5 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters Trending Up Wednesday

These five hitters are swinging hot bats and should be considered on the fantasy baseball waiver wire.

Let's now go over some fantasy baseball waiver wire hitting options, just like we did on Monday and Tuesday.

Here is Wednesday's waiver wire pitching article.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!

Jacob Wilson - Athletics

Wilson is up 3.19% so far today, and that brings his overall mark to 65.2%.

He has at least one hit in all but two games this month. Over 11 games, he's got 16 hits, including three home runs and a triple. Wilson has six RBIs, seven runs scored, a walk and just four strikeouts.

Wilson has a .291 average and .323 on-base percentage for the season across 61 games and 261 plate appearances now. He has 72 total hits, including 10 doubles, seven homers and a triple, plus 32 RBIs, 30 runs scored, 11 walks, 29 strikeouts and two stolen bases.

He's underwhelmed this season between lower numbers and some injuries, but he's trending up now. Consider adding the shortstop in all league types, especially if you have a need at that position.

Caleb Durbin - Boston Red Sox

Durbin sits near 56% rostered right now. He was at 48% back on July 16.

Durbin had a homer on Monday, which was the last game the Red Sox played. He has 14 hits this month for a .255 average, which is way above his .236 mark he has on the season.

He has a .299 OBP over 92 games and 338 plate appearances now. Durbin has 72 total hits, including 18 doubles, 10 homers and a triple, plus 42 RBIs and runs scored, 22 walks, 11 stolen bases and 46 strikeouts.

Durbin has been a big reason behind the Red Sox' recent surge, and it's made him a good fantasy asset again. Consider adding Durbin in all deeper leagues, especially if he's eligible at more than third base. He's also worth considering in standard leagues, at least until his bat cools off a bit.

Travis Bazzana - Cleveland Guardians

Bazzana is back on the rise after dipping below 50%. He's at nearly 52% today.

He has four hits over his past two games, along with two RBIs, three runs scored, a walk and a stolen base. Bazzana has 15 hits and a .362 OBP in July.

Bazzana sits with a .248 average, but a strong .342 OBP over 70 games and 304 plate appearances in his rookie season. He has 14 doubles, nine home runs and two triples among his 65 total hits so far. Bazzana also has 33 RBIs, 34 runs scored, 35 walks, 14 stolen bases and 68 strikeouts.

He's sat near that 50-60% own mark most of the season, and it's a bit surprising given he's at a weaker fantasy position. I'd be happy to add and utilize him in deeper leagues,, while also considering him in standard leagues too. At least consider him while he's trending up at the plate.

Esmerlyn Valdez - Pittsburgh Pirates

Valdez is up to 87.34% rostered after a 1.75% increase so far today.

He just continues to deliver at the plate, so it's no surprise to see him on the rise still. Valdez has a .300 average and .368 OBP this month, while popping seven homers, driving in 22 runs and scoring 14 times.

Valdez has appeared in 32 games, getting 122 plate appearances so far this year. He has 33 hits, including 13 homers, seven doubles and a triple. Valdez has a .306 average and .377 OBP, plus 34 RBIs, 24 runs scored, 13 walks and 46 strikeouts.

He's got some great numbers so far, so I'm surprised he's not at 100% owned. If the outfielder is still available in your league, scoop him up and enjoy his rookie-year success.

Nick Gonzales - Pittsburgh Pirates

Let's end with another Pirate, who is sitting near 56% owned right now. He was closer to 50% on July 19, so he's rising quickly.

Gonzales is on a five-game hitting streak, and has three muti-hit efforts in that stretch. He has a .383 average and .456 OBP in the month of July, so he's definitely turning heads.

In 95 games and 391 plate appearances this year, he has a .309 average and .368 OBP. He has 17 doubles, five home runs and a triple among his 110 total knocks, plus 45 RBIs, 55 runs scored, 28 walks, four stolen bases and 71 strikeouts.

Gonzales might not hit for much power, but he's hitting and getting on base enough to roster in any fantasy league type. Throw in that he's maybe eligible at second or third base and shortstop and Gonzales is a really good fantasy asset. Add him if you can, and at least ride the wave of his hot hitting for a bit.
