz

Ertz is another veteran tight end with a below-average matchup. He will face the Chargers in week 5.

He's floundered a bit without Jayden Daniels throwing to him, so if the young QB is back, I'd bump Ertz up a couple spots past this ranking.

16. David Njoku

It's getting harder and harder to trust in Njoku, who has really been a big draft bust so far.

He has a tougher test against the Vikings coming, so I wouldn't expect too big a showing from him. Njoku could be a bit more involved after Cedric Tillman was placed on the injured reserve list.

17. Dalton Schultz

Schultz's numbers have been unimpressive, but he's been involved enough to have some fantasy value.

He has a clash with the Ravens this week. This is an above-average matchup finally, but based on what we've seen this season, this is where I feel best ranking him.

18. Chig Okonkwo

Okonkwo got rolling in week 3, only to barely do anything in week 4. So he remains a tough fantasy asset to trust.

He has the Cardinals this week. They are an above-average matchup for him, but until we see more consistent results, this is where I will be ranking Okonkwo.

19. Noah Fant

Fant is working his way back from a concussion, so his status will be one to monitor.

He's got a slightly above-average matchup coming against the Lions, so if he plays, there's a chance he provides a little fantasy value.

20. Harold Fannin

The injury to Tillman should allow Fannin to remain pretty involved offensively for the Browns.

The below-average matchup against the Vikings has him ranked a little lower this week though.

21. Theo Johnson

Johnson is coming off a decent fantasy showing, but a touchdown grab really propelled that final fantasy mark.

He has an above-average matchup coming against the Saints, so it's a chance for the Giants' TE to keep building on last week's performance.

22. Jake Tonges

Tonges had his best showing of the season in week 4, so he was another waiver option, albeit in deeper fantasy leagues.

He has the Rams on Thursday night. LA is just an average matchup, and with some of the injuries the Niners are dealing with, Tonges has the chance for a pretty big role.

If Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings are each out, I'd bump Tonges up a handful of spots. It won't matter if Brock Purdy or Mac Jones starts for the Niners either.

23. Mason Taylor

Taylor had his best outing in week 4, and now the rookie TE will hope to build on that.

He has the Cowboys in week 5. Dallas is a slightly below-average matchup, and with the Jets' lack of pass catchers overall, this is a chance for Taylor to keep improving.

24. Evan Engram

Engram hasn't gotten going yet in Denver. He was the most involved he's been in week 4, so we'll see if that trend continues this week.

The Eagles are a brutal fantasy matchup on tight ends, so that's why I'm not any higher on Engram from past weeks.

25. Tommy Tremble

Tremble got going in week 4, and now has a very favorable matchup against the Dolphins coming next.

If he had done a bit more in the first three weeks, I'd be a lot higher on him, but he's more just a longshot to contribute in a big way for the coming week.
