4 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters to Consider Adding Monday

Austin Riley - Atlanta Braves 

Riley is owned in 74% of fantasy baseball leagues right now. He was owned in all leagues to begin the season, and nobody would have thought he'd ever become a waiver wire option unless a major injury was involved.

He's been hot since returning from the All-Star break, collecting six hits over three games. Riley had two homers on Sunday and three total in that three-game stretch. He also drove in five runs and scored five times.

Riley has just a .217 average and .296 on-base percentage on the season across 98 games and 398 plate appearances, which explains why he is available in as many leagues as he is. He has a career .265 average and .330 OBP, so he was due to get rolling at some point.

Riley has 77 hits on the season now. He has 12 homers, 13 doubles and a triple, plus 47 RBIs, 43 runs scored, six stolen bases, 32 walks and 115 strikeouts. 

He can be a high-end fantasy hitter when healthy, so if he's available in your league, I'd suggest scooping him up now. He could heat up and stay hot the rest of the season and be a major fantasy boost for your squad. If he falls back off, then just drop him again.

Curtis Mead - Washington Nationals

Mead is up 2.29% so far today, which brings his overall mark to 63%.

Mead had a four-hit game in the first game back from the break. He went hitless on Saturday before singling and walking twice on Sunday.

He has a .256 average and .350 OBP over 83 contests and 309 plate appearances this season. Mead has 17 homers, 16 doubles and a triple among his 69 total hits.

Mead also has posted 48 RBIs and 47 runs scored on the season. He has 35 walks, 58 strikeouts and has stolen six bases.

He's been a fantasy surprise this season, and continues to look like a viable option. His fantasy upside is bumped up with him being eligible at first and third base, at least.

Mead is worth owning and utilizing in all deeper leagues at this point. Keep rolling with him as long as he's producing enough. He could be a short-term standard league option for those lacking 1B or 3B too. Again, roll with him as long as he's producing.

Lane Thomas - Kansas City Royals

Thomas has been added in 5.22% of leagues - he sits at 12.78% overall now.

Thomas had two hits in the first and second games back from the break - he homered in each contest. On Sunday, he didn't have a hit, but he walked and stole a base to provide some value.

He is up to a .240 average and .340 OBP over 85 games and 282 plate appearances this season. Thomas has 34 RBIs, 29 runs scored, 36 walks, 62 strikeouts and five stolen bases.

He has 58 total hits on the season so far. Thomas has 16 doubles and nine home runs.

Thomas is having a bounceback season after a poor showing in 2025. He's been a fantasy asset in the past, and is doing enough to consider again as a 30-year-old. He's becoming a trade option for contenders looking for a veteran outfielder, and a move could boost his fantasy value.

Right now, he's worth adding and utilizing in some more deeper leagues. He is worth the move for those of you lacking outfielders, or just needing some short-term help. Keep tabs on him, as his value could rise if he's traded to a contender and keeps playing/producing enough.

Ty France - San Diego Padres

France is up 2.18%, which brings his overall mark to 4.41%.

He has five hits in three games since the break. France has three homers and two doubles for his hits, plus six RBIs and four runs scored.

France is hitting .275 and he's getting on base at a .335 clip this season. He has played in 73 games, getting 243 plate appearances. 

France has 14 home runs, 11 doubles and two triples among his 60 total hits. He has 39 RBIs, 28 runs scored, 13 walks and 55 strikeouts, plus a stolen base.

France has delivered some solid numbers, but just not played enough to own in a ton of fantasy leagues. He could be on the rise now for a San Diego offense lacking offense desperately. France could start daily, and if he keeps producing, could remain a sneaky-good fantasy asset for a bit. Add and utilize him in some deeper leagues while he's delivering.
